Dal 6 Giugno, è disponibile in tutti negozi Top Shop, la maglietta disegnata da Kate Moss (ormai designer per eccellenza del marchio) per raccolgienre fondi da devolvere in beneficenza all'associaizone Starlight Children’s.

L'illustrazione sulla t-shirt mostra il viso stilizzato della modella all'interno di una stella, tutto black&white. Non sarà il massimo dlel'originalità, ma una t-shirt è sempre utile e se si tratta di un'azione benefica non serve pensarci troppo su.

"Glamour Entrepreneur of the Year Kate Moss is a big star who loves the little people." screams the very bored and lazy 3AM girls! But not quite is it? I have to admit when I saw this headline, I was shocked, no one is as tighter as Miss Moss, alleged 'money bags' in the eyes of the sycophantic British press but then I actually found were this news came from. And she ain't giving back. She's just got her mate Katy England to design a top for some kids charity via TopShop.

Why can't they get a picture of her were she doesn't look so HIGH off her tree on coke? She looks like she's going to start gurning......

No news VIA Vogue dahhling.....

The lack of posts is due to busy schedules at school, weekends in Milan's design week and studies for exams and projects.

Wednesday the test is on History of Fashion Photography, what is really really interesting to me and maybe also to you! So I'm thinking about posting some of my favorites photographers and their short history here.

In the meanwhile, I wanted to say that next week I'm flying to Barcelona for a short break to meet two best friends. Whoever has indications about places to go, please, comment it! I heard they have Top Shop there (Kate, wait for me!!).

And last, but not least, seriously, I can't deal anymore with this cold. It's been like 6 months non stop winter, GOSH, we need sun in our skins!

[In about four months I'll be probably here complaining about how hot it is, so don't even bother!]

Today I received my newest leather shoes. The heels I bought on allegro last week. They are from Top shop. I have nice surprise today.
My husband bought me a new camera PENTAX K10. These are the first pictures taken this camera:

Dzisiaj otrzymałam moje najnowsze buty kupione na Allegro w ubiegłym tygodniu. Buty te pochodzą z Top Shopu, maja 11 cm obcas i wykonane są ze skóry. Ponadto, mój mąż sprawił mi miłą niespodziankę i kupił mi nowy aparat Pentax k10. Jest to lustrzanka półprofesjonalna :). Poniżej pierwsze zdjęcia wykonane tym aparatem:

Parliamo di celebrity style e non possiamo che citare Kate Moss, c'è chi la ma e chi la odia, a voi la scelta, noi vi proponiamo il look di una delle più discusse icone di stile degli ultimi tre anni in una recente foto, "paparazzata" in quel di Londra.

Come sempre il suo trucco acqua e sapone, lascia spazio ai veri protagonisti, gli abiti da lei indossati, in questo caso capi che rimandano al suo tipico look glam-rock!

Super skinny i jeans grigi, coperti da high-boots Sergio Rossi accompagnati da vintage t-shirt in memoria dei mitici Clash, il tutto coperto poi da una military jacket firmata Top-shop, griffe low-cost per la quale (vi ricordiamo qui) la nostra Kate ha firmato una collezione lo scorso anno.

The Fashion Telex comes to you from London Fashion Week. Melissa Ventosa Martin, T Magazine's women's fashion associate, files daily dispatches.

London Fashion Week started yesterday with a double feature — Poltock & Walsh and Emilio de la Morena. The venue, the Science Museum's library, was an intimate environment to showcase these young designers. P&W continued their color blocking, this time in a palette of chocolate and jewel tones. From E.D.M, there were some nice nubby tweeds. ... Biba showed at my favorite London venue, the ballroom at Claridge's, at 1 p.m. (I am always amazed at the zealousness with which Brits push Champagne and mixed cocktails at every hour!) This was even more evident when I made my way to the Topshop venue for its presentation. At 3 o'clock in the afternoon we entered what appeared to be a club night — cocktails, strobe lights and Kelly Osbourne mingling with the guests. Weird. ... After dinner it was, finally, time for a drink. We headed to Ye Old Axe on Hackney street for the No Romance party where Jamie and Emma from British Vogue spinned a solid set of dance favorites. Cheers!"

Every Piece of Fashion Needs Some Rock 'n' Roll

While getting ready for class today, I tuned into one of my favourite shows, Fashion Television. I just had the T.V. going in the background when one of the segments caught my eye. These two designers, Richard Ascott and Philip Colbert, who call themselves and their line Rodnik, had created a very interesting and modern line of clothing. But what really interested me was the way the pair were going about promoting their clothing. Ascott and Colbert have absolutely no background in design or fashion, and perhaps this is what influenced them. The men do not send out media releases or stage media conferences; instead, Rodnik go to well known fashion outlets (like Top Shop) and put on a rock show, one playing drums while the other sings.

A very interesting PR move for two people who have never had experience in the fashion world, or in public relations and have had so much success so quickly. Their technique seems to be working very well. Their appearance at Top Shop drew an enormous crowd of fans and famous Brits praising the duo for creating wonderful clothes and being so unique in the process.

Like we weren't already gushing over all things English - BBC television shows and miniseries, Top Shop, the selection of sauces at Nando's, the Brits strike again with a new location to see your favorite bands: a taxi cab. What started a year ago as a solo performance that music promoters Hidden Fruit and film company Just So Films decided to film for Johnny Flynn became a series attracting the likes of Spoon, My Morning Jacket, The Raveonettes, and more. With the days of MTV Unplugged: Eric Clapton gone, Black Cab Sessions fills the hole for intimate, bare bones music performances that can be experienced by the masses. Even better, these young music promoters and filmmakers only have to pay the price of their taxi ride for the venue. Also, props to the cameramen who not only are squished in the back of these cabs and are able to film the bands beautifully in a single take, but for the extranneous pieces of the environment that they capture on miniDV.

So I have a slight obsession with UK fashion in that I think the UK version of international stores ALWAYS has better products... always seems funkier when I compare the inventory of the different versions of websites.

For example, I spotted various designer names on the UK website such as See by Chloe', Paul and Joe Sister, Anglomania, Alice McCall, etc while the US version DOES have Charlotte Ronson and seems to be working with more designers lately.. Am I being biased to my assumption that British style kickes even NYC's style's ass ???? The US inventory just seems targeted at a lower income/aged audience with less higher end offerings.

Speaking of British fashion obsessions, Top Shop will open on Broadway in SoHo in October 2008! I passed by it the other week and it made me slightly happy inside. I have only ordered a few items from their store because I wasn't sure about sizing and fit and ended up having to return some items. You have to pay for the shipping when returning the items internationally and am STILL waiting for the refund on my VISA over a month later... even though I did JUST receive and e-mail this week saying I am receiving a refund after two e-mails complaining. NOW, I just want the refund. P.S. the US Dollar is so weak!! So the prices were slightly deceiving in that I'm an idiot and can't do math.

I really reallyyyyyy hope they don't water down their stateside lines!!!

So far I have researched and published my own list of high street retailers and how ethically aware they are. See the 'High Street' link above to see this information and my ideas on what to do with it. To follow up I hope to write to all, or at least some, of the retailers and gather more information direct from them. The plan is to put their responses on this webpage.

I know I have a problem because I keep thinking about this dress. I also recognize that the Google Notebook entry I have saved with clothing bookmarks titled Obsessions is not healthy for my bank account...

Buuuut I am totally loving the tribal ethnic look thats just oh so cool right now and this dress has been on my mind since I saw it on Hillary Duff in some random gossip post. And they say love at first sight doesn't exist. But i just feel like if I do splurge on it.. I'll just be disappointed .... So for now, I'll just crush on it over the internet.. Most of the YAYA AFLALO items on Shop Bop are actually great..

Sidenote: It appears that ShopBop just partnered with FabSugar which was a super smart decision on both sides. They have alot of overlap in target audience and both bring a quality product to the table. They can only help to boost each others readership and strengthen the brands...

Also going through a slight Top Shop obsession. Maybe Top Shop isn't THE cutting edge it still has some really great stuff at a reasonable price for those of us who can't drop tooo much on day dresses... But just a warning (as I have recently found out) the dollar does NOT convert very favorably when trying to shop abroad AND when you return the items you have to pay for shipping yourself but damnit they have some cute stuff. The USA invasion is scheduled for October on 5th Ave.

They also have a Facebook widget I just added .. for research purposes only ofcourse.. So far, I'm not very impressed with what most fashion brands are doing online. They could definitely be more interactive and offer so much more to their followers ...

The only brand I've seen much of is DVF and they stand out to me as one of the more internet savvy fashion brands.. They're on Twitter and Facebook and atleast communicate with the fans and offer them exclusives and notifications of sales... but once again, there feels like there could be so much more...

Bloodbath at the 2008 Top Shop contest a few weeks ago at Third Lair skatepark in Minneapolis. While it doesn't really approach the highly entertaining, free-for-all rapid-fire bail-a-thon that so many best trick contests devolve into, this clip does feature a seriously mind-melting array of tricks dished out on the mini-rail, including a couple I personally have never seen before. Here's a possibly accurate rundown of which dudes did what:

-Dan Corrigan: frontside smith grind bigspin
-Cody Temple: 360 double kickflip lipslide
-Davis Torgerson: nollie heelflip frontside nosegrind, nollie frontside hurricane, nollie inward heelflip frontside boardslide (amazing looking trick from the fisheye angle)
-Cody Davis: kickflip backside smith grind backside 180 out, backside lipslide kickflip out (to regular)
-CJ Tambornino, switch bigspin flip frontside boardslide

Mike Munzenrider, Skateboard Mag writer, Twin Cities luminary and a fan of nollie inward heelflips himself, described this as the craziest best trick contest he's ever seen, which I might be inclined to agree with. But I think TSM internet commenter "Squaters" best captured the spirit of the thing: "if u were a witnessed im pretty sure u would have to change into that extra pair of drawes u brought!!" No doubt.

The Skateboard Mag has its own clip up that's better quality but a shittier angle on a lot of the tricks, although it does include Nate Compher's run--switch b/s 5-0 the hubba, switch f/s tailslide bigspin the other hubba. Maybe switch b/s smith grinds were getting boring. Is his hairline receding? Get ready for the dirty 30s Jr Mint...

Addendum: Here's a Skateboard.com clip that has a switch f/s bigspin noseslide from Ian Sherman, I believe, as well as a lot of the other tricks. Between the music in this clip and TSM's I think I gotta ride with Juelz/Just Blaze over the French robots.

Top Shop is a really cute, affordable and trendy store. Unfortunately, you won't be stepping foot into one of these unless you visit the U.K. anytime soon. Everytime I used to go visit family in London, I'd head down to Piccadilly Circus and check out the latest fashions at Top Shop, like these adorable shoes!!! Anyone live in London and want to mail me a pair? Size 6!!!
