A new computer usu

You've just bought a new computer or laptop, so what's the next step?

A new computer usually, but not always, comes with the OS preinstalled. Some companies like Dell also bundle security sofwares like McAfee for trial period of about 6 months. Sounds good right? But wait, what happens after 6 months? If you're someone who uses the internet often, it would be wise to beef up your computer security. You're not alone on the internet and the internet is like a minefield, you don't want to end up with viruses, spywares and intruders in your computer.

There are many internet security softwares out there and they are either commercial ones which you need to pay for, or you can choose to use freewares which sometimes equally good as well.

I won't go into details but I'll list the basic steps you can follow to safeguard your internet experience.

Use a good antivirus - A good antivirus can prevent infections from viruses, worms, trojans, and other malwares. They can arrive on your computer in all sorts of ways like downloading illegal softwares from shady sites, infected pendrives, drive by downloads, email attachments and much more. You don't want them in your computer because they can cause havoc especially to new users. Some payloads include deletion or corruption of files, registry modification, denial of service and more. You don't want these nasty things in your computer!

If you prefer using free antivirus softwares, recommended freewares include:

AVG Free

Avira AntiVir Personal

avast! Home Edition

Always remember to install ONE(1) anti-virus on your computer only. If you install more than one, conflicts can happen between them and this reduces their effectiveness in the long run, not to mention slow down your system. Also remember to update the detection definitions as often as possible. An outdated antivirus is as good as having none at all.

Always remember to scan all downloaded files and removable storage devices before accessing them.

For a quick review and more free antiviruses choices, you can check out Gizmo's Tech Support Alert.

Use a good antispyware - Spyware usually arrive on the computer when you visit shady sites offering free mp3 downloads, pirated softwares, cracks and more. Once in a while, legitimate sites are also exploited to install spyware on your computer. Also avoid questionable softwares, try to use only reputable softwares.

To prevent or to clean up spywares, you can try out this recommended freewares:

Spybot Search & Destroy

SuperAntiSpyware

Lavasoft Ad-Aware Free

Like antiviruses, always remember to update them at least once a week or if possible, daily.

For a quick review and more free antispyware choices, you can check out Gizmo's Tech Support Alert.

Use a good firewall - If you're also constantly on the internet, it is highly recommended that you install a good firewall. It can monitor your inbound as well as outbound traffic, preventing any malicious information from coming in or going out. Windows come with a firewall but it is recommended to get another one because it only monitors inbound traffic.

Recommended free firewalls include:

Comodo firewall

Sunbelt-Kerio Personal Firewall

ZoneAlarm free firewall

For a quick review and more free firewall choices, you can check out Gizmo's Tech Support Alert.

Use a good internet browser - If you're a Windows user, it comes preinstalled with Internet Explorer which over the years has been exploited heavily. Good internet browsers can prevent phishing, hijacking, malware infections and much more secure in many areas. They are also usually more user friendly, especially for new users.

Some examples include:

Mozilla Firefox

Opera

You can install all the softwares mentioned above but if you do not practise safe computing, it is still meaningless. Always remember to avoid shady sites, only use reputable softwares and scan all files before you access them.

Please keep in mind all the above are basic internet security tips only and it does not guarantee total internet security. You can search the internet or read up on more articles available freely.

Canon EOS 3000v
Our cameras are great pieces of technology. These babies support our passion for cap

[caption id="" align="alignleft" width="160" caption="Canon EOS 3000v"][/caption]

Our cameras are great pieces of technology. These babies support our passion for capturing special moments and interesting subjects, whether on film or on electronic sensors. If there's an occasion to celebrate or even if it's just a trip to the mall, a lot of us almost always grab our cameras to take pictures of memorable moments to freeze them in time. Yep, we took pictures and cleaned them out using post-processing but have you cleaned your camera lately?

Cleaning your camera is a must. If you use it often as in everyday, it would be prudent for your to clean your gear before you store it inside your bag or dry box after a day's shoot. If you're the OC type, you could clean your camera everyday if you wish - to the point that all the markings have been removed. Just kidding. If you're like me, cleaning my electronic gadgets on a regular basis is a habit. Sure, your camera is should withstand all the abuse, right? Even dirt. Well, I'm sorry bud but dirt and grime won't do your camera well. You have to clean it once in a while, often if you're a heavy user.

Cleaning Materials

[caption id="attachment_350" align="alignright" width="240" caption="Cleaning kit"][/caption]

The things you need to clean your camera are pretty basic: a blower brush, some q-tips, lens cleaning fluid, microfiber cloth or a piece of terry cloth, lens tissues and if you have one lying around somewhere to clean off the dentures of your granny, a can of compressed air. First, you need to clean out the spot on your counter-top where you want to clean your gear. Remove dust or debris as these might find their way on or inside your gear. Now, you'll need a large piece of clean cloth e.g. a towel. Spread it around your counter top where you'd be putting down your lens and stuff. I'd recommend that you be like a surgeon and arrange your cleaning stuff neatly and where you can grab them easily. You don't want to be cursing like crazy looking around for your cleaning gear while you're reflex mirror is exposed now would you? Do yourself a favor: be neat and organized. It would help you a long way.

Removing the Lens from the Body

[caption id="attachment_358" align="alignleft" width="240" caption="How to remove the lens"][/caption]

Okay, next thing to do is remove the lens from the body. If you're like most (casual) D/SLR owners, you're most likely to remove the lens of your camera facing up. Bad move. Why? Simple: if the body of your lens has dust particles or debris, these will definitely fall inside your camera body when the lens comes off. Simple laws of gravity. Here's how to properly dismount a D/SLR lens: point your camera face down, twist to remove then carefully move the lens away from the body. Immediately put the cap of you body to protect the innards from dust. If you don't have the cap, place your camera face down on the father most corner of the cloth. Oh by the way, don't use an electric fan when your cleaning your stuff. This will circulate dust in the air and you don't want that.

Cleaning the Lens

[caption id="attachment_353" align="alignright" width="240" caption="Wipe glass in a uniform, circular motion."][/caption]

Cleaning the lens is easy. To clean the glass, just put 1 -2 drops on a piece of lens tissue then wipe the glass in an even, circular manner. Start from the center and work your way out. Do not clean using an uneven, zigzag motion. While the lens tissue will give you an assurance that you're glass won't get a scratch, uneven strikes might cause your fingers to slip and your fingernails (or even your ring - I've seen a fellow make this mistake) scratch the surface of the glass. Whatever you do, do not breathe on your glass. Regardless of what other might say, I don't recommend this because our breath contains bacteria that might lead to fungus growth. If you absolutely have to breathe on your lens, do yourself a favor - brush and gargle first. Cleaning the lens body is even easier: just use your blower brush to gently blow air then brush of dust or debris. If there are stains that were left by your greasy fingers (I told you not to eat fries while shooting!), remove them using the microfibre cloth. If the stains are stubborn, dip a small piece of the cloth on a 50/50 mixture of isprophyl alcohol and distilled water. Don't soak the cloth. Just dampen it a little bit and remove the stains. For tough dirt, do a shot blast of compressed air then brush away the debris dirt. After you've cleaned the lens, place all the caps and place it at another end of your cleaning counter. If you're an OC type of guy, place the lens inside a ziplock plastic bag: zip it tight then place it on one end of your cleaning counter.

Cleaning the Camera Body

First of all, don't attempt to disassemble the camera body. You're not a profession so if you do this you'd be doing more harm than good. Okay, with the cap on proceed to inspect your camera body. If there are visible stains caused by your greasy fingers, do the 50/50 bit again. Remember, damp not soak. Use the blower brush to blow air on the body to loosen dirt then use the brush to remove the dirt. Do not blow compressed air inside your camera. This will damage the reflex mirror, probably the sensor and if you're cleaning a film camera, the focal plane. If you absolutely have to clean the reflex lens, do so very carefully. First thing you don't want to do is touch the mirror. It's a delicate - and expensive - piece of work. To clean your reflect mirror, ever so gently brush the mirror in a single direction using even strokes. When you brush, make sure that you face the camera downwards to that gravity would do it's work. If there is tough dust on the mirror, don't touch it as it would likely not affect the quality of your image. To clean the LCD screen, use the terry cloth or the microfiber cloth. Whatever you do, don't spray WD40 on any of the knobs or buttons if they feel stiff. If you did, you can probably say goodbye to your camera. After you've cleaned the body, replace the cap then place the body on one end of your counter top.

Cleaning Filters

You also need to clean the filters. To clean your filters, repeat my instructions on how to clea your lens glass. I also don't recommend breathing on your lens filters. After cleaning them, place these on one corner of your counter top.

Cleaning your Tripod

Yes, you need to clean your tripod too. Lucky for us, cleaning a tripod is easy. Just brush the dust and dirt off using a used toothbrush. One area of the tripod you need to really scrape off dirt from are the rubber heels. Dirt accumulates on the rubber heels and over time, they dry up. This can cause your tripod to slip. To scrape off dirt, I just use my trusty old Swiss knife. What you don't want to do is disassemble the legs. Sure, they look easy enough to disassemble then put back together but I tell you, it's harder than you think it is. Trust me, I made that mistake not only once but twice.

Tough Dirt or Fungi

If the camera body or the lens has dirt that won't come off or has fungi growth, don't attempt to disassmble the body and clean it yourself unless you absolutely know what you are doing. Better to bring it to a professional for servicing.

Cleaning your camera on a regular basis will definitely prolong it's life and would make it look like brand new - unless you're a total klutz and you scrape your camera or lens body each and every time. Always remember that an ounce of prevention is always better than a pound of cure.

Happy shooting!

Gizmo5, a service of VoIP service provider, SIPphone is offering free conference calling to its customers. I have been a big Gizmo user for a long time, but my usage has gone down mostly because their voice quality isn't up to par. In fact, for all my VoIP calling, I had almost exclusively switched to using Skype. Over the weekend, however, I was reintroduced to the service when Gizmo5 emailed a free conference call offer. I wanted to talk to a few buddies and normally, I would call them on my cellular phone and then join the calls to create a conference call. However, I decided to try out the new offer.

I went to their website and got a conference room number. Those who wanted to join call in 1-605-475-8515 and punch the room number and join the conversation. It worked surprisingly smoothly and phone conversation with a couple of my buddies went without a hitch. Each conference room can handle between 2-to-10 people. Gizmo5 subscribers can call into the conference room and that doesn't count a dime.

The whole thing went without a hitch, though given Gizmo5's quality-record, I am going to try it out a couple of times before making a final decision. However, I can see the potential. I can use this service to interview folks and tape the conversation for easy archiving. If you are looking for an easy conference call option, you should try it out.

ATTENZIONE:

Dear Readers,

After I did the Q+A about SpeedFan people have asked me to do a review..so here it is...ENJOY

1. What does it do? It monitors your CPU, Mother Board and Hard-drive..and gives you a temperature read out..in your system tray..so you can tell how hot your computer is running..to prevent damage...and improve preformace

2. Ease of use - Easy - This is very easy to use because you install it and it is ready to go...in most cases it does auto-detect...there has not been any computer I installed it on that did not work

3. Interface -Very simple...it has tabs on top..that is pretty much it..it is not fancy..but in this case that is how you want it...

4. Can you leave it running and it will run with out issue ? Yes...you can no doubt

5. Is there adware or Spyware bundled with it ? A big NO

6. Is it stable ? Very stable

Over all a 5 out of 5 stars....the main reason being crazy CPU power usages during full scan...but am really impressed by how fast it updates...

Hope this helps,

Last Thursday I was able to share the joys of geocaching with a group of educators and students at the Governor’s Conference on Youth and the Natural World, part of Maine’s Take It Outside initiative.

I prepared for the event by creating a trail map of the University of Maine at Augusta’s trail system. This map was distributed to all of the attendees and the trail data was added to the Earthmate PN-40 devices that were used during the training.

I worked with Steve Engle from the Center for Community GIS in Farmington, ME during the geocaching sessions and also implemented some of his helpful trail mapping tips during the preparation. I’d like to share some of those tips along with other notes on how I used Topo USA and the Earthmate PN-40 to create the Take It Outside trail map.

Before arriving at the UMA trail system I downloaded the high resolution aerial imagery for the area to my device using NetLink’s Map Library. This imagery was very valuable because it showed all of the buildings in the area as well as some of the trails that I was planning to map!

As I began my trail data collection I configured my device to give me the most detail possible. I made sure that WAAS was enabled in Device Setup>System to improve the location accuracy of the device. I also confirmed that the Track Settings on the Track page were set to record points by distance with an interval of 10 feet and that a new track would begin recording when the current track was full. Finally I set the Map page to display the GPS Accuracy and Battery Life info fields so that I could monitor these values while gathering the data.

After I adjusted the settings on my PN-40 I began walking the trails at a casual pace, making sure to hold the device flat, giving the PN-40 the best view of the sky possible. When I approached trail intersections I used one of Steve’s suggestions and created waypoints to help remember areas that I would loop back on or need to return to later.

When I finished walking all of the trails I turned my PN-40 off and headed home to create the trail map in Topo USA.

My first action was to connect the PN-40 and use the Exchange Dialog to transfer the track and waypoint information from the GPS to the Topo USA map.

Here is a screenshot of Topo USA showing the raw track data and the intersection waypoints.

After the GPS data finished transferring I created a Trail layer so that I could clean up the track data and prepare it for use on the printed map and with the geocaching demo PN-40s. I expanded the Draw tab using the More button, right clicked the track segment, and chose Copy To>TrailLayer, where TrailLayer was the new layer I had just created. This changed the track to a trail line style making it look like the other trails in the Topo USA data. For those interested in routable user trails, this is also the approach you would use.

I proceeded to use the draw tools to clean up some of the trails. Areas where I overlapped my track or walked off the trail system unintentionally were corrected using Manage Draw right click commands like Break Line, Join Line, and Delete. In one particular area I walked a loop twice and then drew in a trail by hand to approximate the two tracks. I also used the Waypoint tool to create a Trailhead waypoint and an Augusta Civic Center waypoint. The Draw tab has many powerful tools to help edit and create data that can be used in printing and on the PN-40; Topo USA owners should use the Help to get more information.

After completing the trail edits I used the Handheld Export tab to create a Draw Layer map package with the new trail information. I then used the Exchange Dialog to send the trail map package and the new waypoints to the PN-40.

People attending the geocaching training found the additional trail information very useful when choosing which path to follow to get to a geocache. I’ve seen many cachers tackle challenging bushwhacks that could have been avoided by viewing trails on the GPS that are just out of site in the woods.

When creating the paper map we chose to use additional symbols and line styles to mirror the large sign at the UMA trailhead. I created a custom symbol set in Draw and chose colored line styles to complete the printed trail map data. I added the event sponsor logos and other print objects using the Layout Tools in the Print tab. I did use Photoshop to create a map legend by hand and then added it to the map using the Image tool. I also touched up one of the trail colors after saving the file from Topo USA; the sign had a multi-colored line… a feature request for Topo USA!

This is how the final map turned out… not bad for an afternoon of hiking and a few hours of map editing and print layout!

Post a comment if you’re interested in more details on how to make trail maps with your handheld GPS and Topo USA.

Earlier today, Download Squad reported that, although the official release isn't until Monday, the new version 3.0 of the free and open source OpenOffice.org suite of productivity applications is already available for download. OpenOffice is a free competitor to Microsoft Office and generally works well with Microsoft Office files, with some exceptions.

We covered the ways that you can get the Windows and Linux versions early over on OStatic. You can also now get the Mac version for free. Here's how to get it, whichever platform you're on.

The Mac version of OpenOffice 3.0 is found four links down at this site. There are many Mac-based readers here at WebWorkerDaily, and this new release may be worth checking out, even if OpenOffice hasn't met your needs before.

As Mike noted in an OStatic post on the beta version of OpenOffice 3.0, "OpenOffice.org 3.0 is finally an Aqua application, rather than one that runs through an X11 server." Mike found the beta reasonably speedy, and generally compatible with Microsoft Office files. The new version also has support for ODF 1.2 (Open Document Format) as a native document format

In order to get the new version of OpenOffice for Windows and Linux, check the list of mirror sites here. If you're downloading the suite early check for releases that say "Stable." I plan to do a review on the new version for next week. I'll especially be looking for stronger compatibility with Microsoft Office files (especially when doing things like importing Excel charts), which has been an occasional problem for OpenOffice in past versions that I've used.

With our current economic situation and the expected increase in engery costs, everywhere you turn p

With our current economic situation and the expected increase in engery costs, everywhere you turn people are talking about how to save money this winter. As I mentioned last week, if you live in the Portland area, the first step to saving money on your energy bills this winter is to call the EnergyTrust of Oregon for your FREE Home Energy Review; however, you can start this weekend with a few housekeeping tips:

1. Service your furnace.

Start by replacing your filter. Remember, not every filter is created equal so look for a higher quality filter that has been rated by the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) using a standardized system called the MERV rating. A MERV rating of 86-11 will remove 30% of the larger allergens such as dust mites and 80% of finer dust particles; which will not only improve your furnance functionality but your indoor air quality as well. You should replace your filter at the beginning of the heating season (usually around October or Novemeber) and then every other month depending upon the filter until the end of the season (March or April).

Next, call a duct cleaning service and schedule an appointment to have your ducts cleaned and sanatized. I just made this call this morning, to have my ducts scrubbed and santazited would cost around $230 for our 1400 square foot home. Again, cleaning your ducts will increase furnace efficiancy and improve your indoor air quality.

Finally, after you have your ducts cleaned, re-seal your ducts with a mastic adhesive. Make sure the surface is clean and dry first (remove any duct tape if nessisary - the mastic will replace the need for the tape and is a much more effective sealant).

2. Water heater maintainence.

First, start by turning your water heater down a few degrees. For every degree you'll save between 1-3% on your energy bills.

Something I recently learned and will need to do this weekend, dain a quart of wather from your water heater tank every three months. Sediment builds up in the tank which slows heat transfer. By removing a quart of water you'll remove a substantial amount of sediment and improve the functionality of your water heater.

3. Weatherstrip windows and doors.

Last week I asked the energy consultant from Earth Advantage, "What are the top two or three things you'd suggest a person on a budget do to get their home ready for the winter?" His response:

First, seal your ducts (which also includes cleaning). You don't want to seal all the dust and allergens into your home. Mastic is fairly easy to apply. It comes in a small tube and is the consistency of peanut butter. Just spread it on and let it dry.

Second, weatherstrip your windows and doors. He said weatherstripping was more important than insulation for the person on a budget simply because if your windows and doors are not working efficiency who cares how much heat is escaping elsewhere. Of course, the most optimum solution is installing Energy Star windows and insulating your home but remember, we talking about what you can do right now for very little cost to start saving energy today.

4. Maintain your clothes dryer.

First, clean out your dryer vent. I'm not just talking about the little lint trap screen you should be cleaning between every use but the tube that is connected to your dryer and vents to the outside (this is also an issue, if you're dryer vent is venting to the attic or elsewhere inside your home you are creating the perfect environment for mold growth - get it venting to the outside). Make sure the tube is free of lint and in good working order.

Second, install a dryer vent seal. A dryer vent seal is an ABS plastic cap that easily mounts on siding, brick or cement. The dryer seal remains closed unless the dryer is in use. The floating shuttle under the visible hood rises to allow warm air, lint and moisture to escape. By simply installing a dryer seal, you could save 10% in heating costs because you're no longer heating the outside through a huge gaping hole in the side of your house.

5. My Fifth and Final Tip, Put on a Sweater.

Oregon is a four season state so I'm sorry, you simply need to dress for the elements.

The total sum of the above improvements - less than $500 depending upon the size of your home and yield immediate results.

Reducing your energy use is not only good for your pocketbook, it's great for the environment!

Have a great weekend - maybe I'll see you at the Apple Festival!

~ Kori

Finally my Team Foundation Server proxy 2008 is up, after few days troubleshooting. Just want to share some solutions for those who is facing the same problem.

The error I was getting:
The source control proxy 'xxx' is not responding, so the request will be sent to the main server. Please verify your settings.
Additional information:
TF15013: The requested Team Foundation Server is not registered with the proxy server.

Solution 1: Team Foundation Server Topology
Team Foundation Server Proxy should be deployed in a domain environment.
For information about Team Foundation Server Topologies , Refer to http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms400668(VS.80).aspx

Solution 2: Verify the Proxy.config configured correctly
By default, after you installed the Team Foundation Server proxy, you need to change the server name in the proxy.config file (The default proxy installation directory is …\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Team Foundation Server\Web Services\VersionControlProxy. )

This is the correct configuration to register your Team Foundation Server:
<Server>
<Uri>http://ApplicationTierServerName:8080</Uri>
<Server>

Wrong configuration:
<Server>
<Uri>http://ApplicationTierServerName:8080/VersionControl</Uri>
<Server>
For more information, see this: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms400735.aspx

Solution 3: Make sure the services are running
For Team Foundation Server, make sure these services are running
- ASP.NET State Service
- Windows Sharepoint Services Timer
- SQL Server services
- Team Foundation Server Task Scheduler
For Team Foundation Server proxy, make sure the ASP.NET state service is running

Solution 4: Grant permission for TFSProxy service account to access Team Foundation Server
1. At Team Foundation Server
2. Open Visual Studio 2008
3. Go to Team Explorer
4. Right-click TFS server node, select Team Foundation Server settings > Group Membership
5. At the dialog box, click New
6. Enter a new group name, example: TFS Proxy
7. Select the new group, and click Properties.
8. Add the [domainname]/tfsproxy to the group
9. Add the newly created group to the Team Foundation Server Valid Users

To verify your TFS proxy statistics
1. Try access http://localhost:8081/VersionControlProxy/V1.0/ProxyStatistics.asmx at your TFS proxy server.
2. Click QueryProxyStatistics

3. Click Invoke
4. You will see the result like the screenshot at below

I know, because I have already converted over 10 cars myself and I am certainly no mechanic.

Car Powered by Water
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Timothy_Payn]Timothy Payn

A car powered by water is a fact now. It has been a reality for several years. Over 70,000 Americans, 8,000 Australians and 5,000 Brits now have a car powered by water. Each of them has added an HHO kit to their vehicles themselves. It is incredibly easy to do and there is absolutely zero danger to the existing engine.

In fact an internal combustion engine with a hydrogen cell added has been shown to last twice as long as an engine powered solely by gas. There is actually a slight increase in the performance of the engine, so that is not an issue. Of course the big factor is that a car powered by water increases the efficiency of the engine and cuts gas costs in half.

Let me get straight what I mean by a car powered by water. Virtually all kits are an addition to the existing gas powered system. They are an add-on in the form of a cell containing an electrolyte which produces electricity and improves the efficiency of the gas engine. As things stand at the moment, a vehicle run entirely on water would be tortuous and is not yet really practical.

In an age where governments are becoming increasing worried (supposedly) about low carbon economies, resource conservation, carbon emissions and carbon capture, it seems incredible that so little attention is being paid to bio cars. Why is all the innovation being left to bright cookies who have come up with do it yourself guides? It beggars belief.

It doesn't really matter too much because get a good guide for converting your existing vehicle to a car powered by water and you can do it yourself for less than $300 without any technical expertise. I know, because I have already converted over 10 cars myself and I am certainly no mechanic. I have done each one at cost, but believe me, my friends would have been more than happy to pay 2 or 3 times that amount. They are all now happily saving from anything between $500 each year and up to $1800 a year on gas. Their cars perform better and their servicing bills are lower.

So what is the problem for the large manufacturers fitting hydrogen cells as an option on all cars? If it costs me less than 300 bucks to do it myself, surely they could fit HHO cells for a fraction of the price. It is not as if it is unproven technology. It is good for the environment, which everyone seems to spout as their main priority. It makes us less dependant on the supply of natural resources from foreign countries. It is great for the consumer because he or she spends less on running a vehicle.

Perhaps that is where the problem lies. Do you remember not so long ago the resistance to low-energy light bulbs? Manufacturers of standard light bulbs were horrified by the prospect. They were deliberately building in a low life expectancy so consumers would be forced to buy more of their product. Unfortunately, governments tend to support big business and ignore the concerns of consumers.

The same thing is happening with water fuel conversion. The technology exists but there is no will to push it forward. To be honest, it doesn't really matter if enough people are wise enough to take matters into their own hands and do it for themselves. It takes me about an hour and a half to do an [http://mikey890.wordpress.com/]HHO conversion without the need for any specific tools. So, get yourself a guide and make your own car powered by water today.

Are you trying to learn how to build a HHO hydrogen generator for car? Well, it is not surprising really. There are many folks searching for such information. Everyday, Google registers many searches for terms like "water powered cars", "how to run a car on water" and "how to build a HHO generator kit for car to run on water".

We are going to see what this HHO hydrogen generator for car can do and what are the components and other details.

This generator is a simple kit that is used to convert water into HHO. It is also called Brown's gas. This gas is an excellent catalyst that improves combustion of gasoline. Our internal combustion engines are poorly designed and only less than 25% of gasoline burns completely to power our vehicles. The rest is lost to heat, engine noises, pollution gases and unburned carbon deposits.

Basically, once the gas is produced, it is pumped into the internal combustion chambers of our engines to mix and burn with the gasoline vapors for an even combustion. As the combustion efficiency increases, so will the mileage.

Generator Kit Details

You can easily assemble the kit using components that can be bought from a local hardware store for less than $90 in most cases. The entire kit consists of a electrolyzer, a bubbler and a water reservoir.

Once you finished building the kit, you just need to connect it to the carburetor with simple off the shelf fittings. The carburetor will regulate and maintain the right portions of Brown's gas that will enter the combustion engine. The kit is powered by the car battery.

Benefits of Using A HHO Generator Kit

There are more than 20,000 drivers that have fitted the kit on their vehicles. Many have seen mileage increases ranging from 15% to 70%. Fuel cost savings can be as much as 40 to 50%.

The engines are now quieter, cleaner and can last much longer. You can even go to IRS to file for tax claims for keeping the environment clean!

Why wait? Build your HHO hydrogen generator for your car today!

Build your HHO hydrogen generator easily with this step by step manual on how to [http://www.squidoo.com/How-to-Run-Your-Car-On-Water-Fuel]run your car on water for less than $150.

Gas prices are at an all time high, and with world oil prices at the same record levels, and showing no sign of coming down any time soon, it looks like the average motorist like you or I is going to be paying through the nose for our gas for some time to come. So how can you reduce your gas bills? You may have heard about conversion kits where you can convert your car to run on water - like me, you probably thought it was a scam. I now know it isn't a con, but just how does it work, and what can it save you?

The headlines are a bit over the top - "Run Your Car On Water", they claim. The reality is that you can't run your car or truck on water alone. However, you can split the water into it's component elements, Oxygen and Hydrogen, and feed these into your engine along with the regular gas. This creates a mixture that is far more efficient, and in tests has achieved fuel consumption savings of 45% - 65% on standard vehicles.

When you separate the component parts out of the water they form a mixed gas called HHO, or Brown's Gas. Both the gases in the mixture help combustion - most people know that Oxygen is essential for combustion, and Hydrogen itself is highly flammable, and will increase the efficiency of the gas burn.

Now it might sound like you need a chemical plant to split the H2O into HHO , but in fact your local hardware store or auto parts supplier should have everything you need. It needn't be expensive either - you should easily be able to get everything for $50 - $100 if you shop around. To learn how simple it is to perform the conversion, and find out what you need, a detailed guide is essential. This should include blueprints, video demonstrations, and step by step instructions. You can read a review of three of the best guides currently available [http://waterforfuel.zanderboon.com/ ]here.

So what are you waiting for? Are you sick of high gas prices? Do you want to stop polluting our planet? Click the link below for more details about using HHO gas to reduce your gas consumption. [http://waterforfuel.zanderboon.com/ ]Water Powered Cars

What is the best hydrogen car conversion kit? The best way to convert your car to run on water is to do it yourself. In the recent months, the global crude oil prices have been rising steadily and causing local gasoline prices to increase more than 50 percent. Many car owners are frantically looking for ways to reduce their vehicle gas consumption. Some have resorted to invest $2000 to install a natural gas tank on their car to reduce fuel cost.

One option to improve you car fuel mileage is to supplement gasoline with an equal or better energy source. One element that meets the requirement is hydrogen gas (H2). The best hydrogen fuel conversion kit is one that you built by yourself. This article will provide some information on the subject.

By having a Do It Yourself (DIY) project to install a hydrogen fuel kit on your car, you will know exactly what is the limit of the system. The system uses an electrolysis device to extract H2 from water by tapping electricity from the car battery. The idea is to vent the hydrogen gas collected into the engine air intake system. The concept is similar to injecting nitrous oxide into the engine to boost power output. By delivering hydrogen gas into the engine combustion chambers, a larger explosion will be produced from the gas mixture.

In theory, when a car is consuming the same amount of fuel and is achieving a higher engine torque, the vehicle will travel further hence increasing its mileage. Higher mileage means your car is running more efficiently thus saving cost. As an added benefit, the only by product of the system is pure water vapor discharged into the exhaust pipe.

It is not difficult to install a hydrogen car conversion kit. Anyone with some basic car maintenance skill will be able to do the project. To make sure the modification is a success, you would have to purchase a step by step instruction guide. Most of the parts require are common components available from the hardware store.

Are you spending more and more money on fuel for your car? Increase your vehicle mileage by using a Hydrogen Car Conversion Kit. Read the reviews on top online resources to convert your car to run on water at http://www.water-car-review.info

[caption id="attachment_317" align="alignleft" width="240" caption="Kodak Elite Chrome Film. Image courtesy of Kodak"][/caption]

You probably had experienced this scenario before: you walk into a photo store and ask the sales clerk for some color film for your 35mm camera. Then, the clerk asks you a question that stumps you: ”What kind of film do you need sir? ISO 100 or 200?”. Not knowing what to pick, you just say ”Ah..umm.okay, anything would do. Just gimme the cheapest.”

Okay, so what do these numbers mean? Do they have an effect on the type of picture you’re gonna take? Is there a proper film type for particular type of shoot? That’s what I’m gonna to shed light on. Well, at least I’ll try. Here we go.

There are a number of different film types for 35mm film cameras. Without properly selecting what you would need for a photo shoot, then chances are a number of your shots won’t turn out the way you’d like them to. There are five film speeds available that are commercially available to us, the everyday shooter. These are 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1600. The numbers you just read refer to an ASA/ISO rating. Simply put, these ratings refer to the film's sensitivity to light. The higher the number, the more sensitive to light. The more sensitive to light, lesser time for exposure us required.

It’s easy to identify each – you can see these numbers right on the label. To check if you have the right film on your hand, all you need to do is check the package. If you’re lucky enough, some brands even have a short instruction about which film is best for which occasion. The numbers that you see on the film is the speed of the film based on how…grainy the film is and how long the shutter would need to be open. In short, it has something to deal with exposure. For example, when you’re watching an F1 race live, you don’t want a slow film on your camera: you want a fast film so that you can take crisp and clear action shots. So choosing the right film is really important because it affects the quality of your shots. But enough of the jabber – here’s what the numbers mean:

100 – this kind of film us best suited for everyday, simple outdoor shots. This film produces excellent photos taken outdoors under a clear, very sunny sky. One thing to remember when using this film is the where the source of light is coming from. You also would need to keep in mind the quality of light. This film would require the shutter of your camera for a bit of time as this ASA/ISO 100 films are not that sensitive to light so long exposures are required (compared to it's faster siblings). You need to be careful in avoiding hand movements or shakes while you’re pressing the shutter button because a slight movement might bring about a blur in your shot. You can use this film to take photos of your plans, trees, farm animals under a bright sunny sky or is best for portrait photography under good light. Amongst the five, this is the most common i.e. you can find at a general store or someplace in Greenland that sells film for 35mm cameras.

200– Okay, you’re probably thinking that since this type of film is only 100-up from the one above, this is the same film Well, not quite. While you do still need to be careful of the light source and all that stuff, this film is a bit more versatile since you can use these in outdoor shots where there is only partial sunlight. You can also use these for indoor shots taken with a flash. This film is best for taking pictures of people. No, not for studio-grade portraits but for good casual photos that are posed, like the one’s you take during your class reunions or birthday parties. This film is the film recommended to amateur photographers since it is very versatile and is not expensive.

400 – If you’re gonna take pictures of a run-and-gun basketball game or a take action photos during race day, this is the film you need to bring. You can also use this for indoor photos taken with a flash, but the results won’t really be that good since this is best used for action photography or for any photo shoot where you need to capture the action as it happens every fraction of a second. You can also use this for taking bright, sunny day pictures but you’d be better off with the 200 in doing that kind of shot. Using this film, the shutter door is open only for a very short period of time so if you handled your camera well, you would have a crisp and clear action shot after the film has been developed.

800 – the 800 is kinda advanced compared to the 400 but kinda similar to the 400. I’m not making any sense, am I? Okay, let me clarify. For one thing, it is rare you can find an 800 film at your neighborhood photo supply since no causal or amateur photographer buys this kind of film often. Another is that this is 2x as expensive as the 400. But is it worth the price? Well….it depends. While the 800 is a very good film for action photography, taken under bright lighting conditions it is more reliable for taking photos at night time or under low-light conditions It goes without saying that you need to use your flash. However, the effective range of your flash is only about 8 – 10 meters so the best night-time or low-light shots are taken in close-up. For action photos taken under partly-cloudy conditions, this is the film you would need. Don’t use this film for still-life photos because your picture would turn out a bit blurred.

1600 – If you want to take some photos under really, as in really, low-light conditions, then this is the film you’d need. However, this film is the most expensive of the lot. This film can turn out dramatic photos taken during night-time without flash under very, very low-light conditions – like you kids having fun while playing hind and seek, or of the full moon covered by a thin layer of clouds. While you can take photos with this film using a flash, it is not advisable since it would brighten the setting to make it look like you took the photo during daytime. Like the 800, it is rare that you’d find this film at your neighborhood photo supply store. You'd have to really go to a specialized store that sells photographic supplies to get this film.

Since we're now experiencing a boon on digital cameras, not many photography supply stores now carry 35mm film. Five years ago, ASA/ISO 800 film was being sold at the photography supply stores at the mall I frequent. Now, I'd be lucky to get an ASA/ISO 400 film. Anyways, those who trumpet the death of film would definitely be put off by the news that Kodak has released a new brand of 35mm film: Ektar. So for those of you who still prefer to shoot film or love to shoot using film, don't sweat it: 35mm film would still be present for the foreseeable future.

Happy shooting!
