The Dandy Warhols have been keeping themselves very busy over the last year and a half, with a project they call Breath Easy.  During the last 18 months the group has invited bands to come record songs for this project at their studio in Portland called the Odditorium.  Proceeds will benefit The Three Rivers Land Conservancy project, which strives to build healthier communities through the conservation of private natural land and hopes to save 10,000 acres of natural habitat.

Twelve of the Breathe Easy tracks will be available for download, beginning October 21.   According to a press release, many musical styles will be featured in the project with possibly blurred boundaries. "Genre becomes loosely articulated," it reads. "What unites the pieces is the emotion, the spontaneity that comes from collaboration and inspiration. It's music that conveys both the individual contribution and the integrity of the whole."

Verbage from the trailer states, "Hundreds of artists collaborating to make musical history."  I don't have the complete list of artists.  But to name a few, some of the bands featured on the project include The Kooks, Spoon, Dinosaur Jr's J Mascis, the Bravery and the Raveonettes.

In my opinion, the only thing more awesome than a cool band that plays good music is a bunch of cool bands playing a bunch of cool music.

Judgement: From what I heard in the trailer, this collection will be something to get excited about.

Here's the first single, "Take Back the City." There's cool cosmic imagery in it and I think this album is veryyyy promising.

4.Oasis- Dig Out Your Soul

This is "Falling Down." I'm so psyched for this! It's been three years since we've had a new Oasis album so this should be quite stellar! Oasis has one of those sounds that you get lost in. In case you can't tell, I live for that shit!

3. Kaiser Chiefs- Off With Their Heads

Release date: 10/28

This is the new single "Never Miss a Beat." I think it could be one of their best singles yet although I really do love "Modern Way." Anywho, if this song is anything to go by, this album should be siiiick!

2. Fall Out Boy- Folie a Deux

Release date: 11/4

"I Don't Care" is already a huge song and the video is awesome. Fall Out Boy has this adorable way of making fun of themselves and everyone else in the process. And they definitely are the most underrated overrated band right now. Look out for Sarah Palin in the video!

1. The Killers- Day & Age

Release date: 11/25

I absolutely adore The Killers. Their Sam's Town tour is definitely one of the best concerts I've been to second to maybe The Red Hot Chili Peppers (and The Roling Stones, but I was 9 so I don't remember it that well). Anywho this is the first half of the first single, "Human." If this album tops Sam's Town, it should be like a musical orgasm.

It should be one hell of a fall. Look out for album reviews shortly after release dates!

Also, I'm goign to see The Kooks in two weeks so there should be a nice review after that!!

El MotoRokr Fest es un concierto masivo celebrado actualmente en dos lugares en la Republica mexicana, el primero es en el Distrito Federal y el segundo es en Guadalajara.

ambos conciertos ofrecen caracteristicas diferentes a la de los conciertos normales, una de las principales caracteristicas y en lo personal muy cabrona es que cuentan con un bar de hielo (si cabron de puro hielo... hasta la taza es de hielo) el cual ofrece una experiencia digamos algo. . . Surreal.

El precio de concierto por entrada general es de $450 (accesible no seas pinche marro) y bueno con esto obtienes solo la entrada al concierto, la fecha del concierto es el 18 de octubre en el df sera en el foro sol y en Guadalajara sera en la Explanada Lopez Mateos

La mayoria de las bandas ofrecen un buen rock y bueno si no conocen por lo menos a las primeras cinco bandas de la lista los invito a que realmente las escuchen sus sonidos son alternativos y muy bien mezclado codificado y ejecutado chavos (paramore no lo creo).

Los boletos estan de venta en Ticket Master y Tambien de Venta los Boletos Platino (con acceso al Bar de Hielo) el cual esta muy cabron pero pues algo caro $950 por persona tienes algunos beneficios, como acceso a una grada exclusiva con vista al escenario principal,aseguran  que una entrada rapida al evento (si, como no) entre otros.

  ya saben si quieren asistir aqui esta un poco de informacion que les puedo dar y bueno las recomendaciones... del buen  Ajenjo para un concierto masivo...

• Quedate en un hotel barato hay muchos por la Tapo
• llevate unos tennis bien pinche viejos no vas a fresear no seas niña.
• Ponte sobre todo mucho desodorante caon se higienico.
• Toma mucha pero mucha agua.
• dependiendo del estado del tiempo decide si llevaras una chamarra (para la lluvis principalmente) y/o protector solar(pontelo antes pensaran que es droga si llegas con el).
• lleva varo para las chelas no seas ojete (una chela esta como a 60 varos a veces en esos conciertos valoras mas el agua que la cerveza).
• la hierba en los tennis y en el boxer no pasa nada.
• En algunos conciertos se ponen apestosos por las camaras digitales asi que dependiendo del concierto checa si en el reglamento admiten o no las camaras o si no haz lo que en el punto anterior.
• No lleves cinturones con hebillas grandes pensaran que quieres asaltar a alguien o matar y entonces te veras obligado a tener que subirte los pantalones cada diez segundos.
• Si puedes escondete una pomadita para los putazos si eres de los que les gusta meterse a los Slam (hazlo se lo que te digo).

Llegar al Festival el primer día (sabado 6) resulto un poco más facil de lo esperado.  Solo una pequeña confusión al principio en los muelles, pero una vez que encontramos el correcto, todo fue fácil.  Demasiado fácil.  La fila en el muelle de Bay Street era corta, solo había que formarse en unas vallas, mientras unos chavos al final de las mismas "revisaban" los boletos.  No tenían lectores de códigos de barras ni nada, los que llevábamos hojas impresas solo las rompían y la revisión de mochilas fue nula.  Ese día se pudo haber impreso cien hojas del mismo boleto y cien personas hubieran podido entrar.

El festival se lleva a cabo en el Island Park de Toronto, un parque muy grande que se encuentra rodeado del agua del Lago Ontario, al cual la única forma de llegar es en ferry o avioneta.  El boleto del festival incluía el viaje en ferry gratis, que tardaba aproximadamente unos 15 minutos en recorrer las aguas del muelle al parque.  Una vez que desembarca en la isla, eres libre.  La seguridad es poca porque en realidad no se necesita tanto, se asume que es gente civilizada y que se comporta como debe y así es.  Stands comerciales hay muchos, desde Motorola regalando mochilas hasta uno de XBOX con varias consolas con Rock Band y Guitar Hero listos para ser jugados.  Las zonas de comida no eran muchas, pero las filas tampoco eran largas, y cabe destacar que las bebidas alcohólicas solo se vendían en zonas designadas donde tenías que permanecer mientras las consumías.

Solo había tres escenarios, uno muy muy chico en el que había bandas a cada momento, otro ya más grande que era el Second Stage, y el principal.  La primer banda que vimos el Sabado fue a The Fratellis en el Second Stage.  Mucha gente, más de lo que yo esperaba, me atrevería a decir que fue la mayor cantidad de gente que vi en ese escenario en todo el festival, aunque era claro que más de la mitad iban solo por Chelsea Dagger, ya que al pasar esta a mitad del set, la gente empezó a moverse a otros lados. El grupo estuvo bien, directo y conciso, aunque a decir verdad se veían un poco cansados, pero tocaron las que debían, prendieron bien, y siguió el festival.

Bloc Party siguió en el escenario principal.  Por fortuna no tocaron Mercury, fue un set basado en sus primeros dos discos y solo dos canciones de Intimacy vieron acción.  Mucha respuesta del público que estaba hasta adelante, aunque la verdad el campo era muy grande por lo que estando atrás parecía que la gente los tenía más como música de fondo.

Después de perder un poco el tiempo, regresamos al otro escenario a ver a los Kooks. Superaron cualquier expectativa que tenía de ellos.  Tendrán un segundo disco francamente malo, pero saben sacarle jugo a sus canciones en vivo, Luke Pritchard de verdad se esmera en conectar con la gente cuando está en el escenario.  Mención especial al momento en que pidieron que todos se sentaran a la mitad de una canción, se vio bien, aunque en ese momento fue cuando se noto que los Foo Fighters ya habían empezado, porque no quedaban más de mil personas viendo a los Kooks.

De los Foos, no mucho que decir. En un lapso de 15 minutos, solo hubo un solo de batería y Dave Grohl eructando y hablando.. y hablando.. y hablando.  La decisión fue mejor irse a los ferrys antes de que las 20,000 personas que estaban viendo a los Foos salieran todas y se hiciera un caos.

Cold War Kids - Somthing Is Not Right With Me

Den Anfang machen The Subways. Sie spielen am 5. November (Mittwoch) in der Frankfurter Batschkapp. Mit ihrem zweiten Album "All or nothing" im Repertoire, erwarten den Besucher mehr als ihr Hit "Rock'n'Roll Queen".

Weiter geht's am 20. November (Donnerstag) mit The Kooks. Auch sie haben ihr zweites, erfolgreiches Album "Konk" im Gepäck. Somit kann man sich nicht nur auf ihre Hits von "Inside In/ Inside out" freuen, sondern auch darauf "Down to the market" oder "Always where I need to be" live zu hören!

Zum Schluss gibt es dann, hoffentlich, am 11. Dezember (Donnerstag) die Babyshambles zu sehen & zu hören. Wie The Kooks spielen sie in der Jahrhunderthalle in Frankfurt/Höchst. Mit ihrer verspäteten "Shotter's Nation"-Tour wollen sie wohl Pete Doherty's vergangene Fauxpas entschuldigen.

Rock básico com uma leve batidinha pop. Do jeitinho que a gente gosta. Não me pergunte de onde vieram, quem são, se tem filhos, opção sexual.... Atentem-se em escutar; e ponto final! "The Kooks - Always Where I Need To Be".

Como esse povo ainda consegue combinar "tchu-ru-rus" com o rock atual?

Just read the news that The Kooks are back in Australia in 2009 and their playing at the Hordern Pavillion in Sydney!!!!

I am literally shaking with excitement! They were AMAZING last time and with a much bigger venue, it's going to go off!!!

I simply must go!! There's no doubt about it!

But I want to post SOMETHING so let's all listen to my new favorite song, "She Moves In Her Own Way," by The Kooks. Those of you who know me: picture the song as if it's about me. Picture me dancing to it, moving in MY own way. Which is to say, extremely awkwardly. Now didn't that bring a smile to your face?

Droga 1. Nine Inch Nails cancelou sua turnê brasileira. Graças a problemas técnicos não rolou NIN dessa vez (mas isso tem um lado bom pelo menos: depois do Planeta Terra, Tim Festival, Skol Beats, Madonna, Kylie Minogue e Maroon 5 me diga QUEM É QUE CONSEGUE TER DINHEIRO PRA IR EM MAIS ALGUM SHOW?!?!?!?)

Ahhh Trent! Não fica triste não! Eu juro que queria ver vocês por aqui!

Droga 2: Foo Fighters e a sua "grande pausa". Pois bem... pelo jeito a modinha Los Hermanos está pegando. Depois da sua turnê mundial (que infelizmente, pra variar não incluiu o nosso Brasil varonil...), Dave Grohl, o líder da banda deu uma entrevista à BBC falando sobre o break. Agora é rezar para que não demore tanto (ou pior: seja permanente)

Nem tanto droga 1: Lily Allen, uma das mais famosas cantoras lançadas pelo myspace e outra das notórias brit-problem-girls anunciou o lançamento de seu novo cd “Stuck On The Naughty Step” para o dia 9 de fevereiro. Diga-se de passagem que esse é o tipo de álbum que só pelo nome já valeria a pena... hahaha mas just in case o primeiro single do cd, Guess Who Batman? ( Fuck You Very Much ) você ouve aqui: (aprovado por Chloe!)

Nada droga AT ALL: A 50ª edição do álbum Remistura terá uniões de Diplo & Santogold, com a música Guns of Brooklyn, a versão nova-iorquina de Guns of Brixton  do Clash. Também estão presentes entre as faixas remixes da famóóóóóóósa música de abertura dos Ghostbusters: os Caça-fantasmas, além de remixes feitos pelo Hot Chip e outros nomes de peso. Não ouvi ainda, mas que deve ser interessante disso eu não tenho dúvidas!

Nem tanto droga 2: O Fall Out Boy divulgou a capa de seu novo cd, Folie à Deux, que mais uma vez, já vale a pena só pelo nome, e o desenho da capa não poderia ser mais toy-art-popularidade!

Eles são um pouquinho emos, mas assuma, eles DEFINITIVAMENTE sabem se divertir!

Je ne sais pas à qu’elle point c’est éthique pour un band qui désire élargir son auditoire d’enregistrer des versions revisités de track “Hot of the Moment” et de les diffusés sur des sites type Myspace.  Éthique ou pas, il suffit d’un petit coup d’oeil sur des sites à la Elbows ou Hype Machine pour constater que les covers ou les remixes ont toujours la côte des Internets.

Voici 2 exemples où les versions originales m’apparaissent si usés que je me demande si ça valait vraiment la peine de les reprendre.  Qu’importe…
