Le manager sportif du Brussels,Dimitri Mbuyu n'a pas attendu non plus l'entretien avec Johan Vermeersh puisqu'il a décidé lui-même de ne pas prolonger son contrat. Le président aura bien du boulot en vue de recommencer la saison.

A La Gantoise, on affirme ses ambitions. Le club travaille depuis 2,3 ans afin d'arriver au top belge. Alors qu'un stade ultra moderne est construction, Gand veut frapper un grand coup en attirant un entraîneur de calibre en son giron. Après deux autres coachs de renom comme Leekens et Sollied, c'est ni plus ni moins que le mentor des champions de Belgique à qui les Buffalos font les yeux doux. Lorsque le club aurait demandé le salaire que voulait Preud'Homme, celui-ci aurait répondu 1 million. Mais La Gantoise ne s'en est pas effrayé, il faut dire que Trond Sollied touchait déjà une somme équivalente cette année. Reste à voir si le Standard pourra s'aligner sur ce salaire. Réponse probablement ce week-end.

Cité aussi à Anderlecht Preud'Homme ne devrait pas rejoindre le club de la capitale qui préfère miser sur un duo Jacobs - Hasi. Les mauves sont néanmoins très actifs sur le marché des transferts. Après les engagements d'Arnold Kruiswijk et de l'argentin Suárez, c'est un autre compatriote de ce dernier qui devrait rejoindre la capitale. Le président du Germinal Beerschot a affirmé dans la presse que le transfert d'Hernan Losada était conclu à 99%. Il devrait donc être le 5eme argentin d'Anderlecht après Frutos, Biglia (qui a joué avec Losada à Independiente), Pareja et Suarez. Losada devrait remplacer Ahmed Hassan qui retournera en Egypte. Mais Herman Van Holsbeek le manager du club Bruxellois lorgne sur d'autres joueurs créatifs. Ainsi Nabil Dirar (aussi pisté par Bruges, le Standard et l'Ajax) et Honour Gombani seraient fortement convoités par le Sporting. Enfin Le Soir affirmait dans son édition d'aujourd'hui, que le jeune Cheikhou Kouyaté du FC Brussels aurait un accord tacite pour signer très prochainement au Parc Astrid. Le joueur ést aussi suivi de près par Arsenal.

Le FC Bruges a lui transféré pour 4 ans, le Vénézuelien Ronald Vargas. En provenance du FC Caracas, il devrait être le joueur créatif qui a temps manqué aux Blauw and Zwart cette saison.

I reklambranschen verkar inte finnas speciellt mycket utrymme för kritik. Inte negativ åtminstone. Att klaga på en kampanj är ett av de bästa sätten att skaffa sig ovänner för livet. Citatet ovan kommer från en tidigare postning och jag vill nog inte riktigt sjunga med i den sången. Den inställningen gör mig lite orolig.  

Jag tycker att det är väldigt viktigt att vi ska kunna kritisera varandra inom reklambranschen. Utan att någon måste replikera i affekt. Jag tror att det är livsviktigt om vi ska kunna utvecklas överhuvud taget. Jag tror inte att en samling flinande ja-sägare gynnar varken de enskilda byråerna eller uppdragsgivarna. Jag kan inte komma på någon bransch där allt är lika slutet och tillrättalagt. Tänk om det hade funkat på samma sätt inom exempelvis politiken? Debatt är av godo, skit samma vad den handlar om.

Delar av detta inlägg härstammar ifrån den Stockholmsvänliga inbjudan som som nyligen skickades till byråer av en avgångsklass på Reklambyråskolan. I denna fråga har jag blivit beskylld för att stå på båda benen och det är helt riktigt. Jag tycker inte att deras inbjudan var speciellt bra, men det beror inte på att studenterna hade använt ett respektlöst anslag. Jag vill inte ha någon tillrättalagt och finputsat av studenter. Jag förväntar mig en smäll på käften. Sen kan sådana utdelas med mer eller mindre finess. Något som skulle göra mig fullständigt vansinnig är ett sötsliskkletigt fjäskande för de etablerade. Många byråer är duktiga på att själva dunka sig i ryggen. Jag tycker inte att den sortens självgodhet ska uppmuntras.

Att det finns ett tystnadens dekret visade sig inte minst bland artikelkommentarerna på resume.se innan de började med inloggningssystem. Nästan alla var anonyma, nästan alla tyckte att kampanjerna som diskuterades var skit. Tro mig, jag vet. Efter en viss krönika har jag (med kollega) fått mer skit än hela byrågöteborg tillsammans. Det har inte alltid varit roligt men priset för den tillrättalagda tystnaden är mycket större. Att så många ilsket kommenterar anonymt vittnar om att något ej står rätt till.    

Vad det gäller vår hållning till kommande generationer, borde vi ha en god distans till dem som ännu går i sina barnskor. Det är vi som är de besuttna. Det är vi som betraktar kidsen ur fågelperspektiv. Genom att vara lättstötta kväser vi framtiden och skapar små bleka kopior av oss själva. Vi hamnar i en nedåtgående, inavlad spiral där konformiteten sätter standarden både för medarbetare och jobb. Då är vi illa ute. Kanske är vi redan där, för det finns inte så många som tycker att svensk reklam gått framåt på sistone.

Abbes pappa tyckte även att hans kollega och vän hade blivit smutskastad och smädad i krönikan. Då tycker jag nog att han är överkänslig om han känner så. Att någon tycker att en reklamlärare har pay off-noja är knappast något man går och skjuter sig för. Jag vet inte ens hur förolämpad han kände sig. Vi har inte hört någon kommentar ifrån honom själv, bara från hans kolleger. Många som fick utstå värre kritik tyckte att krönikan var träffande och rolig. Skillnaden kanske stavas distans.

Ska vi inte kunna kritisera varandra? Har vi så jävla dåligt självförtroende? Är debatt av ondo?

Upprinnelsen till denna post är ett utskick från Reklambyråskolan i Göteborg. De bjuder in den lokala branschen till vernissage och passar samtidigt på att deklarera sin högst nedslående syn på den bransch de är på väg ut i. Reklamgöteborg suger och om man vill bli något är det bara att packa kappsäcken och dra till Stockholm. På baksidan av inbjudan passar man på att tacka ett antal byråer, alla från Stockholm. En halvkvalificerad gissning är att de nämnda byråer är de som upplåtit praktikplatser till studenterna. Om det stämmer kan man kanske förstå att de håller Stockholm högre.

Vernissageinbjudan har rört upp åtminstone någon deciliter ont blod på hemmaplan. Ulrika blev aningen grisk och i viss mån även jag själv. I mitt fall handlar det mest om att jag tycker att anslaget är finesslöst. Kanske också aningen plumpt. Det finns ingen djupare tanke bakom utan är förhoppningsvis kreerat i affekt. Jag känner mig inte förolämpad för att min integritet som kreatör kränkts, utan snarare lite orättvist behandlad för att jag ej ens fått chansen att nobba dessa fantastiska kids som alla är på väg till Stockholm (om vi inte rusar till vernissagen och hindrar dem förstås). Jag tycker att det var lite uppfriskande med en råsop. Fast den kunde, som sagt, svingats lite snyggare. Det är skillnad på en pugilist och en slugger.   

Men jag måste ändå ta kidsen i försvar. Hur ofta kommer det kritik underifrån? När fick du själv ett bett i knävecket senast? Är det inte så att plantskolorna är överfulla av väna violer? Unga, oförstörda människor som borde ifrågasätta etablissemanget och utmana istället för att lydigt falla in i ledet. Har inte branschens etablerade ett ansvar för att studenter ska få vara lite studentikosa i sin rosaskimrande naivitet? Att de ska få tro att vårt jobb handlar om att kreera dagarna i ända och att alltid den bästa idén vinner pitchen? Cyniska lär de bli tids nog ändå när de obönhörligen inser att precis allt handlar om pengar.

Av nostalgiska skäl gräver jag därför fram en artefakt ur mitt eget arkiv. Det är en krönika från den första katalogen för reklamtävlingen Lanternan som hölls i Göteborg åren 2000-2003. Den är lite hafsigt skriven av min kollega Gustaf, kåserande på andras bekostnad och förmodligen även lite tarvlig. Genom nostalgins glasögon kan jag tycka att den fortfarande är smårolig och ganska harmlös. Men jag minns vilka oceaner av ont blod den rörde upp 2000. Jag tror att vi fortfarande har kvar några dödsfiende p g a den.

Någonstans är jag fortfarande besviken på reklambranschen. Jag trodde att det fanns en ära i att utmana. Att stå på barrikaden och skrika könsord åt kristna förbipasserande. Att en kreatör av naturen bör vara bråkig och ifrågasättande. En obekväm typ. Ungefär som t ex Cederqvist, Falk, Hall, Pihl, Mork och inte minst Nordin var på sin tid. Men jag inser att så ej är fallet. Den anonyme fjantskallens inlägg här är nog en uppfattning som är representativ för branschen. Eller som en numera god vän inom samma skrå uttryckte det när det begav sig: Kritik ska komma uppifrån.

Men detta är inte den bästa av världar. Därför utnyttjas sällan variabelmöjligheten till något bra. Själv har jag i ett fåtal fall gjort några DR jag kan sträcka på mig för och DR-tävlingen Guldnyckeln brukar ha med några representativa bidrag varje år. Annars är det den mörka medeltiden vid användandet av variabeltryck. 

De värsta styggelserna brukar komma ifrån diverse postorderföretag. De har förstått att ett personligt tilltal säljer. Vad de inte har fattat är att folk blir arga när man talar till dem som om de vore idioter. Man klappar sällan en vuxen människa på huvudet ostraffat. De flesta har självkänsla nog att skicka uppenbart inställsam och tokflörtande reklam direkt i runda arkivet.

Postkodlotteriet är ett bra exempel. De skickar adresserade, variabeltryckta brev till förlorare. Fönstret på bilden kan man läsa: "Tacka ja till chansen att bli en vinnare Fredrik!". Texten är satt i ett handstilsliknande typsnitt och ska nog kännas personlig och nära. Men det fungerar inte.

Det är jättesnällt av Postkodlotteriet att hjälpa mig att bli en vinnare. Problemet är bara att jag inte känner mig som en förlorare. Jag känner snarare att de kränker min mentala kapacitet genom att skicka ett sånt vulgärt erbjudande med en synnerligen äcklig formgivning. Copyn måste även den ha skrivits av en hästhandlare. "Tacka ja till chansen..." Vilken uppriktigt menande människa skulle uttrycka sig så?    

Nu är inte jag representativ som konsument och kanske inte ens som människa, men jag är övertygad om att de hade kunnat investera variabeltryckspengarna på något bättre. Kanske på diplom till medarbetarna. Så att de får chansen att känna sig som vinnare för en gångs skull.

Nä, Postkodlotteriet. Ni får gå hem och göra om. Gör rätt denna gång. Eller i alla fall inte helt åt helvete fel.

Anderson et al. define ‘popular’ as “referring to anything that is widely liked … although this may be used in a derogatory way to imply a lack of artistic merit” (2005: 178).

This is concurrent with other theorists’ definitions of popular, such as Williams, who maps the evolution of the meaning of ‘popular’ from being synonymous with “low” in the first few centuries of the term’s use, to the late 18th Century meaning of “widespread”, to the late 19th Century, at which time the word held more positive connotations (Williams quoted in Kassabian 1999: 113-114). Kassabian notes the significant shift from the term being a way to look down on what appealed to the masses towards celebrating what the common people enjoyed (114).

These two definitions correspond, in that ‘popular’, as it relates to culture, is something that is liked by the masses, but traditionally non-elite.

Popular music is often defined by what it is not. The above definition of popular defines what we deem to be popular music. For example, Kassabian says, “the term has taken a ‘populist’ turn, ignoring what I call ubiquitous musics” (1999: 113). Ubiquitous musics are “the kinds of music that no one chooses for herself or himself but that nevertheless wash our everyday lives with sound” (ibid). That is, ubiquitous music is not included in popular music.

Adorno continues this trend of defining popular music as distinct from other types of music. He sees it as separate from ‘serious’ music (1941: 211).

Cranny-Francis (1994) summarises Adorno’s view by saying:

popular music is constituted by Adorno as the modernist equivalent of ‘formula’ or ‘genre’ fiction with all the negative connotations that entails (35).

She extends this to say:

Adorno’s theory of popular music is today engrained in common sense attitudes: popular music is often regarded as inferior music simply because it is popular (ibid).

In his article ‘On Popular Music’ (1941), Adorno defines popular music as distinct from ‘serious’ music (211) and expounds this by characterising popular music as standardised, whereas ‘serious’ music is unstandardised (211). He says:

the melody and the lyric of a popular number are constructed within a definite pattern of structural form, whereas the poem, or lyric, of a standard number has no structural confinements (222)

It is important to note, however, that a ‘standard’ song as the term is used in the above quote is synonymous with ‘serious’, and is the exact opposite of a ‘standardised’ popular song.

According to Adorno, standard elements of popular music include:

the rule that the chorus consists of thirty-two bars and that the range is limited to one octave and one note. The general types of hits are also standardized… …Most important of all, the harmonic cornerstones of each hit – the beginning and the end of each part – must beat out the standard scheme. (212)

Hence, ‘general types of hits’ to which Adorno refers to appear to be genres and songs with a common theme or tone, regardless of genre.

Adorno says the effect of standardisation is that, “the whole is pre-given and pre-accepted, even before the actual experience of the music starts” (212) and this means that “no stress is ever placed on the whole as a musical event, nor does the structure of the whole ever depend upon the details.” (212) He compares this to ‘serious’ music, in which “Every detail derives its musical sense from the concrete totality of the piece” (212). This is very important when considering the effect of popular music on the listener.

This academic theory on the terms ‘popular’ and ‘popular music’, does not seem to support the generally understood ideas about what is ‘pop’ and what is ‘alternative’. There is nothing in the above that helps us class black metal as less typical of ‘popular music’ than what we call ‘pop’ (music typically aired on daytime commercial radio). Hence, there is no academic basis for considering anything less ‘popular’ to be superior to any music that is more widely recognized and enjoyed. One of the most important things I think we need to remember in attacking popular music is that it’s popular for a reason. If that reason is that most people enjoy standardized (as Adorno uses the term), repetitive, unoriginal pop music as opposed to experimental jazz, for example, then so be it! What is wrong with that?

Il y inscrira 19 buts en 67 matchs, ce qui lui vaudra un transfert un Shakthar Donekst en Ukraine qui voit en lui un grand talent. En 2 ans, Jovanovic n'inscrira que 2 buts en 17 matchs. C'est alors que le Lokomotiv Moscou décide de le relancer. Il y jouera plus souvent mais tourmenté par des blessures à répétition il ne marquera que 7 buts en 41 matchs.

Arrivé par hasard au Standard

Libre, le joueur est entré en contact avec le Standard via le docteur Popovic qu'il a rencontré à l’occasion d’un contrôle médical. Après s'être renseigné, le bon docteur s'est mué en agent de joueur en proposant le joueur aux dirigeants liégeois. Le test sera concluant. Ailier gauche, il débutera pourtant, en raison de la pénurie d'attaquants à Sclessin, son premier match de championnat contre Lokeren en pointe de l'attaque. Très vite, Bisou ne tardera pas à faire l'unanimité. Ses dribbles déroutants,sa combativité, son accélération, sa vitesse en font un véritable poison pour les défenseurs adverses. La presse belge le surnomme le « Serpent » pour cette raison. La première saison sera un vrai succès puisqu'il inscrira 14 buts en championnat, 9 en coupe en de Belgique et un lors des préliminaires de la Ligue des Champions. Il atteindra la finale de la Coupe avec le club de la principauté. Il ne digèrera pas la défaite contre le FC Bruges.

Attaquant doué, il se révèle aussi un grand égoïste sur le terrain. Ce comportement lui vaudra moult occasions ratés ainsi qu'une engueulade avec Sergio Conceicao après un match contre le FC Bruges. Si "Le Serpent" est bien souvent inarêtable lancé à plaine vitesse, on lui reprochera aussi sa facilité à se laisser tomber une fois en vue du rectangle adverse. Jovanovic est aussi sûr de lui et n'hésite pas à affirmer au terme de la saison qu'il veut partir pour un club plus huppé jouant la C1 parce qu'il est "le meilleur attaquant de Belgique et...de loin"

L'homme des matchs importants

Si Jovanovic ne parvient pas à forcer son transfert vers un club évoluant en C1, il a fait du titre de champion de Belgique et de meilleur buteur ses objectifs principaux de la saison 2007-2008. Il parviendra au premier, formant avec Dieumerci Mbokani, un duo efficace qui inscrira 33 buts . Souffrant d'une pubalgie pendant le 2eme tour, Jova s'est surpassé pour inscrire des buts décisifs dont un doublé contre le FC Bruges. Jouant à la carte, sa capacité à se transfigurer pour les matchs au sommet aura grandement contribué au titre des Liégeois. Il ne fait aucun doute que l'international serbe ne continuera pas sa carrière au Standard tant à 27 ans, il se sent désormais l'âge de viser plus haut. Pour l'instant, L'OM, le FC Porto, Schalke 04, le Werder Brême et ...Anderlecht tenteraient de s'attacher ses services.

wie gehts wie stehts? Im Moment ist alles super hier, es läuft rund und ja ich habe einige Erfolge erzielt, die mir vor ein paar Monaten noch nicht möglich gewesen wären... :D :D

Ansonsten übe ich mich im Lesen und Zeichnen, Sachen die ich schon lange mal wieder machen wollte. Bald geht Moritz, der FSJler, der jetzt für etwas mehr als ein halbes Jahr da war. Aber ich werde den wahrscheinlich eh mal in Stuttgart auf ein Bierchen treffen, wenn ich dann schonma für meine Berufsschule da bin... Tja, schade alles geht vorbei. Loslassen fällt mir trotzdem schwer, seis die Vergangenheit oder meine Sorgen oder liebe Menschen. Aber das ist wahrscheinlich "kreatürlich" ...

purtroppo c'era poca gente: dobbiamo riflettere sulla nostra capacità (intendo del "movimento", ma anche delle grandi aziende) di coinvolgere i tecnici (specie della PA) su eventi così interessanti

Sutor è stato semplicemente grande: ha parlato con la semplicità dei grandi delle sfide che ci aspettano, riuscendo a condensare in pochi punti espressi con linguaggio piano aspetti anche complessi ... che differenza da molti nostri super-esperti che pensano che sia obbligatorio parlare forbito-complesso-astruso!

I stepped out of the baggage claim into the lounge and a man asked me "Taxi?" and I said "yes I'm looking for a taxi". My lapse of common sense led me to actually talk to this guy when I should have gone outside and grabbed a street taxi. I told him the hotel and he said "70 Riyals" I said "What?? 70?? No 50!" he said "WHAT? 50? Outside the taxis will charge 80!" I said "Ok then 60?" (My bargaining skills have far improved since I blundered by saying this) and he said "no!" I said "ok" and turned to walk away, and he said "No no come!!"

In the LONG ride we had a talk, the guy "seemed" sincere to me talking about Allaah and how he lived a pious life and never drank and smoked. I said MashaAllaah and conversed with him. I noticed the trip was taking WAY too long. He stopped at the hotel and I asked him "How far to the Markaz at-Tijaaree?" he said "Oh that's very far, near the airport, if you want me to wait until you check i'll give you a discount, all together 100 Riyals". I said "Let me check in first". I ask the Hotel clerk and he says "It's only 10 minutes, I say 10 riyals by taxi". I knew this guy was a crook. I gave him the 60 Riyals (which I write off alhamdulillaah).

This ability to write off my taxi rides for work gave me an insight into the different types of taxi drivers here. I summarize them into three:

1) The Liar

2) The bargainer

3) The honest & humble one

The liar is like the guy I described above. I'll give another example, any taxi driver in Saudi who turns the Meter on when you get in and judges by the meter is RIPPING YOU OFF. NO one goes by the meter here, the meter is a designated rip off. We took a taxi from the Sheraton by the corniche to my dingy hotel on the unnamed street (the street has no name but everyone knows the dingy hotel) and the Ma'roof (known) taxi ride is 15 Riyals... at MAX 20. The meter said 40. This guy who had the outward appearance of being religious (meaning he had his beard) had started to say "La la Akal Haraam, Ma Abghaa Akal haraam" in his defense of the 40 Riyals when we quoted 20. He was saying "No No, I dont want to eat from the Haraam" when we told him that he's charging us too much. He points to the meter and says "Hada hukoomah" (this is the legislated price) so we say that the known price is 20 and he throws a 10 at as as if it's charity and says "ok 30". We argue with him on this for 10 minutes whilst we knew he was lying to our faces and trying to cheat us.

This mentality is well-known and you learn it from the honest drivers. One driver told us that he charged us 20 riyals only because the location was the Sheraton, besides that the cost would be 10.

The bargainer is the guy who will try argue with you about the price but the moment you walk away he'll call you back and agree, he knows he charges too much. Or he'll try bluff you and drive off, most of the time this is what happens.

The honest guy, and i've met a few of these, will give you the standard discount price off the bat. He doesnt play games with you. And sometimes you'll get the "You choose". One guy mashaAllaah he said to me "You give me whatever you want even if it's one riyal". Usually I dont like this, because i'm stuck in a spot... I might not know the standard price. But if I do, I just quote the standard and they never argue.

I dont mind the Bargainer or the honest fellow, but the liar... those people I cannot stand, if I detect a person is lying to me by saying something like "No this is the standard" when it's clearly not, I wont even waste my time with him, if he doesnt accept my quote I close the door and walk away.

This is some significant competition for SpotRunner, whose sole purpose is to provide easy-to-use, small scale online TV buying in local markets.

I played with both and noticed one big difference: SpotRunner requires a $1,000 minimum buy, whereas AdWords appears to let you get by at just $150/day. You can get your feet wet with Google's TV ad buying very, very cheaply. Of course, with both services you'll still need to create an ad, but these days many savvy small business owners can just whip up something in iMovie.

Meanwhile, in the world of online buying of online video ads, the IAB finally released some up-to-date online video ad guidelines (pdf).

They're boring to read and surely even more boring to implement, but this is important since finally we'll have some sort of standardization for fledgling online ad formats like video overlays. I'm a big fan of video overlay ads -- a 5-10 second animation on the lower fifth of an online video playback. Overlays combined with a 300x250 companion ad may prove to be a great online video monetization strategy. It punches through the 'clutter' of ads -- the end-user notices the ad -- but it doesn't get in the way of viewing the desired content. A win, win?

The meta story here is that buying video ads is becoming standardized for online AND offline video content. We can talk all day about the convergence already taking place by end-users watching Lost and the Office on their computers. Now the über-important revenue stream -- easy ad buying by the masses -- is catching up to the convergence party.

Etter at Mathias hadde gitt oss ledelsen på en skikkelig kontring, falt vi tilbake på banen og lot store sterke bondegutter fra Ås overta og styre kampen. Ås' gode skyttere fikk både tid og rom til å lade sine kanoner. Det gikk ut over både keeper og utespillere. Kristian måtte ut med skade i 1. omgang etter et knallhardt skudd som også ble mesterlig reddet.

I 2. omgang fortsatte kanonaden mot vårt mål og kun gode redninger fra reservekeeper Brage hindret et større tap. Vi ble litt for passive i forsvarsspillet og klarte aldri å komme igang med vårt finspill på et humpete underlag. Vi har aldri vært kjente for å være et fysisk sterkt lag og har lett for å bli motløse mot tøffe motstandere. Noen taklinger var ikke pene, men vi må også regne med at fysikken blir tøffere fremover. Det er stor forskjell på lagene i avdelingen.

Vi hadde våre sjanser til å pynte på resultatet. Trym kom gjennom 2-3 ganger men klarte ikke å sette ballen i mål. Til tider spilte vi oss fint fra forsvar og fremover på banen, men vi stagget i aggressive motstandere og kom ikke til like mange avslutninger som vi pleier.

Kanskje skal vi øve mer på spill i lengderetning og raske overganger. Det kan være nyttig i slike kamper. Alt i alt kjempet våre gutter godt selv om overmakten ble for stor denne gangen. Neste uke møter vi oss selv. Da blir det garantert seier...
