Persona 4 Op Theme
Perfomed by : Shihoco Hirata
Composed by : Shoji Meguro

we are living our lives, abound with so much information
Come on, let go of the remote
Don't you know you are letting all the junk flood in?
I try to stop the flows, double clicking on the 'go'
But it's no use, hey, i'm being consumed

Loading, loading, loading
Quickly reach my maximum capacity
Warning, warning, warning
Gonna short circuit my identity

Get up pn your feet, tear down the wallks, cathc a glimps of the hollow world
Snooping around will get you nowhere, you are locked up in your mind

we are all trapped in maze of relationships that goes on with or without you
i swim in the sea of unconscious, i'll search for your heart,
Pursuing my true--- Self...

---

I LOVE THIS SONG VERY MUCH!!!! Unlike Burn My Dread that i have to squint very hard listening to it, barely knowing what Kawamura-san said, this is so much easier!
O, i love Meguro's style!! I can't quite define the genres but if you are familiar with Shoji Meguro's style of Persona 3 songs, you'll definitely like this!!

Here, watch the video!!

Earlier this week, the soundtrack to Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog was made available on iTunes.

For less than ten bucks, you can relive the unadulterated awesome of Joss Whedon's epic, web-musical. If you'd like, you can even mosey over to the Dr. Horrible website and take a gander at the liner notes and lyrics.

Personally, I can not get enough of "Bad Horse Chorus"; in fact, I think I'm going to find three guys and hire them to dress up as cowboys and deliver all of my missives in verse. But, let's be honest, each song pretty much hits the ball out of the park, from Neil Patrick Harris' lovelorn stalker anthem "My Freeze Ray" to Nathan Fillion's narcissistic "A Man's Gotta Do" or "Everyone's a Hero" (you can almost hear him swagger, I swear). And, although Felicia Day breaks your heart with "Caring Hands" and "Penny's Song", I think "My Eyes" (her duet with NPH) is her real shining moment.

This should keep me happy until the DVD--with singing commentary!--is released.

second slice from the Original Broadway production of West Side Story and what else could it be other than this one. themusicologist only knows this song from watching the film as a youngblood growing up in the 70's and 80's but this cut is the only one that I can still see in my minds eye. an excellent piece of social commentary about what was a growing concern for America in the second half of the 50's, Juvenile Delinquents.

The dilemma seems to have been a question of how to make money out of teenagers without too much cost to society. As first America, (and then the world), was manouvered away from a 'needs' and into into a 'desires' culture this proved impossible.

Emotions are a dangerous playground and a 'got to have it at any cost' mentality was never going to be conducive to a harmonious society. Some of the problems we now face are related to this move into desires in part because emotional responses are not rational so if one desires something they are more likely to be irrational in the pursuit of it. leading, in a ever increasing number of cases, to a 'by any means necessary' approach to the aquisition of such things.

I'm short of time, but this song has been reverberating in my head for about a week. I had never really listened to the words, but absolutely love the song. There is something very reminiscent about Todd Rundgren in it, so I love it. The only thing is this. If you watch the video, as an adult, you might just snort coffee (or tea) through your nose. All adults are apparently terrified of teenagers. I have seen this occasionally, but honestly, the video cracks me up. Another distorted view of real life. They are teenagers, though, so there is that short framework of reference issue, but damn. Very very funny. The band is the New Radicals. Um, yeah. I do hope the lead singer can get another gig. He has a good voice.

Other than a big problem with time management, all is well here. Have a wonderful Thursday everybody!!

I have always loved movie score soundtracks. The instrumental music that nobody ever really pays attention to.

My favorite, by far, has to be Rachel Portman's work. It's very light and airy; feminine and pretty. The Chocolat soundtrack has always been one of my favorites, and today I just uploaded the soundtrack for Emma. It's just so astoundingly beautiful!

I guess I'm excited because I love fallins asleep to music like this. It allows the imagination to wander.

That's all :)

I have to say something about my jogging experience in Chicago.

I have to say something about my jogging experience in Chicago.

7 am, lago Michigan, a lot of people do jogging in here.

Ovviamente solo qui riesco a capire dove siano i punti cardinali.

To Run: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9

To Think and strech: 1, 2, 3, 4

Nite.

Y quiero regalaroslas.

This article originally appeared on Gigwise.

“I had to do this myself”. David Holmes, DJ, composer and soundtrack arranger extraordinaire, is contemplating the introspective process of putting together his long awaited fourth album proper, “The Holy Pictures”. The new album is a monumental roller-coaster of emotion that sucks the marrow of Holmes’ life in Belfast city and commits it to tape in all its expansive technicolor. It deals with love, birth, heartbreaking loss and the ever present spectre of death and mortality, tracing it’s conceptual genesis back to his mother’s passing in the mid nineties. It’s a departure from the ostentatious fantasy soundtracks that you may expect from Holmes, an album of constant juxtaposition encapsulating the stark collision of tragedy and joy seeking that the world has watched unfurl through Belfasts streets on news reports over the last thirty years. At once uplifting yet haunting, it has certainly been the most difficult album he’s put together but it may very well be the best thing he’s ever done.

Having spent the summer reacquainting himself with live audiences across the festival circuit with appearances at events such as The Big Chill and Green Man, David is currently back in Belfast preparing for the release of “The Holy Pictures” and battling against the floods currently sweeping Northern Ireland. “It’s not so bad, I’ve been getting used to this for the last 30 odd years, so you know, but it’s been the wettest summer on record. The worst thing about that is that it just goes straight into winter which is so depressing.” The prospect of eternal winter may explain his unmusician like enjoyment of current promotional duties. “ Well I’ve been doing a lot of press for the new record, and, well interviews are fine if you actually have something to say, you get approached all the time for interviews when you’ve nothing to say, but now I do, so it’s been fun.”

Between his mothers death in 1996 and the release of ‘The Holy Pictures’ Holmes has recorded countless soundtracks, most notably working with Steven Soderbergh on the Oceans franchise, other solo albums and worked with the Free Association before finally getting down to in earnest to the process of soundtracking the experiences and themes that he had been building and storing over the last decade. Given the themes of the ‘The Holy Pictures” it is a surprisingly joyous album with tracks such as first single “I Heard Wonders” and “Holy Pictures” conjuring Kevin Shieldsesque tinged, techno-soulled wall of sound binges. “When you have a record that’s this personal, it’s roots firmly planted in Belfast and family, through major loss in your life, losing your parents, losing your friends it’s a hard process”, notes Holmes looking back, “but it’s not just about that, I think there’s a very positive air about the record too, like a celebration. I don’t think it’s a depressing record. So what I was trying to say is that it’s the process that began back then, and the whole process of this record was very organic, I just never felt ready before.”

The organic approach left Holmes with an unprecedented period of creativity producing vast swathes of material as he searched for the perfect tracks to complete his vision. “It got to the stage where I had 30 or 40 tracks so it was definitely a case of editing down for this album, and there were some cases where I was writing 4 or 5 tracks just to get one that I really liked.” Initially Holmes concept was a loose ideal, he just knew that he wanted to make an album with solidity and cohesion that captured his experiences growing up and becoming a man within his family and his home city. Pinpointing as he has the death of his mother as the beginnings of this desire it was a second death that focused his mind onto the concept of “The Holy Pictures”. “It was when my father died thats when all the lyrics started coming”, he recalls. “There were some tracks that were inspired by other people in my life, my best friend, people still alive and people lost in tragic circumstances, but it was when my father died, that’s when I went into the studio and tried to encapsulate how I felt, not just about losing my dad but being parent-less. When you lose the second parent it’s a very different hit to the first because suddenly you’ve got no one. So thats what I was really aiming to capture when I went into the studio, to encapsulate how I felt in the music and words.” Holmes has more than succeeded in conveying the duplicity and complications of loss, nowhere more viscerally than on the albums ethereal closer “The Ballad of Sarah and Jack”, that lilts into view on a minimalist piano line and grows to flood the surroundings, sweeping the listener into its world.

But for all the loss surrounding “The Holy Pictures” perhaps one of the defining moments comes in the last 20 seconds of “Hey Maggy” where we hear Holmes’ daughter on tape for the first time. “Well I had a daughter along the way so that changed a lot of things. That was actually her first realisation she liked somebody. I was up in my control room and she walked into my live room when the microphone was still on and I could just hear her so I hit record.” The resulting recording is the sound of a child lighting up with an innocent joy so penetrating that it serves as a fulcrum around which the entire album twists. It’s a powerful reminder amongst an album inspired by such loss that life and family will always be a continuos saga. “It was just amazing to hear her expressing that she liked someone and to understand what that mean so it was a really special moment.” The album also features slightly more conventional appearances form Martin Rev of Suicide who feature on the track “I Heard Wonders”. “Martin was just someone I really wanted to have singing on the record. Most people know him as a keyboard player, but if you’ve ever checked any of his solo stuff... I just love his voice, it’s really sweet but menacing at the same time.”

The productivity of ‘“The Holy Pictures” has left Holmes with a wealth of excess material, including what he mutes as some of his best work but tracks that just did not fit the purpose of the album, “there were some tracks that people close to me really questioned leaving off, “ he recalls. But when hearing the album as a whole it is hard to imagine how it could be reworked or edited in any way. Fans shouldn’t despair though as the tracks are all intended to be released in various formats whether through downloads or bonus tracks or with magazines. Some may well even find there way into the projects that Holmes is already working on. Indeed as a man who, including soundtracks, has averaged nearly 2 albums a year for the last 11 years it is no surprise to find that the future has Holmes working on several soundtracks as well as renewing his relationship with director Soderbergh on an upcoming project . So there will be no shortage of David Holmes activity in the coming months or years, but right now “The Holy Pictures” allows us to take a look behind the curtain of an incredible musical mind to discover his roots and his soul. This is not just a soundtrack to an unshot film, this is David Holmes giving his actual self to you on record, and an astonishing ride.

I like the Wordless Wednesday posts. I have a couple of problems with it. I cannot shut the hell

I like the Wordless Wednesday posts. I have a couple of problems with it. I cannot shut the hell up. I also cannot take a picture to save my life. So, unless you want to bind my hands and send me good pictures, I'm out of this one. I have noticed there are many cool little "aids" for blogging. I have also realized that I am not using any of them. I also do not do meme's anymore. I'm not certain why. Part of it must be my lack of focus. When I sit down to write my posts, I just meander all over the place. Remarking on things that interest me or infuriate me, or whatever. I believe it is a rebellion against organization and order. Since Mom has become more confused and unable to sort mentally, I have had to step up and take care of that. She is by no means bad. She is failing, though. We are set to have her memory tested and have her checked out neurologically. That will occur in October. I'm not sure that it's a good idea. There is something about that that makes me wonder if "knowing" will be worse than just guessing. Still, if there is something that can be done, and she wants to do it. We will. She is still engaged in life and loves being with people. It's the little things, words, stories, that she has difficulty with and it breaks my heart to hear her struggle with the words. I'm not telling you this for sympathy. Or, to whine. It is what it is and we need to deal with it. Another hurdle in life. Another bittersweet aspect of aging in a society that takes such good care of our bodies that we lose our minds first. I just pray that she remains content and engaged. We have such an incredible support network (of which you are a big part), I feel truly blessed.

So, the knitting? I have waffled and dallied and screwed around the past two weeks. Nothing solid to show, but also nothing bad. I had to rip 4" of the "little pink scarf" because it fell off the needle and got all messed up. Still, it came back just fine and I'm very happy with it. I cannot wait to finish it. It's pink and purdy and lacy and soft. What else can you want?

The Cosmo Cardigan is on a tiny time-out. It wasn't bad. It was in the way. I wanted to finish the "little pink scarf" and the cardigan was being knit while the temps rose. As soon as the "little pink scarf" is completed, I will return once more to Thing II (sleeve 2 of the Cosmo Cardi).

Have you seen the new hoodie from Bonne Marie at Chic Knits???? I am also madly in love with Cassidy. Bonne should take a vacation so that I could get back and finish the Ribby Cardi. Yes. I am the only knit blogger that has not knit the Ribby Cardi. Give me a break. I told you I was slow! I have the Eyelet Cardi pattern, too. That, and CeCe. I started CeCe and set her aside for the "little pink scarf". I am such a magpie. Sheesh.

So, today, my soundtrack has worked its way back to the 60's. Playboy after Dark? OMG. If it weren't for the Grateful Dead and "St. Stephen", I would have laughed until I was sick.

A música é enlouquecedoramente romântica.

For all of those who are not yet aware, the Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog Soundtrack is now available from iTunes. Download early. Download often. Well, do it once and then listen to it a bunch of times. I burned it right away so I could listen to it both to and from my mind-numbing, soul-crushing job! Believe me, on the way home, it was only the Whedons' words and Neil Patrick Harris -along with Felicia Day and Nathan Fillion- who kept me from total insanity. That, and the line "And for six terrifying hours, I delivered phone books in Queens" from Coyote Ugly. Yeah, my job is really that bad.

Now, back on to the album. Anyone who has seen Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog and loved it should buy the soundtrack. These songs are infinitely catchy and sing-alongable. I know. I sang them twice all the way to work and at least 4 times through all the way back from work (I got stuck in some traffic, and then got myself a little lost). Anyone who hasn't seen Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, that's okay -as long as you rectify that immediately by going to Hulu.com and watching it, and then of course buying the soundtrack. It is an on-line musical by Joss Whedon about a wanna-be supervillain. What more could anyone possibly want out of life? On my end, only heading to a better job could possibly improve an already wonderful CD full of witticisms and harmonic angst done well.

Requiem for a Dream - Darren Aronofsky

Sunshine - Danny Boyle

Babylon A.D. - Mathieu Kassovitz
