Per gli utilizzatori assidui di Facebook (nonchè fieri utilizzatori di Mac) c'è un plug-in di iPhoto del quale non dovrebbero fare a meno.

Questo plug-in (scaricabile qui) è molto utile per chi su Facebook ha la necessità di uppare molte foto che magari tiene organizzate proprio in iPhoto. La comodità sta nel fatto che, lato desktop, è possibile utilizzare tutte le funzionalità di iPhoto come l'editing per migliorare le immagini, raddrizzarle o ridimensionarle e per chi volesse poi upparle nel proprio album di Facebook.

L'utilizzo è proprio semplice: si seleziona la foto su iPhoto e poi Archivio>Esporta... e da lì basta selezionare "Facebook". Una volta fatta questa semplicissima operazione, attraverso l'interfaccia del plug-in ci si logga su Facebook (che avviaerà il browser per confermare tale richiesta ma va fatto solo una volta).

Una volta loggati tramite plug-in è possibile fare tutte le operazioni che si possono fare su Facebook: taggare delle persone (che compariranno in un'apposita lista) aggiungere commenti ed infine creare album-Facebook all'interno dei quali piazzare le foto.

Io l'ho provato e devo dire che è molto molto comodo nonostante l'interfaccia di upload delle immagini di Facebook sia molto semplice e intuitiva poichè permette di navigare nel proprio filesystem per scegliere i files. L'operazione si fa complicata se, appunto, le foto da uppare sono gestite da iPhoto che sappiamo bene tiene in una sua cartella.

Con questo plug-in le operazioni non si fanno via browser ma in locale semplificando molto il processo di scelta delle foto da uppare.

Je cherchais donc une alternative en attendant de savoir pourquoi Windows Live Messenger Beta refuse de s’installer. C’est ainsi que je suis tombe sur Digsby. Je l’avais deja teste en début d’année mais je n’étais pas convaincu:

• Il était gourmand en mémoire
• Abusait des cycles CPU
• En s’installant, sur tous les navigateurs, il vous change automatiquement la page d’accueil (je, nous, détestons les logiciels intrusifs qui font ce qu’on leur a rien demande).

En parcourant leur forum, je découvre que plusieurs corrections ont été apportees au soft. C’est ainsi que je lui ai donne une seconde chance. Résultat des courses, même s’il reste toujours cette terrible envie de changer a chaque la page d’accueil du navigateur internet, il est plus stable et moins gourmand.

Ce logiciel se démarque de la horde Trillian, Admium, Mirinda, Pidgin par le fait qu’il permet d’être également connecte sur ses sites de réseaux sociaux possédant des modules de chats: Facebook Chat, Twitter, Myspace, Linkedin… Autrement dit vous avez également accès a ces clients de messagerie dans le logiciel, vous permettant d’initier un chat avec n’importe quel personne dans votre réseau social étant connecte au site en question.

Très utile surtout quand on sait que les conversations ont de plus en plus tendance a se déplacer vers les site de réseaux sociaux.

Fonctionnalité intéressante également, le logiciel permet d’ajouter a volonté ses comptes emails, de tel sorte que vous recevez une alerte a chaque fois qu’un email vous est adresse (il y a une pléthore de services: yahoo, hotmail, gmail, serveur privée, etc…).

Cote fonctionnel du chat, on retrouve les classiques, conversations par onglets, différents thèmes pour organiser la conversation (classique, ou avec des bulles). Une facon tres intellegente d’utiliser les alertes de messages recues:

• quand la fenetre de chat est baissee une alerte apparait avec le message recu, il est possible de repondre dans l’alerte !

C’est encore une beta, mais c’est déjà un très bon produit. Par contre la voix et la webcam ne sont pas supportées.

The most important changes in Amarok 2.0 Beta 2 are:

· Incremental scanning support;
· Download and listen to public domain audio books, thanks to the LibriVox library included in this version;
· The Last.fm and Lyrics applets were fixed;
· Improved stability.

Let's take a quick look at some of the features of Amarok 2.0 Beta 2:

· You can now move files into collections in the Filebrowser;

The project had a goal - site-deploy that I wanted to execute within Hudson. Within my pom.xml, I had the following:

Try as I might to overcome this, I couldn't...at least not within Hudson! At least for my configuration, when Hudson executed my Maven2 projects, it will run as root (you can tell 'cuz the Maven repository is stored in /root/.m2/repository). So do this:

root@remoteserver:~$ cd /path/to/mvn/project

root@remoteserver:/path/to/mvn/project$ mvn clean site-deploy

Accept the authentication and wait for the build to complete and deploy. If you are to run Hudson now, it will work.

Huh? What happened? The reason can be found here. In other words, Hudson could not deploy because it could not authenticate and accept the remote connection!

Well, I hope the above helps save some hours for those in the similar predicament!

Microsoft's Vista, Apple has released a well-known "I'm a Mac" ads. The advertisement gives the impression: Vista has a lot of technical flaws, poor ease of use. While Microsoft recently has been for Apple to launch a counterattack ad, but Microsoft has been doing a bit too late, Vista's brand image has been damaged.

By 2008, global PC is using the machine the total has reached 11 million, of which 70% running Windows XP operating system, which means that the world's nearly 8 million PC machine is the use of XP. This fully demonstrates that: XP has become history, the most widely used operating system. For the vast majority of ordinary users, all of a sudden they are very difficult to adapt to the new product. For business users, they have to consider the new product and application-specific software compatibility problems in the Vista upgrade issue will be extra cautious.

Windows XP was welcomed by the market, one of the important reasons is that it's hardware, software and driver compatibility better. However, in the Vista release, Microsoft seems to have forgotten the compatibility of the important role of the user. • There is a centralized handler for the exception. There are several reasons for implementing centralized handlers, including code reuse. A better solution is to catch the DataException type and propagate the DuplicateNameException when necessary. This is one catch statement versus 12 catch statements and eliminates redundant code.
• Catch an exception to gather information or to report on an exception, and then propagate the exception.

To propagate an exception, rethrow the same exception or another exception in the catch block. An empty throw statement propagates the caught exception. Alternatively, throw a different exception.

Exceptions might propagate through several layers of an application. Ultimately, the exception could percolate to the user interface level. As an exception percolates, the exception becomes less specific. Exceptions from the lower echelon of an application contain detailed information appropriate to the application developer, but probably not relevant to the user. Internal exceptions might contain security and other sensitive information not appropriate for a benign (or malicious) user. Record the facts of the internal exception if logging is preferable. Exceptions that reach the user should present user-relevant information: a user-friendly message, steps to resolve the exception, or even a customer support link.

When an original exception is rethrown, you can preserve the that exception in the InnerException attribute. NB : Bila 2 file itu anda copy dan paste ke halaman desktop folder atau drive di explorer windows anda maka akan menciptakan efek yang sama seperti di flashdisk tadi.

A Microsoft resolveu dar mais seis meses de vida ao sistema operativo Windows XP para além do previsto. A multinacional volta a dar esperança aos utilizadores que não querem migrar para o Vista.

A Microsoft volta assim atrás na decisão de deixar de comercializar o Windows XP, que ainda é o preferido de muitos utilizadores e empresas.

A decisão implica que os fabricantes de PC vão poder continuar a vender computadores com o Vista, mas com um CD do sistema operativo XP, até 31 de Julho de 2009 e não até 31 de Janeiro, como a empresa pretendia inicialmente.

Em comunicado citado pelo portal CNET News a Microsoft defende que «há medida em que cada vez mais utilizadores migram para o Windows Vista, queremos ter a certeza de que eles fazem a transição com confiança e o menos penoso possível», por isso a empresa considera esta iniciativa como fazendo parte do seu compromisso de os ajudar.

Segundo dados divulgados pelo CEO da Microsoft, Steve Ballmer, durante o périplo europeu que o levou a várias cidades europeias, entre as quais Lisboa, até à data já foram vendidas 180 milhões de cópias do Vista desde o seu lançamento. SOL

Questo sarebbe il rapporto di restituzioni di NetBook secondo MSI, azienda che certamente non ha fatto sfoggio di grandi investimenti nel software del pinguino, limitandosi a distribuire qualche frusta e pesante SUSE, peraltro introvabile nei nostri negozi, tutto a vantaggio del solito WIndowsXP.

Che il consumatore medio sia un abitudinario e che questo giochi a tutto vantaggio di Microsoft non è un mistero. Il fatto è che non basta sbattere dentro il primo Linux che capita e dire al cliente di farsi contento del cinquantone che andrà a risparmiare. Occorre investire, lo abbiamo ribadito fino alla noia, in interfaccia e in usabilità del software.

Questo però è un argomento che non piace ai costruttori che verrebbero a spendere molto più del preventivato. Si scoprono così le differenze occulte nei costi di case come Apple che dell'interazione con l'utilizzatore hanno fatto il loro fiore all'occhiello.

Purtroppo nel settore dei netbook questo si è visto troppo, ma troppo poco.

Ci ha provato Asus all'inizio con il suo Xandros, ed è proprio quello sforzo che ha esaltato gente come chi sta scrivendo, ma poi ha lasciato tutto lì in sospeso, facendo finta di dimenticarsi della personalizzazione che non esiste e dell'intuitività di accesso ai propri files (documenti, immagini, musica…), al momento per tutti ancora troppo lungo e tortuoso.

Per forza, allora, che WIndows vince (anche se alla lunga questa comodità la paghi!). Ed ecco che saltano fuori i ripensamenti. Per un'Acer che afferma quanto pesi la scelta dell'interfaccia e l'orientamento su Linux assieme alla promessa di continuità di sforzo in queste direzioni (e che viene pagata con questo dal successo di mercato che sbaraglia i risultati di tutte le altre marche), ci tocca assistere alla svendita e al tradimento dei propri impegni iniziali di gran parte degli altri.

Dopo Asus, adesso anche Dell, prima ancora di uscire con il proprio Inspiron Mini 9 con Ubuntu NBR privo della ben che minima personalizzazione, orienta i propri clienti sulle versioni carrozzate XP.

La restaurazione è dietro l'angolo: presto la rivoluzione dei NetBook potrebbe tradursi in un fuoco di paglia.
