I have to quarrel regarding the airing but can we not limit it.

One, the there are already too many shows with same theme or line of message if there are.

I am batting for shifting to reality shows and note worthy talk shows at the TV prime time.

A Oprah type will be a good model.

Second, our kids who usually are glued practically every night are not getting the needed substance they are supposed to get from television.

Television whether we like or not is the most influential medium.

Nearly all houses regardless of status in life have television sets.

All open especially during primetime that product owners are willing to pay five figure rates in every 15 seconds to advertise their goods.

Let us maximize therefore the presence of television by choosing the shows that have enough substance or meat for the brains of ours and our children.

Let us look for better shows if we are fed up of same kind of shows.

I firmly believe that if we are more concern in the shows we are watching eventually it will reflect in the television rating.

Owners of television stations will follow thats for sure!

sa aking opinyon, walang masamang tumakbo ang mga artista sa ano mang posisyon sa gobyerno. karapatan niya iyon at hindi dapat ipagkait. hindi dapat natin kinukutya ang mga artistang nangangarap na tayo ay paglingkuran. hindi naman lahat ng artista ay bobo. at wala para sakin na may bobong artista. wala naman sigurong artista na hindi rasyunal dahil nakapasok sila sa industriya na kailangan ng rasyunal na pag-iisip.

kung sila ay naging walang silbi para sa gobyerno maari natin silang sisihin pero huwag naman sagaran ang pagsisisi. tao ang naghalal sa kanila at ang malaking sisi din diyan ay ang tao. kung hindi ka naman bumoto ng artista, hindi ka pa rin lusot sa gusot ng mga taong bumoto sa kanila. isa kang parte ng mga botante, bumoto ka man para sa artistang politiko o hindi.

Larry Harmon, the man who not only played Bozo the Clown for many years, but turned the character into an institution has died. He passed away at his home due to congestive heart failure at the age of 83. Bozo the Clown was a character created by writer & producer Alan W. Livingston. The clown created for a series of children's records in 1946 would delight them for decades. Harmon was not the first nor would he the last to play the lovable clown. Unlike the others, he would take the job and run with it--eventually purchasing the rights to the character. He turned a casting call for personal appearances into big business.

Now we all know Clowns are creepy as all get out but I've always been intrigued by Harmon.

He was born in Toledo, Ohio and managed the character brilliantly. He'd basically lease out the character and name to local markets and then train those picked to play the role (something like 200 or so). I can only imagine what it'd be like to create or be a part of history like that. A character that would live on for half a century! I mean from the start in 1946 to the last pie to the face in Chicago, in 2001 it was a staple, a mainstay, a (enter cliched phrase here).

They're still creepy! Need proof? Hell In Washington, D.C. Bozo was portrayed for a time by Willard Scott!!!

It don't get creepier than that!

My advice? You should make an indie film to make a film. Period. Artistic and commercial success don’t correlate well, and at the moment, only the former is remotely within your control.

If I had to do it all over again, I would have made the same movie but completely rethought how it went out into the world. I would have challenged a lot of the standard operating procedures, which seem to be part of an indie world that no longer exists. The Nines would have likely made just as little at the box office, but could have made a bigger impact on a bigger audience. Ultimately, I think that’s how you need to measure the success of an indie film’s release: how many people saw it.

He's got a lot to say, including that Theatrical releasing is overrated and Sundance buzz is meaningless.

But to get back to his point -- you as a filmmaker will always have a different agenda than whomever is producing or distributing (even if that person is you).

The filmmaker just wants to share their work with the largest possible audience.  To communicate and to move people.  The producer and distributor wants to make money from showing it to those people.

Sometimes those goals are in conflict, or at least they appear to be.

Especially nowadays when it takes a massive amount of cash to build awareness and get anyone remotely excited enough to shell out $10 or more to see your film in a theater and $20 to buy it on DVD.  If it's an unknown quantity, they are not going to want to buy it.

That's why you as a filmmaker want to give it away.  You want to build that audience because that's the only thing you can directly influence.  That influence has value to you moving forward in your career because there will always be someone who is better at producing than you that will want to try and use your influence with the audience to make them lots of money.

When I say that independent film is dead, I'm mostly talking about the pipe dream of theatrical distribution.  That's a money losing affair, even big studios look at major releases like Pirates of the Caribbean as a loss leader for merch, DVD, TV licensing, etc.

And look who the messenger is on this, not some sort of Hollywood outsider or new media miscreant, this is the dude that wrote the Charlie's Angels movies.  He has more access to the system than you or me (even taking into account how much writer's are shat upon in Hollywood).

If he's having these problems and learning these lessons, you will too.

Rene Franco no pasa de ser un imitador chafa de Conan O Brien con su late-night show de petatiux, Horacio Villalobos no sale de sus jotadas, no se le ocurre nada nuevo y Bisogno programa que le dan programa que fracasa. Pero ellos muy dados de si, todo lo hacen bien y fantástico.

Bien por ellos, que suman un fracaso mas ahora en radio, y por nosotros como radioescuchas, pues ya va siendo hora que la radio programa más música si no tiene nada mejor que ofrecer.

Stars are at each other throats over a Hollywood labor dispute.

Tom Hanks is aligning himself with one union while Jack Nicholson and Ben Stiller are backing another in a growing feud that threatens to shut down Tinseltown.

Hanks has signed an e-mail trying to convince members of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) to accept a deal, which was negotiated by union leaders with the studio bosses.

Meanwhile Nicholson and Stiller are appearing in ads that ask AFTRA actors to cast a “No” vote on the same deal. The two celebs are supporting AFTRA’s adversary, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG). SAG leaders contend that the AFTRA deal is weak and damages SAG’s ability to obtain a better contract.

Enter stage left, Hollywood Diplomat George Clooney.

“What we can't do is pit artist against artist,” Clooney writes in an open letter.

He points out that “the one thing you can be sure of is that stories about Jack Nicholson vs. Tom Hanks only strengthens the negotiating power of the AMPTP [the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, the studios’ organization for bargaining with the unions].”

Clooney wisely advises, “Maybe we could find a way to get what both unions are looking for.”

A strike hurts everyone, especially small businesses and their employees, who are dependent on the show biz industry for their customers.

Sadly, the recent writers’ strike cost the local economy an estimated 37,000 jobs and $2.1 billion.

Most of these are the best in their respective genre. A couple are in there just because I haven't watched them yet. The great thing about Netflix was that it stocked all of these as well as all your standards, both Hollywood as well as Bollywood. How do the Indian rental services compete?

The very first impression of this film is its poor technical skills. It starts with an overuse of poor computer-generated imagery and then refuses to let go. When you're making a movie in India, filling a stadium with extras and filming them watch a President speak while US and Indian flags flutter overhead can't be the most expensive thing in the movie, especially if you're making the most expensive Indian movie ever. But watch in horror as you gaze upon a series of 2 dimensional cutouts standing in for real people, a fake flag fluttering in the wind, a fake temple gopuram, fake boats in a fake river making fake ripples as they float by, all of it culminating with a fake shark in a fake ocean. Of course, it didn't have to be this way. But Kamal had apparently decided that the only thing that peoplw would want to watch in this movie would be he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he and he, so really why not just cheaply generate and animate the rest of it? There is a Kamal who is inserted in the movie by a computer, the ultra-tall Kamal. Needless to say, this Kamal looks fake also, he seems to shimmer on surfaces instead of standing on them, he seems to be in his surroundings at times, and mostly just stuck in there. There is one good touch when tall Kamal casually ducks to avoid banging his head against a short door, but when you've said that you've said everything for the quality of special effects on display here. And then there's the butterfly. Oh God, the butterfly. A butterfly flits across the screen. The narrator talks about the butterfly effect. It's, what, 15 years since Forrest Gump made a beautiful feather flit across the screen and no one the wiser that it was fake? And we still can't get a realistic bloody butterfly to flit hither and thither and not look like it was painted on by a second rate artist?

I am no Tamil genius, but in my limited understanding, there were but two flashes of brilliance of dialogue in the entire film. Once when President Bush dismisses his aide saying, "if it's complicated, I don't want to know," and another when the main character says, "So you really think God created those tectonic plates millions of years ago so that we could have an earthquake here right at this moment? That's some Intelligent Design." It's a great put down, even in the context of the discussion at that point, but here in India we don't quibble much about the truth behind evolution, so it's mostly a miss. The rest of the dialogue is mostly misses, the most glaring one being when the villain, a human T-1000 if ever there was one, meets his nemesis in a Japanese martial arts teacher (both Kamal, natch). "Remember Hiroshima," T-1000 sneers at Kamal-san, "Remember Pearl Harbour," Kamal-san growls back. And thus we are now ready to watch them beat the stuffing out of each other to avenge 50 year old war crimes.

Later this year Tata will be selling us a car for less than the price of a Segway, so I find it hard to imagine that Segway wanted its product placed so prominently. Yet there is Kamal and colleague going from meeting room to meeting room on a Segway, there he is Segwaying alongside his boss while another chap Segways on behind them, and there he is Segwaying inside a lab as he eavesdrops on the baddies. For a guy who is going to spend the rest of the movie on the run, he seems to have remarkably little experience moving on his own energy, standing still seems to be his most natural state of being.

And then there's the Captain Obvious affliction. You see, Kamal is a smart man, but the rest of us would never be able to figure out even the simplest things unless we had our faces rubbed in it. So Captain Obvious leaves nothing to subtlety. Oh no, an audience should never have to discuss a movie after they leave the theater, it should all be perfectly laid out in front of them, besides an editor costs money. There's Kamal fighting for his God just like old Kamal did in the 12th century, there's the elephant outside the temple just like in the 12th century, wait, there he is fighting people with electric torches just like he fought the baddies with flaming torches to start this all off, and on and on and on, culminating with a shot of this supposedly gigantic idol (except it looks tiny thanks to inconsistent graphics), because we can't otherwise realise that this gigantic rock thrown up by the ocean with bits of chain stuck to it must be the same idol we saw at the start of the movie with a chain around it unless that fact is made excruciatingly obvious.

Every now and then you see a hat tip to a good movie, a Terminator pose struck here, a shot from inside the trunk of a car there, to show us that the director likes watching good movies, he just doesn't enjoy making them.

He’s actually had seven straight films exceed the $100 million mark, the smallest take being from “Bad Boys II” at $138 million.

Smith’s latest flick, “Hancock,” is not exactly being hailed by critics.

But the former rapper-turned-TV-and mega-movie star has defied them in the past. And he’s in the habit of rocketing past their predictions on Fourth of July weekend. He did it with similar summer fare like “Independence Day” and “Men in Black II.”

“Hancock” will likely add to Smith’s amazing track record.

According to Smith, he doesn’t think he’s even peaked yet.

“I feel like the next 10 years are going to be my sweet spot,” the celeb tells the USA Today.

And he’s not lacking in the confidence department either.

“I don't feel like there's anything I can't do, no movie I can't make,” he says.

Smith has an analytical approach to his craft; one that’s not normally associated with his profession. He’s a statistician of sorts.

“I study patterns,” he explains. “Nine out of the top 10 biggest movies of all times have special effects; eight out of 10 have creatures in them; seven out of 10 have a love story. So if you want a hit, you might want to throw those in the mix. I just study patterns and try to stand where lightning strikes.”

Can you see Smith as chairman and CEO of his own studio someday?

Die Geschichte eines Lebens, verglüht in ein paar Minuten.Es gibt Leute, die hielten Triinu Kivilaan für eine von Vielen. Mit der Gnade der Niedlichkeit beschenkt, durfte sie schon mit 12 als Model vor der Kamera stehen, wurde mit Saxophon-, Klavier- und Bassunterricht für das Fließband der Europopmucke glatt geschliffen und mit knapp 15 im Rummel um Vanilla Ninja verheizt. Im vergangenen März stellte Triinu Kivilaan mit der Solo-Single „Home“ und dem dazugehörigen Video ihren neuen Sound vor. Ein rockiges Statement für die Liebe.
Unbeirrt arbeitete Triinu weiter an ihrem Sound. Rockdruck an den richtigen Stellen, gefühlvoller Gesang, ein wenig Drama hier und da, aber immer Pop. „Mir ist es wichtig, dass meine Einflüsse ausbalanciert zum Tragen kommen und nicht einseitig sind.“, drückt es Triinu aus. Es geht um Einsamkeit, Leitfiguren, um Menschen, die zueinander finden oder verlassen werden. Geburtstag im nächsten Januar gesetzt. „Ich will nicht mehr warten. Mein erstes Solo-Album ist da. Es muss raus, weil es für alles steht, was ich in den letzten Jahren gefühlt und erfahren habe.“, freut sie sich ungeduldig. „Es ist eine Botschaft, für alle. • He and his folks were elected in a democratic election but since then have been anything but democratic in their methods.
• He believes in crazy religious talk like the belief that the 12th Sufi saint (who went "missing") will return in our own lifetimes (along with the return of Jesus apparently) and preside over an Islamic utopia.
• He believes that the 12th Sufi saint speaks through him.
• He is but a traffic planning engineer, how could he possibly understand weighty themes such as Western liberal thought and the Enlightenment

At the Blandings Media Empire, we are not Ahmadinejad apologists, but we have lived in the US for the last 11 years. But replace the bit about the Sufi saint with  Jesus, and the phrase "traffic planning engineer" with "failed oilman and lucky businessman" and what do we have?

This reminded us of a talk radio show on one of the local right wing AM stations that we heard one day in the States. This was about two years ago when a war with Iran seemed all but certain. and Ahmadinejad was invited to speak at Columbia and this was the prevailing outrage of the week. Said talk radio host was putting down Iran and Ahmadinejad, and suggested that his election was basically a fraud, because in Iran we were told, the religious clergy decided who "their candidate" was going to be and that person had gone on to win, which would never happen in a real democracy.

Reality singing competition is now on.

In the middle of the year, GMA 7 launch its Pinoy Idol, a franchise from a widely known singing competition in America, American Idol. From thousand of thousand who audition from different key cities in the Philippines, only 24 were chosen. The hosting stint of the show goes to Raymond Gutierrez, twin brother of Richard Gutierrez, The judges responsibilities were given to Ogie Alcasid, the singer-songwriter, Jolina Magdangal, singer-host, and Wyngard Tracy, talent manager. Starting last Saturday, every Saturday is their Gala/Performance night and the Sunday would be the Result night.

Last June 14, ABS-CBN together with Endemol, the one whose responsible for bringing the Big Brother fever, launch its reality singing competition, Pinoy Dream Academy 2. Mr. Ryan Cayabyab, a well-known composer was chosen as the Headmaster, together Ms. Kitchy Molina, Overall Voice Mentor, Direk Joey Reyes, Media Performance Master and Mr. Monet Sylvestre, in-academy teacher, will teach the scholars. Gala Night will be held every Saturday and the Probation night will be every Sunday.
