 If Obama  has a Muslim advisor and America has a Muslim Ambassador to the UN then the corollary to this is, if Clemons follows his logic rigorously, that America whilst is engaged in a mortal fight with Islamist extremists in a long war, could also have a moderate Muslim, like Zalmay Khalilzad, as president.

Is Clemons, as the impresario of the liberal left, staging a burlesque comedy of American politics, hoping the hopeless, that it will have box office success in the present circumstances? (Read the November elections.) But I guess it’s a great virtue and “knightly” intellectual bravery to be optimistic in the most pessimistic circumstances.

Dear Kotzabasis -- In this presidential race, we have had competing the first viable female candidate, the first African-American candidate, and the oldest to ever to run as his party's nominee -- This is historic. Yes, if we had a Muslim president, a gay president, an Asian-American president, a Jewish president, a Hispanic president -- in our future....America would be well off I think if the person in question could prevail over the challenges of the day.

Today on the news scientist’s are running a robot using the brain of a mouse. The brain is kept in a fridge and the robot is learning from the electrical brainwaves coming from it.

I really don’t know how I feel about this, my first thought, (a gut reaction), was No that is a step to far, a robot that can learn from brainwaves. If it connects to the wrong brainwaves it could ended up learning anything, and I always find the idea of a computer/robot that can learn/teach itself, bloody frightening. I am not very bright and don’t understand all the ins and outs of robotics, and yes I did read a lot of sci-fi growing up. But what is to stop these robots and computers from taking what they think is the higher ground and taking over? Please don’t give me it will never happen, who would have thought we would be able to fly around the world, go into space, split the atom and use it to kill God knows how many?

Then the thought occurred that it could be used for paraplegics/people with body wasting diseases, a body could be built and the brain popped in the top. What you would get is a body that works. Then this question popped into my head, is our consciousness in our brain, are we our brain or is our brain us. If we remove the brain do we still feel, would we still remember who we were? You can’t really ask a mouse how he is feeling.

I have a really uneasy feeling about this one, what do you think?
