Joshua Marler has joined Desert Wind Winery as its National Sales Manager. Marler will work with distributors throughout the U.S. to expand the Desert Wind brand.

Marler has a bachelor's degree from Manhattan College in Riverdale, N.Y. and extensive sales experience in the consumer packaged goods industry. Before joining Desert Wind, he was a development manager for Frito Lay Inc. and an tobacco sales representative.

Desert Wind Winery in Prosser produces about 25,000 cases of wine annually and has long-range plans to increase production to up to 200,000 cases.

SAM FERRARO, 88, of LAKEWOOD, passed away Saturday, July 12, at Leisure Park. Sam was born Salvatore Giuseppe Ferraro in Hackensack. Sam was an Army veteran and received a Good Conduct Medal. While in the service, he worked as an interpreter with Italian Prisoners of War and taught them English, gave them basic training, translated Italian into English, English into Italian and instructed in military courtesy. Sam attended Manhattan College Columbia University, where he received a Bachelor's degree to teach Italian, French, English, Spanish and Chemistry. He was employed by the Leonia Board of Education for many years before retiring July 1, 1985. He moved from New Milford to Leisure Knoll in Manchester in December 1987 and then to Leisure Park Brighton Gardens in 2002. Sam was also a parishioner of St. John's Roman Catholic Church.

Sam was predeceased by his mother, Mariannina Nicolini; and his father, Gaetano Ferraro. He is survived by his friend, Carol Hare.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at D'Elia Funeral Home, Route 70 and Vermont Avenue, Lakewood. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Church, Barnegat, with burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Barnegat.

Here's some Lyte and some Kris for ya.

Med Gävleparet skulle vi ut på en pubrunda med inledande middag för att sedan ta med dem mot ett hemligt mål. Under middagen ökade deras nyfikenhet om vart vi skulle gå. Som ledtråd fick de veta att vi skulle till ett skyddsobjekt och det fanns stor chans att få se kända personer. Nu haglade det förslag på vart vi skulle.

Takvandring på slottet! Lite svårt att få till kan jag tänka mig.
Allsång på Skansen. Det är onsdag, de uppträder på tisdagar.

Vi ringde efter en taxi och uppgav adressen. Chauffören kopplade inte var adressen låg så vi sa kör mot amerikanska ambassaden. Nu såg våra gäster mer än stumma ut. När vi svänger upp på Strandvägen börjar de ana att vi ska till Gröna Lund eller Skansen. Men ack vad fel de hade.

Taxin stannade utanför SVT där vi gick in och satte oss på andra raden som publik under TV-inspelningen av ”Det sociala spelet”. En lite udda aktivitet för våra gäster från Gävle.
Efter inspelningen åkte vi vidare till puben för att blötlägga våra torra strupar.

Boleh dikatakan saya tak pernah dapat MC (atau nak mintak MC) sepanjang saya keje selama 2 tahun ni. Sakit memang ada, seingat saya 2 kali saya pernah demam + selsema yang teruk tapi bila pegi klinik Dr tak pulak kata saya perlu MC. Saya ni pun dengan lurus bendulnya tak penah pulak mintak kat Dr (walaupun kadang2 memang tak larat nak buat keje).

Dr pun bukan boleh sembarangan bg MC, kalau setakat sakit biasa yang tak bagi kesan kepada kerja, mesti la dia tak bagi MC tu. Yang kita pulak mana boleh main paksa2 pulak Dr tu bagi MC kat kita.

Saya selalu dengar kebanyakan orang guna alasan MC untuk pegi interview keja lain atau sambung cuti panjang (bila bos tak luluskan cuti). Kadang2 saya terfikir jugak, diorang ni tak rasa bersalah ke guna alasan MC untuk tujuan macam tu? Yang paling saya kagum, macamana diorang boleh pegi klinik dan convincekan Dr untuk bg MC walaupun tak sakit...sebabnya saya memang sangatlah tidak pandai nak buat macam tu...:P

Saya pernah ikut topik pagi kat Hot.fm yang bincang isu MC. Sorang caller cerita pasal sorang kawan dia yang sanggup buat apa saja untuk dapat MC. Sampaikan satu tahap, kawan dia tu titiskan air tembakau dalam mata - untuk nampak real yang dia sakit mata - kan MC sakit mata seminggu... akhirnya kawan dia dapat MC, sebab mmg betul2 sakit mata. Mata bengkak sebab kena jangkitan dan penglihatan jadi kabur kesan air tembakau tu. Termakbul la hasrat kawan dia bila Dr bagi 10 hari MC. Tulah, nak main2 terus jadi betul2.

Moral of the story: Sila guna MC dengan cara yang betul..:)

McCrann Jr., 77, a resident of Wells, NY and formerly of Baldwin, NY will be held on Monday July 14th 2008 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Wells, NY. Interment will be at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Wells, NY. Mr. McCrann died on Monday July 7, 2008 in Selden, NY. He was both a graduate of Manhattan College and a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. McCrann was a devoted husband of 45 years to wife Audrey and loving father of Marybeth Lawless. He is survived by his children, Winni Tucker, Thomas F. McCrann III, Christine Martinez, Patrick McCrann, Katy Bishop, Anne McCrann, and Matthew McCrann, brothers George and Paul McCrann, sisters, Patricia Gilvary, Eileen Baske, and Maureen Koltzan, 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Tisdagen ägnades åt att tala i telefon, läsa teori & körning. Var min fjärde körning & var fokus på krypkörning, blir nog mer sådant nästa gång. Det måste ju gå så långsamt…

Onsdagen var det en hel del jobbsök, chatt på msn & S hörde av sig igen. På något sätt känns hans omtänksamhet naturlig, men har lovat en för mig väldigt betydelsefull person att hålla mig ifrån honom.

Du ska veta att jag kommer att hålla det, för jag vill inte dit igen & min själ har funnit en liten ro, som jag måste se till att tro på & lita på. Samt våga hoppas igen, även om det nu är väldigt svårt att göra det.

Torsdagen har använts till att söka flera jobb, men kände en rejäl trötthet & det blev en stunds vila. Visade sig att man dragit på sig feber, gillar inte alls att ha feber. Missade dansen, men var nog bra det. Då förra danskvällen inte var den jag behövde då.

Fredagen, försökte få någon sömn, men tankarna är verkligen inte det jag behöver just nu. Att en person har ringt mer & mer är en av anledningarna till alla dessa tankar. Ända fördelen är att jag kan se till att få ett jobb & eget boende.

Fast blir det något av det jobben blir det flytt & delvis tillbaka till ett liv jag inte vill tillbaka till. Samt att jag sviker det personer som verkligen betyder något för mig. Hade iaf en av dessa personer på msn, ända fördelen med msn. Men hade varit bättre ifall personen hade ringt istället, fast bättre det än ett kort sms.

Lördagen var inte den bästa för min del, hade inte sovit allt för mycket & febern blir ju inte lägre för det. Dagar kan verkligen gå sakta & denna dag var verkligen sådan. Kvällen ägnades till att tala i telefon, se på tv & chatta. Några ljuspunketer var det iaf, men de var få...

Söndagen kom iaf & natten har varit hemskt lång… Så nu vill jag bara att denna dag tar slut & att morgondagen blir bättre. Samt att saknaden man känner har minskat innan detta dygn är över, men det märker jag förhoppningsvis. Men hoppet mitt är väldigt lite, då hoppet fått många törnar under årens lopp.

I did a bubble party.. and it was my first video log, but there were too many kids and I didn't want to post pics or video up.

I also did a corporate event Friday, but I need to remove photos with the kids.. again, safety reasons.

Friday was a fun wedding. It was a destination wedding. Wei, the groom, is Chinese and Eileen, the bride, is from the Philippines.

This was the first wedding where I did very little coordination, everything was handled through a coordinator who handled everything (and did a great job at it).

Lots of changes were made during the wedding itself, but it went along great! The floor stayed packed the entire time-- I love weddings like these!

Wow! Three event weekend!

First one was a karaoke party for the Providence Golf & Country Club in Davenport, Fl.. this place is GORGEOUS!

It was raining like never before, streets were flooding, cars were water skiiing, not a pretty site.

I was actually facing the right side of the picture... my van started spinning... and I was only only driving 15MPH! Only spun halfway through but it was enough for a new change of underwear. Driving down the road I saw a few other accidents and several cops, one at each stop light, to prevent any more accidents.

This is Stephanie, she is an amazing singer.. apparently going pro. She was the crowd favorite. We also had a group of girls called the Cash Sistas who had coordinated dances as the girls sang karaoke.. they were also a crowd favorite!!

Move on to Saturday!

So here we are in Lithia, FL. We had no idea if we were in the right neighborhood until BAM! Out of nowhere appeared one of the most beautiful venues we've seen.

Matt & Karen were amazing with a crowd who not only were a lot of fun, but also danced to everything.. including Cher's Believe, a techno version of Sweet Caroline, Electric Avenue, and other assorted goodies. Although she is Polish, it wasn't a traditional Polish wedding. Kelly was the MC and I did the DJing. It was fun not having to MC for once and just enjoy being on the ones and twos (and threes and fours!)

EDIT: We arrived 3.5 hours early because we were coming in from a Bridal show and drove straight there. We set up and had a couple of hours to relax, which was nice. When I snapped this shot I forgot to clear my table. The bottle sitting on it is the wine bottle that the couple bought for the "winners" of the anniversary dance. The coordinator placed it on our table so it won't get lost.

Sunday, another wedding where I was just the DJ while Kelly MC'd.

This was in Plant City.

It was thundering bad.. all the lights dimmed and the BOSE started making a horrible sound as the voltage dropped to 90V. I quickly shut the Furman (Power Strip) off.

Despite that, the wedding went awesome! Holly & Karen are a great couple who were referred to us from another wedding Kelly and I did. She wanted all cheese... the dance floor was open for only about 45 minutes (lots of events and large dinner.. 300 people in four hours) but it went so well! Chicken Dance, Macarena, Cupid Shuffle, Cha Cha Slide, Electric Slide... the entire dance floor was packed. It goes to show you that cheese can still work and is still lots of fun... especially when they were all requests!

It was a fun weekend.. I have a Bubble Party http://www.bubblemaniaparties.com Wednesday and events Friday and Saturday as well. Stay tuned!

This was a fun wedding... Started at 4:00 and went full speed until 8:00. She was Italian and he was American, so we had some fun mixing different cultures. This was another wedding where everyone had the focus on the bride & groom.

Justin and Maria are wonderful people and their energy is infectious. There's about 30 pics here, so it might taken a minute to load.

The wedding was at the Crowne Hotel in Tampa, Florida. The staff was great to work with and the hotel itself is gorgeous.

This gig report will be somewhat unique because I am including some odd behind the scenes shots.

Keep in mind, all photos are taken with my trusty iPhone. So yeah.

Vi ägnade dagen till promenader & långa samtal, att komma honom så nära är riktigt roligt & verkligen känna att han är en vän att känna. Det blev en hel del tårar men även skratt, var längesen någon av oss skratta så. Men ni har säkert förstått att hans vänskap är något jag värdesätter & värnar om.

Tisdagen tog jag mig iaf äntligen iväg till Ams, har dragit mig för att ta mig dit. Men blev där en stund innan det bra av till R N, då Marcus kollat runt lite åt mig & fick minsann klara av att gå in själv. Tack Marcus för det J

Onsdagen var verkligen en rejäl nystart. Trodde på något sätt att jag aldrig skulle uppleva den nystarten. Men med stöd från Marcus men även Peter som vågat sig upp blev det av.
Jag satte mig upp på körskolans hoj & fick igång den, samt fick fart på:n. Stannade till & i allt så glömde jag bort att en hoj endast har två hjul. Så den la sig ner på sidan, självklart på fel fot, fast det gick ändå bra. M & P blev lite oroliga, fast det gick över i ett gott skratt. Tack för det killar, ska komma ihåg det J

Dagen gick riktigt fort, men vi tre han med både hojtur & middag. Peter hade kört upp på Patricks hoj. Något jag verkligen uppskattade & var ju riktigt längesen jag satt bakpå den. Får fortfarande arbeta med att våga åka bakpå någon, skönt att man iaf vågar köra själv.

Torsdagen började iaf med ett uppföljningsmöte på Ams & lägga upp min personliga handlingsplan. Får hoppas att det går bättre denna gång, var inte alls roligt förra gången.

Efter mötet var det dags att säga adjö till en man & en liten pojk, samt att ta adjö av det otroligt härliga hojarna. Först ut var Yamaha TDM & sist men inte minst BMW R1200GS Adventure. Vad jag kommer att sakna dessa underbara vänner & deras hojar.

Fick på eftermiddagen lite besök en stund, alltid härligt med besök & man kan koppla bort en hel del tankar en stund. Blev iaf dans på kvällen, var inte riktigt på topp. Dansade iaf med några guldkorn, men tankarna ville något annat.

Tankarna for iväg & ville inte ge med sig. Tårarna var nära flera gånger under kvällen, men lyckades spara dem till nattens sömn istället.

Fredagen & min andra körning, höll mig iaf på hjulen J Var riktigt roligt & roligare blir det tydligen. Tankarna höll sig iaf borta under körningen & även då man städade lite i köket. Grät mig sen till sömns bara för att få lite sömn.

Lördagen en riktigt bra dag för min del. Var dags för min tredje körning & den blev rätt så lyckad, förutom besöket i diket & har kommit fram till att Mc-körning är väldigt meditativt om man bara fokuserar på körningen. Besöket avskräckte mig inte från att fortsätta & farten blev inte heller lägre.

Gick sen hem från körskolan & var riktigt skönt att ta en rejäl promenad & det var verkligen något som jag & själen behövde.  När jag väl var hemma. Såg jag till att städa badrummet, iaf så gott det gick. Det tog en stund, men nu kan jag mer & mer fokusera på att bara leva i lghtn.

Söndagen kom & ägnade dagen till telefonsamtal, läsning & lugn.
