Det er snarere en krig mot dissens, mot sannhet, mot humanitet, mot Internett-terrorister(!) - sånne som meg? - og mot alle som ikke applauderer den gryende fascismen.

Lovforslaget “Prevention of Violent Radicalism and Homegrown Terrorism” (H.R. 1955) (Norske Le Monde diplomatique om H.R 1955) går faktisk så langt at det kriminaliserer visse tanker.

According to the bill, “homegrown terrorists” can be anyone who “… intimidate(s) or coerce(s) the United States government, the civilian population … or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social belief,” a definition broad enough to include Americans who organize mass marches on Washington to “coerce” changes in government policy.

The bill defines “violent radicals” as Americans who “…promot(e) extremist belief system(s) for the purpose of facilitating ideologically based violence to advance political, religious or social change…” - in other words, Americans who have not yet done anything illegal but who, commissioners believe, have thoughts that might lead to violence.

Krigen er der for å kaste blår i øynene på folk, slik at de tror på løgnene fra myndigheter, og for at schizofrene og hjernevaskede politikere skal tro på sine egne løgner.

Michael Ratner on Missing CIA Tapes, Torture and the Supreme Court


I sat down with Michael Ratner, president of the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR), to talk about his work on behalf of prisoners in the so-called War on Terror. His organization, a nonprofit legal advocacy group, has been fighting for the rights of Guantanamo Bay prisoners who were captured and detained since the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Recent revelations of waterboarding by the CIA and the destruction of interrogation tapes have pushed the debate over torture back into the national spotlight. CCR lawyers, along with others, have been collecting testimony from prisoners at Guantanamo about their mistreatment and torture. Ratner believes that the Bush administration has been fighting to keep prisoners accused of terrorism-related activity out of court in order to prevent further evidence and testimony of torture from becoming public.

In order to better prosecute his bogus "war on international terrorism," under the pernicious influence of Federalist Society Lawyers President Bush Jr. personally resurrected a long-defunct World War II era legal category of dubious provenance denominated " unlawful enemy combatant," which was soon thereafter superseded by the Four Geneva Conventions of 1949.

Bush Jr. has used this quasi-category to create an anti-matter universe of legal nihilism where human beings (including U.S. citizens) can be disappeared, detained incommunicado, denied access to attorneys and regular courts, tried by kangaroo courts, executed, tortured, assassinated and subjected to numerous other manifestations of State Terrorism. This Bush Jr. category of "unlawful enemy combatants" negates almost the entirety of the post-World War II regime for the International Protection of Human Rights established by the U.N. Charter in 1945 and most of the major international human rights treaties derived therefrom, which are too numerous to list here.

Bush Jr.'s gross mistreatment of "unlawful enemy combatants" also violates several basic protections of the United States Constitution and in particular the Bill of Rights, again too numerous to list here.

At a minimum, those responsible Bush Jr. administration officials, including the President himself, run the risk of international and U.S. domestic criminal prosecution for violating the Third and Fourth Geneva Conventions of 1949. No wonder that the Bush Jr. administration has done everything humanly possible to sabotage the International Criminal Court.
