Plenty of people in Hollywood are overrated. Movies and television shows teem with actors who were either lucky, shrewd, good-looking, or well-connected enough to rise despite a certain lack of talent. Probably every one has their own pet example - a movie star, an ingenue starlet or a pretty boy semi-celeb - that illustrates just what a capricious bitch good fortune really is, especially when Fame is at stake.

Obviously we watch too many movies and waaayyy too much television, and as a result we've seen some actors come and go that we wish worked more. The list below isn't comprehensive and it's not scientific; of course it's not objective either. But if you see one of these actors on a screen, pay attention and you're guaranteed to see good work.

Lee Tergesen: Of the hundreds of actors (we're only slightly exaggerating) that came out of the late and much-missed HBO series Oz, perhaps no one is more overdue for some acclaim than the actor that brought Tobias Beecher to life. Tergesen's done laps around the guest star circuit, appearing on the Law & Orders as well as CSI and Masters of Horror, but he's an astonishingly versatile actor who deserves a wider audience. Possible Liability: Suffers from The Nancy Travis Paradox: not pretty enough for leading roles, too charismatic for supporting parts. Notable performance: Any of his scene-stealing guest spots on Rescue Me and Desperate Housewives. Next appears: In this year's Iraq War HBO mini Generation Kill.

Maria Bello: A true actor's actor, Maria Bello has held her own against leading men as diverse as Mel Gibson and Viggo Mortensen. Her performances are dependably well-modulated and restrained, showing a technique built on craftsmanship rather than showing off for the camera with a lot of tics and strutting (probably why the Academy routinely ignores her.) Possible Liability: Conspicuously not above taking paycheck roles such as in Coyote Ugly. Notable performance: Breathing new life into the waitress-with-a-heart-of-gold archetype in The Cooler. Next appears: Adventuring with Brendan Fraser in The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.

Stephen Root: An actor whose fame has remained at an unreasonable volume for much of his career, Root's turn as the flopsweating Milton Waddams in 1999's Office Space made the Swingline stapler a hip accessory. He's since appeared in O Brother, Where Art Thou?  and done regular work on underrated series like King of the Hill and News Radio. Possible Liability: Hollywood only has so many parts for heavyset men that don't involve buffoon schtick. Notable performance: He's Milton Waddams, for Christ's sake. Next appears: In Joe Wright's (Atonement) Oscar-bait biopic The Soloist, opposite Robert Downey Jr. and Catherine Keener.

Gretchen Mol: Sometimes early fame is a curse. Mol shot to overweening public exposure in the late 90s, a time when new actors were mercilessly forced upon the public. Following starring roles in underperforming films like Rounders and The Thirteenth Floor, Mol built a career in indie cinema including Neil LaBute's The Shape of Things and last year's The Ten. Possible Liability: A tendency to appear in films that aren't as good as they should be. Notable performance: Her fearless and revelatory starring performance in 2005's The Notorious Bettie Page. Next appears: Opposite Luke Wilson in the indie comedy Tenure.

Gina Torres: We're sort of convinced that Fame owes Gina Torres money. If you're even a little bit geek, you've seen her in something: Firefly, 24, Alias, and several more genre serials. A gifted character actress, Torres plays strong women effortlessly without sacrificing her femininity. Possible Liability: She may be typecast in geek culture roles. Notable performance: As first mate and Nathan Fillion's conscience in Joss Whedon's wildly uneven Serenity. Next appears: In the indie drama Don't Let Me Drown, about two Latino teens in the aftermath of September 11th (yeah, that old cliche.)

Michael Hogan: Battlestar Galactica has made its mistakes, but even its low points were made gripping thanks to screen-melting performances by Mary McDonnell, Edward James Olmos, and especially Michael Hogan as the troubled and self-loathing Colonel Saul Tigh. Adding layers of emotion to what in other hands might've been a generic hardass role, Hogan never resorts to capital-A acting to communicate his character's complexity. Possible Liability: Long-running science fiction shows often become an albatross for their casts' later careers. Notable performance: Parodying the Tigh character on Adult Swim's Robot Chicken. Next appears: Helping Galactica grind to a conclusion in its final season.

Leider haben nicht alle Filme so eine praktische Anzeige, die den Bodycount angibt. Die User des dvd-forums.at haben es sich daher zur Aufgabe gemacht, diesen Missstand aufzuheben. Die Rubrik Bodycounts bietet dazu eine stetig wachsende Auswahl an Filmen, zu denen sie sich die Mühe gemacht haben, die Toten zu zählen und in Wort und Bild zu belegen.

Dabei können auch lustige Vergleiche entstehen, denn wer hätte gedacht, dass der Animationsfilm Shrek - Der tollkühne Held mehr tote Lebewesen aufweisen kann (ca. 68 ) als etwa Slasherstreifen wie Bloody Murder 2 (17).

Die Bodycounts darf man natürlich nicht alle für bahre Münze nehmen, trotzdem sind sie sehr unterhaltend geschrieben.

Nei tanti meme fatti sulle “cose che mi piace fare” ho spesso dimenticato di dire: andare da blockbuster e noleggiare un dvd! Adesso mi viene in mente questa cosa perché purtroppo lo store sotto casa mia..ebbene sì chiuderà alla fine del mese. Mi diceva il commesso: “Perché la gente non viene più…” e mi additava le varie cause: Sky, internet, l’extracomunitario all’angolo delle strade…in effetti questi sono motivi seri che sicuramente hanno inciso sulla crisi di Blockbuster, il colosso americano per la vendita e il noleggio di film. E tale catena chiuderà circa 30 altri store in tutta Italia…il che indica la portata della crisi. Ok passi per sky ( che tra l’altro non mi soddisfa molto in quanto tende a ripetere sempre gli stessi film), ma dispiace molto che la gente preferisca scaricare dalla rete i film o comprare copie illegali. Questo tipo di mercato crea non solo danno all’industria del cinema, ma proprio al cinema nella sua essenza secondo me…mi domando come si possa godere di un prodotto cosi scandente sia nelle immagini che nell’audio…di certo non ama il cinema chi ne usufruisce, ma evidentemente lo intende più che altro come intrattenimento. E intanto il mio blockbuster chiude…certo in città ce ne sono altri, ma sono lontanucci…ci sono si vicino casa anche altri negozi che noleggiano, ma sono piccolini e spesso non forniti…e puoi vuoi mettere il piacere di entrare da block, prendere in mano i dvd, leggere le trame, incontrare qualcuno..discutere di film…sentire discutere di cinema? Che peccato…

We certainly have NOT thrown The Film Crew out. In fact, we're still looking at logistics and plans for releasing more. Since we've acquired MST3K, however, our efforts have been focused on getting an amazing first set out there.

Don't lose faith. We're fans and know there are many others out there, too.

Will all parties involved please get on the same page? Last I heard, Kevin was speaking words of doom about the series. It seems, however, that Shout Factory is open to the idea of more episodes. Maybe if the guys get a free moment or two, unlikely as that may seem, they'll be able to crank out a few more of these bad boys.

Criterion has announced their DVD releases, and The Small Back Room is among the releases. Major props to Criterion for continuing to release Powell and Pressburger films! Especially one as delicious as this. I can't wait to see a better print and some special features, but in the mean time here is an old review of mine:

The darkest of their films I've seen, it's about a neurotic scientist with one foot who is battling emotional, alcohol and relationship problems. The film is rather unusual as the harsh realism is contrasted by the adopted fantasy of their best known period. The film is visually stunning, something I've come to expect from all of the Archers' work. It is drenched in the noir tradition. Sequences like the "whisky bottle" fantasy seem to have come under a lot of critisism, but I actually think they work quite well, although I'm not a huge fan of some of the sound devices. The film is ahead of it's time in some regard, mirrowing a bit work of Dali in Spellbound and perhaps Lost Weekend from Wilder. I think this film has both beat though. David Farrar is brilliant in the lead role, moving in an entirely different direction than his performances in Gone to Earth and Black Narcissus. He is a commanding screen presence, and makes holds this film firmly down to earth. The suspence is also very effective, and the film generally succeeds on all levels. I only wish it were a touch longer, as it feels rushed, especially towards the end.

Is it possible that the entire cast of Mystery Science Theater 3000 will be appearing at this year's San Diego Comic-Con? Well, according to some rumors, it's quite possible, though certainly not confirmed. Brian from Shout Factory, while discussing their first MST3K DVD releases, wrote the following in this thread:

It does look like my "non-info" post earlier may have been a little ambiguous, unless, of course, you're familiar with a little Southern California event that takes place every year.

Hint, hint, nudge, nudge, wink, wink...

Now, that's pretty explicitly referring to Comic-Con, in my opinion. It is the Southern California event for us geeks, and an appropriate place for both a DVD announcement and, maybe, an MST reunion panel. In that same thread, Brian also promises us some great treatment for the impending box sets, and more-frequent sets than Rhino provided. Woohoo!

As for the rumors about a full cast reunion, well, as you can see here, it's all speculation at this point. It's probably mostly wishful thinking on fans' behalf -- unless these rumors are coming from substantial sources that I'm not aware of. But if you ask me, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see at least 80% of the primary cast there for a 20th anniversary shindig. Mike and Joel? Together? PLEASE.

...O que tem a ver um delegado atuando como diretor de marketing?!

Provavelmente haja uma pequena equipe, esta sim especializada, à qual ele delega poderes. Trata-se de uma relação política e não técnica.

O tradicional adversário possui UM VICE E OITO DIRETORES, todos trabalhando em sintonia e prestando contas diretamente ao presidente Piffero. Todos têm uma especialidade diferente (contratos de licenciamento, criação de produtos, sócios, gestão da marca do clube, etc.).

Segundo informações de fonte confiável que conhece todo o processo, O GRÊMIO havia autorizado a produção do DVD IMORTAL TRICOLOR com a produtora do gremista Gustavo Ioschpe, um nome respeitabilíssimo no mercado.

Sabe-se lá por que cargas d'água, em uma dada solenidade TRICOLOR ocorrida em 2006, o presidente ODONE discursou elogiando o DVD, etc. Porém, quando o produtor estava quase sorrindo e levantando-se de sua cadeira para agradecer os aplausos, qual a sua surpresa quando os hurras estavam sendo dirigidos a OUTRO pprodutor, que já estava quase lançando o sucesso conhecido como A BATALHA DOS AFLITOS.

Consta que Ioschpe não recebeu o pagamento integral do GRÊMIO. Pior: como já havia prensado milhares de cópias que ficaram encalhadas, além de seus custos de produção, edição, etc., levou um tufo de algumas centenas de milhares de reais.

Tempos depois, ele, um gremistão, ofereceu para o tradicional adversário a produção do DVD GIGANTE, pois sabia que seria pago e faria um trabalho de altíssima qualidade como de costume. O combinado? Toda a receita da venda dos DVDs iria para o clube e toda a bilheteria dos cinemas (o filme foi um grande sucesso para os fãs de futebol em todos os Estados das regiões Sul e Centro-Oeste, além de ter sido veiculado também em RJ, SP e em outras regiões do país) iria para a sua produtora.

Todos lucraram horrores e ficaram satisfeitíssimos. Tanto é que repetiram a dose com GIGANTE DO DESERTO.

A informação que eu tenho vem de profissionais sérios e envolvidos nesse tipo de parceria lá do outro lado. Adoraria que algum dirigente tricolor desmentisse essa história.

Como minhas críticas sobre os caminhos que o GRÊMIO vem tomando ultimamente não se baseiam em mentiras e não é meu interesse derrubar ninguém, o APITO DO BLACKÃO está de teclado liberado para publicar ipsis litteris a opinião de algum dirigente a respeito do caso.

Pra terminar, não culpo e não acuso o sr. César Pacheco, pois é provável que a negociação estivesse fora de sua alçada e sequer sei tenho certeza de que ele era o responsável pelo marketing naquele período (2006). Minha única queixa é: por que não um especialista?!

Mesmo no caso de agrado a gregos e troianos, certamente seria possível acomodá-lo politicamente em um cargo muito mais compatível com a sua formação.

Trata-se, portanto, de um tipo de desmando que vem de instâncias superiores.

Sugiro até que a imprensa especializada, que tem recorrido cada vez mais ao trabalho voluntário e amador porém responsável e honesto dos blogs, investigue melhor esses fatos todos através de sua técnica e de seus contatos profissionais e que, naturalmente, tenha coragem de publicar até mesmo histórias muito mais graves do que essa da qual todo jornalista conhece e que não chegou até nós.

Mas que isso também seja feito do outro lado, apesar do "patinho feio" da vez ser o GRÊMIO.

Se não fosse em um blog como o APITO DO BLACKÃO, o ALMA DA GERAL, o GRÊMIO ACIMA DE TUDO, o GRÊMIO IMORTAL ou o BLOG DA CORNETA PRÓ-GRÊMIO, então seria uma gravação oportunista em um MP3 ou um vídeo de celular postado no YOU TUBE.

Quando um internauta experiente tem tempo e interesse, é capaz de efetuar buscas e cruzar informações a partir de diversos sites de notícias, enciclopédias, blogs, sites de fotos e, bem ou mal, conselheiros e funcionários do clube possuem contatos em todas as profissões e classes sociais, cujos conhecidos vivem na maioria dos bairros da cidade.

Antigamente, sem essa possibilidade de registro documental, tudo ficava restrito à esfera do boato.

Isso posto, sejamos propositivos: estabelecido o imbroglio entre direção e produtor de vídeo, todo e qualquer constrangimento pessoal, profissional e financeiro precisava ter sido aparado através do DIÁLOGO FRANCO muito antes de se combinar algum compromisso.

Depois que a bobagem já estava consumada, teria sido preciso vir a público esclarecer o caso o mais rapidamente possível, com o rabinho entre as pernas. Afinal de contas, a mancha fica na instituição GRÊMIO, pois a reputação e a respeitabilidade do clube vão lá para debaixo das unhas dos pés.

Tal tipo de atitude, que é facilmente descoberta por qualquer um, chega aos ouvidos do condomínio de credores e é aí mesmo que eles não irão querer saber de parcelar em suaves prestações o seu crédito com o clube.

É uma pena que estejam tratando o nosso GRÊMIO dessa maneira. Mas que sirva de lição para dirigentes atuais e futuros.

There was another elder named Mildred who I loved dearly in my life.  I worked at a small care home in Tucson and she was my sweet little friend there.  She gave me wonderful bits of wisdom.  Just being around her was a special treat.  When I was getting married a friend called me to tell me I was too young and didn't know what I was doing... I started to second guess myself and I told Mildred my feelings because she always had good advice.  She said "Well, if you're on top of a wall and you want to get down to the ground you have to jump."  I will always remember and treasure that because it was true and one of the best decisions I ever made.  I would have followed my heart anyway, but she encouraged me and put special words to it that will always remain with me. 

I have heard some people say that they don't want to live past their "usefulness" or "productivity" and I feel sad when I heard that.  I have been enriched by the wisdom of older people who were no longer able to fully take care of themselves.  But giving care to someone is not always a burden and receiving care is not always something to be ashamed of.  My life would have been much poorer without the Mrs. Archers and the Mildreds...

This is an anthology of seven older women's writings edited by Sondra Zeidenstein.  I found all of them to be interesting and well-written.  My favorites were Carrie Allen McCray and Anneliese Wagner.  There is also a Crimson Edge Volume 2 which I am looking forward to reading. 

Earth's Elders: The Wisdom of the World's Oldest People by Jerry Friedman 305.26 FRI

Jerry Friedman spoke at our library a few years back.  He traveled the world in search of these supercentenarians.  He describes his travels in the first part of his book and the second half is the real treat where we get to meet all of these special people.  Almost all of these people are optimistic & happy which seemingly contributes to their longevity. 

Touch the Earth: a self-portrait of Indian Existence  970.004 MCL

A compilation of Native American speeches and writings from a range of ages, edited by T.C. McLuhan.  There is also historical information and many pictures of the ancient people.  Among many beautiful and powerful passages, some of my favorites were Red Jacket, Crowfoot & Chief Flying Hawk. 

The Foxfire Books (most are in 917.58 FOX, Foxfire 10 is 975.812 FOX)

The Foxfire Books are compilations of interviews and research by high school students in Appalachia.  Particularly I loved "Aunt Arie" who shows up in many of the books.  Their first meeting with her is recorded in The Foxfire Book which is the first of many.  I am awaiting Aunt Arie: A Foxfire Portrait to read more about this special woman.  I also enjoyed learning about Walker Wood, who Chris Nix writes about in Foxfire 10. 

Growing up Native American: An Anthology   810.803 GRO

This anthology spans over a century of writing from 22 different Native American Writers, many written from older people telling their story from a child's perspective.  These are selections that should get you interested in the books they are taken from.  I particularly liked the excerpt from Waterlily by Ella Cara Deloria.

Another collection of writings from different perspectives, edited by Sandra Martz.  My favorites were the title poem by Jenny Joseph, Patti Tana's Post Humus and Social Security by Barbara Bolz. 

The library is full of books by and about our elders.  I'm sure I haven't even touched the surface of our ocean of wisdom here.  (Please place a comment below and share your finds with me & others reading this blog.)  :o)

"Warum trägst du das dumme Menschenkostüm?"

Donnie ist ein fast ganz normaler Teenager - bis auf die Tatsache, dass er Visionen von einem Typen im Hasenkostüm hat, der ihm den genauen Zeitpunkt des Weltuntergangs prophezeit. Während einer nächtlichen Vision, verbunden mit Schlafwandeln, rettet ihm dieser Hase sein Leben, da währenddessen eine Flugzeugturbine in sein Zimmer kracht...
Im weiteren Verlauf geht es um Schicksal, Zeitreisen und Coming of Age - oder anders ausgerückt:
"Jeder Versuch, den Inhalt von Donnie Darko auf eine nachvollziehbare Essenz zu komprimieren, um einen ersten Eindruck des Filmes zu vermitteln, muss zwangsläufig scheitern." (moviemaze.de)

Wie Recht der Autor des obigen Zitats doch hat - ich glaube eine einfache Lösung, was der Film aussagen will, gibt es nicht, kann man doch die einzelnen Storyelemente vielfältig auslegen. Am einprägsamsten ist sicherlich die Storyline über die Zeitreisen, zieht sie sich doch durch den gesamten Film und scheint letztendlich der Schlüssel zu Donnies Erlösung zu sein.

"Und was wäre, wenn du in die Vergangenheit reisen und alle schmerzhaften und dunklen Stunden durch etwas Besseres ersetzen könntest?"

An einer Interpretation des Films haben sich schon ganz andere versucht - für vollstes Verständnis sollte man ihn wahrscheinlich 20x gesehen haben und dazu noch "Philosophie des Zeitreisens", das im Film erwähnte, fiktionale Buch auswendig kennen. Eine interessante, wenn auch nicht ganz einfache Interpretation findet Ihr hier.

"Donnie Darko" lässt einen nach Filmende noch lange nachdenklich zurück. Einfach alles passt in diesem Film. Die Musikuntermalung fängt die Stimmung des Films gut ein, der Mix aus Fantasy, Komödie und Drama funktioniert und die Story ist zwar irgendwie in sich schlüssig, irgendwie aber auch nicht und manche Geschehnisse machen erst im Nachhinein Sinn.

„Donnie Darko“ ist ein interessanter, verstörender und auslegungsbedürftiger Film, der nur demjenigen zusagen wird, der dazu bereit ist, selbst die Puzzelstücke der Story zusammenzusuchen und sie immer wieder neu zusammenzulegen. (Filmstarts.de)

Ich hoffe, dass ich erleichtert aufatmen kann,
wenn das Ende der Welt gekommen ist, denn
es gibt so Vieles, auf das man sich freuen kann.

Es wird einen zweiten Teil dieses grandiosen Films geben, der eigentlich nur schlechter sein kann, genannt wird dieses Werk dann s.Darko.
Es geht um Samantha, Donnies Schwester, die während eines Road-Trips Visionen bekommt. Herzlichen Glückwunsch, denk ich mir da, und das sollte man lieber lassen, doch es ist zu spät. Sonntag beginnen angeblich die Dreharbeiten. Und ein Poster (das sieht zwar ziemlich gefaked aus, hm, egal) gibt es auch schon. Hier.
Daveigh Chase spielt Donnies Schwester, aber sonst wird wohl keiner aus dem ersten Teil mitmachen. Das Budget ist mit Millionen Dollar doppelt so hoch wie beim Vorgänger, aber: “Donnie’s not in [the new film] but there are meteorites and rabbits.” .

En route pur la joie

storia di un ecotaxi e di una ciclofficina

Una lettera, una sfida e una storia di potere fanno da sfondo a dieci videolezioni di ciclomeccanica più uno speciale sulla bicicletta a scatto fisso. Inoltre nel DVD è presente un documentario sul progetto EcoTaxi nato dalla cooperativa sociale BlowUp di Roma. Prodotto in collaborazione con Tam Tam Formazione e Servizi e patrocinato dal Circolo Legambiente "Aframbiente".

In un futuro non ben definito, una lettera di un futuro nemico dà l'input al Gran Maestro Biciclettaio Marko per ripensare a quando, ancora inesperto, frequentava la ciclofficina in via del gazometro 14 a Roma. Dopodichè ecco partire A-BiCi ossia le videolezioni, introdotto da un susseguirsi di gag tra Marko e Chiara, l'esperta meccanica. Le lezioni sono su:

• Diagnosi del problema

• Come estrarre una ruota e riparare una foratura

• La regolazione dei freni (primo tipo)

• La regolazione dei freni (secondo tipo) e come montare le leve

• La serie sterzo e il manubrio

• Il cambio e la catena

• Il deragliatore

• Il movimento centrale

• La ruota e i raggi

• Il mozzo

più una lezione speciale su

• come costruire una bici a scatto fissa.

Dopo il flashback sulle lezioni, Marko prosegue nella lettura della lettera che assume contorni sempre più inquietanti fino a ricordare anche quando si cominciavano a vedere i primi risciò del progetto EcoTaxi della Cooperativa Sociale BlowUp, nonostante le difficoltà fino a quando dal ricordo si passa alla seconda parte del dvd: il documentario En route pour la joie incentrato proprio sull'innovativo progetto che la cooperativa romana sta portando avanti in un più ampio progetto di reinserimento sociale di detenuti ed ex-detenuti.

Inutile dire che il finale ci riserverà qualche sorpresa: come è riuscito Marko a divenire Gran Maestro Biciclettaio?

John Constantine kann Dinge sehen, die kaum ein anderer Mensch sehen kann. Dämonen, Geister und Engel. Von seinen Eltern als Kind für verrückt gehalten und mit Medikamenten vollgepumpt, versucht er als Teenager, sich das Leben zu nehmen. Und ist erfolgreich. Für zwei ganze Minuten. Man holt ihn zurück ins Leben. Und als Erwachsener versucht er durch Exorzismen, einen Platz im Himmel zu erbeuten. Denn er ist noch immer ein Selbstmörder, und auf die wartet nach wie vor die Hölle. Verständlich, dass er da nicht hinwill, an genau den Ort, in dessen Glut er die Hälfte der Bewohner selbst geschickt hat.

Der Exorzist Constantine trifft auf eine Polizistin, deren Zwilling sich umgebracht hat, die dies jedoch nicht glauben will. Er zeigt ihr, dass es wahr ist, und wie die Hölle aussieht. Und gleichzeitig bringt er sie dazu, zuzugeben, dass sie selbst auch Dinge wie Dämonen eins sehen konnte, und mit seiner Hilfe nun auch wieder kann.

Problematisch wird das Ganze, als die beiden erfahren, das Satans Sohn auf die Erde kommen will, um dort seine Schreckensherrschaft zu verbreiten. Und noch schlimmer wird es, als der Engel Gabriel ihm dabei seine Hilfe zukommen lässt.

Constantine ist ein Kracher in vielerlei Hinsicht. Gabriel wird von einer weiblichen Schauspielerin gespielt, Satan hat fast schon etwas liebenswertes, und mittendrin schafft es Keanu, mal wieder die Welt zu retten. Toller Film, der einen vielleicht nicht klüger macht, aber trotzdem sehenswert ist.

Dazu gezwungen, ihn mit Freunden zu schauen, war ich schon hellauf begeistert, als ich den OT las. Bingo, französischer Film, Toll, wieder verschwendest du Zeit deines Lebens mit etwas, von dem du von vornherein weißt, dass es Scheiße werden wird. Aber da hatte ich bei Jeux D'Enfants weit gefehlt.

Der Film handelt von zwei Kindern, Sophie und Julien, und einer Blechdose. Der, der die Dose hat, kann von dem anderen alles verlangen. Tut derjenige dies, bekommt er die Dose und ist nun an der Reihe, eine Forderung zu stellen.

Es fängt mit harmlosen Dingen an, schweinische Wörter im Unterricht sagen, die Lehrerin mit Farbe anmalen, solche Kindersachen eben. Doch je älter Sophie und Julien werden, desto waghalsiger und gefährlicher werden die Wetten. So landet Sophie, nachdem sie von Julien gefordert hat, seine Hochzeit zu vergeigen, mit verbundenen Augen auf den Gleisen und kann sich gerade noch so vor dem herannahenden Zug retten.

Das Ende ist wie gewohnt französisch: undurchschaubar. Aber das tut dem Film abolut nicht weh.

Jeux D'Enfants ist ein Film über Wetten, Einsatz, Risiko, und die ewige Liebe. Und genau das macht ihn so sehenswert. Schaut ihn euch an. Cap ou pas cap?

• Allison Mack signs on for Season 8?: It had been reported earlier this week that it seemed as though Alison would not reprise her role as Clark's trusty sidekick, Chloe Sullivan. The CW announced it's 2008-2009 fall lineup and cast list for Smallville and Mack was not listed. TV guide broke news today stating that Alison has signed on for a full season 8 commitment. There is nothing final but the source seems lagit.
