Yes, that's the real thing. I popped the top on this and guzzled. It was so good that I drank two.

During my book signing, I met dozens of people interested in my new novel, An Island Away. It's a real pleasure meeting readers. They have great recommendations for other books and provide insight into stories they've read. This helps me become a better writer. After all, the readers are the customers. Talking to them directly gives you the chance to hear their thoughts.

With all the talk these days about how no one reads, you would think we're headed for the dark ages. Not so. There were hundreds of people through the bookstore that night. There was an 8 year old who had illustrated her grandmother's book there as well. Good for them! The younger the better when it comes to books and reading.

Reading, like ice-cold Coca Cola, is the real thing.

Igår var jag så dum att jag åt 2 hg lösviktsgodis på bion. Av detta lärde jag mig att lösviktsgodis gör mig till en surskalle och att jag alltid ångrar mig efteråt. Jag borde ha köpt popcorn istället. Jag ska intala mig från och med nu att jag inte tål lösviktsgodis och att jag blir sjuk av det, som med coca cola. Det är riktigt dumt och barnsligt att äta lösviktsgodis.

Gestern waren wir in der Nähe von Bitburg Verwandte besuchen und wollten anschließend noch in Trier shoppen gehen, schließlich gibt es bei uns hier kein Karstadt...

Zwischendurch sind wir noch kurz nach Luxemburg rübergefahren, um günstige Pads für unsere Senseo Kaffeemaschine zu kaufen.

Kaum über die nicht sichtbare Grenze gefahren, standen wir an einer roten Ampel Schlange. Doch was war das? Eine etwas waghalsige Dame drängte sich zu Fuß durch den Verkehr und verteilte kleine Coca Cola Flaschen an jedes Auto.

Das nenn ich doch mal einen tollen Service. Und dann auch noch so schön eiskalt gekühlt. Herrlich.

Natürlich war das ganze eine Werbekampagne, ein paar Meter weiter stand ein Cola Auto mit auffälliger Werbung, aber die Idee ist nicht schlecht.

We cabbed it to the stadium where Jami, Krysten, and I met up with a couple Canadians, a teacher from the South, and a Korean teacher.  Stepping out of the cab we are barraged by Korean vendors selling Kimchi, fried chicken, and beer.  Lots of beer.  I stayed away from the beer, having gone out the night before.  Plus Korean beer makes you poo in the morning.  It tastes ok, but if you have too much you will definitely pay with a nice case of bubble guts in the morning.  So today, no Cass, no Hite; just a coke for me please.

One of the vendors ran up to me and handed me enough tickets to get in, and then promptly went back to her vending.  I was a little confused about what to do.  Do I pay?  Do I walk right in to the stadium?  The Korean teacher Rasmus (his English name, I forgot his real name) didn't know what to do either.  After a discussion on how strange it was for someone to hand me tickets and then walk away (about ten minutes), the vendor came back telling me what we owed.  5 tickets for the Kia game, 30 dollars.  Actually 30,000 won, but it basically breaks down to about a dollar per 1,000.  So 6 bucks for a night of entertainment is not bad.  Oh, I also buy some power stix before I go in for 2 dollars, I want to take part in the experience (see videos).

We go in, and unfortunately we pick a seat on the visitors side.  It does give us a good view of the action though.  The Tigers get killed, 10-2 against the Busan Giants.  It was 6-2 before I left to take a video of the home side action, but Busan somehow scored 4 runs in a matter of 5 minutes.  Its ok, the crowd was definately more exciting than the game.

As we were walking to the home bleachers, I stopped by the Kia store and bought a couple of souveniers (no spoiler today, because some of them are gifts for people back home.) The hats were the most expensive thing there, standing at 33 dollars.  Everything else, fairly cheap and reasonable.  That is pretty much just like everything here in Korea: some items are rediculously overprices, while other things are underpriced (by Western standards).

하지만 최근에 수행된 다른 blind taste test에서는 참가자들에게 콜라를 조금 맛보게 한 것이 아니라 캔 전체를 마시게 한 뒤에 선호하는 콜라를 선택하도록 하였다.  결과는 Coca Cola가 Pepsi보다 더 선호되고 있는 것으로 나타났다.   한 모금 마실 때는 맛이 더 sweet한 Pepsi가 선호되었지만 캔 하나를 전부 마실 때에는 덜 sweet한 Coca Cola가 선호되고 있는 것이다.

이런 이유 때문에 그동안 Pepsi Challenge에서 주최한 blind taste test에서 Pepsi가 선호되었지만 Coca Cola가 더 잘 팔렸던 것 같다.     앞으로 blind taste test를 할 때에는 방법을 더 신중하게 디자인 해야 할 것 같다.   음료수, Ice cream, 라면, 과자 등을 비교 테스트할 때 맛만 보게 할 것이 아니라 가능하면 제품 포장 한 단위를 다 먹게 한 뒤에 test해야 할 것이다.  

한편 최근에 제작되고 있는 007 영화에서 제임스 본드가 마시는 음료수가 Vodka Martini에서 Coca Cola로 바뀌었다고 한다.  아무래도 007 영화를 보는 관객들이 대부분 어린이들이기 때문에 술 보다는 콜라의 광고 효과가 더 크기 때문이다.   이런 조치는 TV 광고 효과가 점차 줄어들고 PPL 광고가 더 활성화되면서 나타나는 현상이다.   제임스 본드가 콜라를 마신다...  어째 제임스 본드에게서 과거의 섹시한 이미지를 찾기는 어려울 것 같다.   하지만 어린이들에게 Coca Cola 브랜드를 도전적이고 섹시한, 첨단의 이미지로 부각시켜 줄 것임에 틀림없다.

In a Libertarian World, it would be nice if everybody "bought into the vision". we odn't like conflict really, no not at all, for we'd love it if everybody really really wanted to be free, and understood what that meant.

I wonder, tormentedly in the night, often, what to do with people who devise Nazi (which is exclusively to say, leftist) schemes? Such as these:

For example, that of enlisting children to snoop and snitch anonymously to British Local Council Soviet bureauNazis, about the activites of other citizens...

Or, indeed, the closely similar kinds of people, motivated by the same Utopian horror-world, who used to throw dead and even still-living individuals of "unpopular minorities" into incinerators, by the million, "recycling" their clothes, shoes, tooth fillings, spectacle lenses, and the like. (The skull burns last - apparently bluish-green flames burst out of the optic-nerve cavity at the back of the eye socket, and from the nasal cavities. God knows how anyone knew this disgusting fact about what lefties and other minor types of Nazi do to otherwise-living people, but I suspect the "experiment" was "conducted" somewhere.)

We must never, never forget that, in combating leftism in its many hydra-headed forms such as the lies about global warming, we are trying to deal with deeply-and-unimaginably-disgusting, and thoroughly corrupted individuals here. Much, much worse, in terms of the industrial repressing and killing power that, through corrupting science and progress, they can bring to bear.

We have to know what we are going to do with these people, since we can't just kill them out of hand, as we will thence descend to their moral level.

Like Polly Toynbee, for example. I offer her as a Gramscian monster which you would all recognize, in a hurry. I do not, here on this blog as you also know, aspire to be able to describe her, or people such as Hitler, Al Gore, Castro, Pol Pot, the Sendero-Lumonoso, Ed Balls, Saddam Hussein, Darleko-Ahmadinejad-or-whatever (and others) and Stalin in the colourful and deeply-Saxon language that you will be pleased to see on Devil's Kitchen, for example. Furthermore, The Devil can do it so much better than I - but you all understand that the Hegelio-Toynbeeian here is viewed as a powerful and not-to-be-underestimated Servant of the Devil (not ours - the real one) who ought to be approached with respect, and with quantities of very, very dry gunpowder.

Enough about the monsters. Here's what to do with them. It's only a partial solution I am afraid, for now: we have to stop them from coming ito the world, but that's stage 2.

For now, I'm afraid that in the end, we shan't catch the biggies as they will I expect, like Himmler, all take cyanide on the day. But the minions, such as "Chief Executives of Metropolitan Councils", and "Covert-Human-Intelligence-Co-ordinators" can't all be forced to die, as there are staggeringly large numbers of them, and we are "not that kind of a people.

We shall have to demonstrate "Justice Tempered With Mercy". This is what we will do. I got the idea from the late great Auberon Waugh, in the Spectator about 12 years ago. He was a great liberal.

St Kilda is a currently uninhabited (except for a small military base) set of rocky, mountainous Islands, some way off the north west of the Outer Hebrides of the north of the UK. They have to warm each other in the winter, and in storms in thew summer which may even be worse, it will teach them some things.

There are, importantly, NO TOOLS. NONE.

None. Zap. Nada.

There are three heavily-armed men, who play cards, computer games and have a broadband connection, to view pron, play games, and amuse themselves. They are very, very, very highly paid, about £170,000 a year each, more than the PM, and serve for 7 days at a time only every 6 weeks (so they can have a life) as there is no alcohol permitted to be landed on the island at all. The new prisoner is landed and is winched up, willingly or no.

If it is stormy and windy, then that's "due to climate change" and is the prisoner's problem. (She/he ought to have been keeping a record, but we do NOT provide pencils as these are not "natural". If she/(he) does not come down, then the daily food rations sent up are deducted by one person's amount.

If the particular prisoner who has been called does not come down, after three days, then rations sent up thereafter are deducted by the amount of ONE PRISONER, which is assumed to be dead.

If a new prisoner is "sent up", then rations are adjusted accordingly.

I would not like it if they had to eat each other, but then I am a human being and these things which we are trying to save are not. Sorry, that was bad - but I an annoyed with lefties today. They want to destroy the world, and I don't think they ought to be allowed to, for most people like it as it is, with Coca-Cola, MacDonald's, voting, electricity, running water, medicines and stuff.

The bus route isn't the only thing that's changed though.

I'm happy to say that the school is trying to be more 'eco-friendly' by replacing the regular old white plastic bags with thin green 100% biodegradable 'bio-bags,' and instead of taking cafeteria food out in plastic containers we now have upgraded to biodegradable paper containers. The bags stretch and rip easily, and when carrying heavy foods out most people double-bag, which I think defeats the purpose, and liquidy foods seep through the paper containers after some time. It's the effort that counts, I suppose.

I'm trying to figure why they've done away with Minute-Maid and Dasani for Dole and Aquafina.

Edit: I just remembered last year there were fliers floating around on campus about "Stop Killer Coke" and yeah, Dasani & Minute-Maid are both manufactured by Coca-Cola. You can read more about it here. I guess this proves that protesting on campus really works.

In the plans are tours of the CNN studio and the World of Coca-Cola, and visits to the aquarium and zoo. I have an interest in the Fernbank Science Center and visiting Centennial Olympic Park, unless you can give me reasons to avoid them. What else (specifics, please) should I do, see, and eat? I'm hoping to find some good cheese grits.

Olha, se vodka fizesse bem, a Rússia seria potência, não? Eu tenho um verdadeiro horror por essa bebida, porque ela te engana, você bebe um pouco e, quando percebe, está andando com a saia presa na calcinha...

A vodka, para mim, funcionou até os 19 anos, quando tive um porre horrendo, que foi parar no Orkut e acabou com minha carreira de aspirante à BBB. Mas, como sou a mais pé de cana, vou escrever alguns tópicos sobre essa bebida querida.

Vodka, o que é?

Bem, como já dito anteriormente, essa bebida, conhecida na Rússia com “água”, tem pacto com o cão e, como já disse Jeremias, foi o cão que colocou para nós bebermos (ok, com um português mais sofrível, mas disse).

A vodka, ao contrario da cerveja, precisa ser de qualidade, pois ao contrario, pode causar dores de cabeça, vômitos na calça e noites com estranhos.

A vodka é mais chic, assim como o diabo que veste Prada, e é a favorita dos baladeiros, pois não faz você fazer xixi de 2 em 2 minutos. Não dá bafo e é servida no copo, sendo visualmente mais agradável que a cerveja, que vem na lata, o que nos remete àqueles tiozinhos de porta de boteco com a camisa do Maluf na altura do umbigo, chinelo Samoa e latinha de Polar na mão.

Vodka vai bem com o quê?

Ao meu ver, vodka cai bem em drinks  (Sex on The Beach, Mojito) e ALGUNS refrigerantes. Caps Lock no alguns porque coca-cola é com rum, pelo amor. Coca-cola com qualquer outra bebida é primitivo, só deve ser bebido até os 17 anos (que horror).

O problema com os destilados é que, por serem muito fortes, são misturados até com bolacha “negresco” para embebedar as menininhas. Tudo bem, acho que bom gosto é que nem bunda, alguns tem, outros não, mas vamos ser sensatos: suco em pó, bolacha, leite condensado, é tudo uma delícia... na hora! Meu, isso faz muito mal para o fígado e você enche a cara sem saber.

Batidas com frutas também são ótimas pedidas, assim como a caipiroska. Minha favorita é a de amora com açaí do Esquenta Madá (googleia aí, é bem legal esse bar).

Qual vodka é a melhor?

Olha, de cada 10 bebedores de vodka, nove me disseram Absolut. Bom, só tomei uma vez e nem senti a diferença, confesso. Mas já experimentei vodka de quinta, então posso falar das ruins.

Qualquer vodka com nome de música do Capital Inicial, com cachorros na embalagem ou em garrafas plásticas são ve-ne-no, usadas só em drink de puteiro. Gente, vamos com bom senso: a grana esta curta, você quer ficar doidão, toma pinga. Vodka vagabunda é pior que sogra, que churrasco grego estragado.

Não direi nomes...

Das que vendem no supermercado, e as mais populares, fiquem entre as Offs da vida. E, se Possível, troquem o saquinho de tang por um abacaxi, que vai ser bem melhor.

Demuuult n’am mai dormit 12 ore/noapte. Allah mă iubeşte pe zi ce trece tot mai mult şi, ca semn al dragostei lui necondiţionate pentru mine, a făcut o minune ( gându’mi zboară deja la duhul lămpii lui Aladin) , iar eu am dormit ieri până la 12:30 la amiază. A fost al dracu’ de bine. Mă simţeam la fel ca şi Carnal după 5 energizante amestecate cu Coca-Cola. Aveam bateriile încărcate => Morning, sunshine !

Deja mă simţeam prea bine : home alone, BUG Mafia la maxim, mâncare gătită, suc pus la rece în frigider, soarele ce dădea buzna cu nesimţire în camera mea ..etc etc (detalii ce ne fac ziua mai frumoasă decat cea anterioară ). Se produse o atmosferă prea,prea feerică pentru str. Narciselor. Ceva trebuia să mă determine pe mine să’l invoc pe dracu’ încă de dimineaţă. Guess what ? „Ceva”-ul nu a întârziat să apară. Demolatorul de vecinu’meu mă iubeşte atât de mult, încât s’a gândit să’mi zică „ Neatza, Aleeeeeeee! ” printr’un sunet iritant, o muzică ce’mi zgâria timpanul, zdrăngăneală produsă de răzuitul pereţilor. (a urmat apoi clasicul poc-poc...poc-poc...pooooc, dar cu asta sunt obişnuită deja )

Somnoroasă cum eram, constat (cu întârziere) că mă sună varu’meu , Bogdy. Ca să nu mă dau de gol că am diugulit până aproape la 1 la amiază în pat, îmi schimb brusc vocea şi adopt o tonalitate vioaie. Zâmbetul mi se scurge încet, încet de pe buze atunci când aflu că îmtr’o oră sunt obligată să mă prezint acasă la bunica. Plina de nervi, arunc pe mine primii pantaloni şi primul tricou ce i’am vazut în dulap şi mă îndrept spre taxi. Guess what (again) ? Taximetristul părea pur şi simplu fascinat de sânii mei. Tipu’ era de’a dreptul hipnotizat. În loc să fie atent la condus (v’am mai zis că se circulă infernal), el mă studia minuţios. Şi la picioare ? De ce morţişorii lui se uita ?Habar n’am, că doar nu eram în fustă. Am scăpat şi de ĂLA şi am dat de alţi cocalari pe str. Fabricii ( aproape de Armata Roşie...colonie de tigani...” pisi, hai să’ţi vând un mp3 ” ..ala bala...stuff like that)

În afară de Paşte şi de Crăciun, există o data X din calendar când îţi vin rudele pe cap. Neamurile ţi’s neamuri. Nu le poţi schimba. Odată cu trecerea anilor, te’ai acomodat ca, o data în an, să faci pe ipocritul, să arunci ventuze lipicioase în stânga şi’n dreapta şi să te joci de’a „ strânge masă / pune’te masă” . Detest ipocrizia. Urăsc falsitatea. Sunt alergică la oameni care practică pupinCURismul „ pentru că dă bine ”.

Am o familie mare, chiar dacă părinţii mei nu au fraţi. Îi iubesc pe fiecare’n parte. Cu toţii mi’au fost alături atunci când am avut nevoie de ei. La noi, familia joacă un rol foarte important. Lucrul ăsta l’am învaţat de la mama Aurică. Daaar, în pofida acestei maaari iubiri pentru my big happy family, am unele rude pe care nu le prea agreez. Prezenţa lor mi’e total indiferentă. Vreau să zic că, dacă mâine s’ar infiinţa un act de DEZrudenie (<= creaţie proprie) în care ar scrie „ de azi, Alexandra Raţiu rupe orice legăturp de sânge cu X şi Y ”, ar fi tot un drac pentru mine.

Sunt sigură că deja v’aţi dat seama ce muuuult mi’a plăcut mie reuniunea de familie de ieri.Pe scurt : some of my cousins SUCK really bad! (multumesc că ai fost cu mine, Bogdy.NU vreau să’mi imaginez ce „ m’aş fi distrat ” fără tine )

Eu abia aştept urmatoarea reuniune. Uuu, deja nu mai am răbdare. Parcă, parcă vă doriţi şi VOI să fi fost acolo, alături de mine. Pariu fac că si vouă vă e dor ca cineva să vă ciupească de gropiţe all day long şi să vă zică „ ce maaare te’ai făcut” [ NOOOOT !]

In my opinion I think this is a great word for everyone to learn. It would be helpful when talking about a large number of any type of animal. For instance, a group of geese can be simply called a bevy. It is easier than going into specifics; and you still sound smart (and are correct!) If you wish to be technical, a group of geese is general is called a flock. If the geese are in flight they are called a skein, unless they are flying in "V" formation then they are called a wedge. But if the geese are simply on land, they are called a gaggle. There are many other ways to use this word.

Many memebers of my extended family have collections of items. My aunt has a bevyof various coca-cola labeled products in her basement including a lamp, photographs, antique glass cola bottle, even coca-cola wall paper. My grandma, on my mom's side of the family, has a bevy of stuffed animal cats; she has left one to each of her grandchildren in her will. Another one of my aunts has a bevyof dolls--which kind of gives me the heebie jeebies.

Ładnie? Bardzo ładnie. Chociaż... Że imidż niewyraźnej posłodzonej wody o posmaku Coca-Coli na mariażu z panem Bondem zyska, jestem przekonana. Nie jestem natomiast, czy taki deal dobrze robi fejsowi Bonda, wiążąc jego przyrodzoną zadziorność z pozbawioną i smaku, i charakteru piątą wodą po coli a.k.a. Coke Zero... Nie konweniuje mi to. Nie poradzę. Chociaż ładne to. Bardzo nawet.

Por lo que me comentaron colocándolo en forma vertical el logo del gaseoso refresco se puede apreciar el rostro de dos personas caricaturescas donde una le escupe a la otra o también una sola persona y entre sus manos se denota una bebida (imaginó que una Coca Cola) échale coco, porque si parecen.

Por otro lado incruste un video donde explican algunas de las imágenes subliminales que esta compañía nos "regala", algunas podrían caer en lo absurdo pero pues ahora que lo pienso asi es esto de la mercadotecnia.

(ahora si voy por mi coca...que diga...por un delicioso juguito de manzana jajaja XD)

A Coca Cola na Inglaterra vai rebatizar a Coca Zero - irá se chamar temporariamente Zero Zero 7, por conta da associaçao do refrigerante com o proximo filme de James Bond, 'Quantum of Solace'. O refrigerante sairá em ediçao limitada no mês que vem, em embalagem especial.
