Last week, my deeply insightful friends went out and bought me something from Chanel for my birthday

Last week, my deeply insightful friends went out and bought me something from Chanel for my birthday! It's from their cosmetics line, so it is something that does disappear over time, but I'm still very grateful for them because I know it's pricey, and it's also very exciting because it's the first thing from the brand that I own!

It's Chanel's newly released Beaute Initiale Energizing Multi-Protection Cream SPF 15 and it's PINK! It smells really lovely too. I would never have bought this on my own, but now that I have it and used it for about a week, I can attest to the fact that it's a great product! It's really moisturizing but not too oily, and applying it with the spatula it comes with is really fun. Also, a little goes a really long way with this cream. I have eczema on my jawline, and it does a really nice job of keeping that area really soft and moisturized as well. I just love the fact that it's pink.

Chanel released this line of cosmetics to target women aged 25-35 that are starting to become more and more concerned about impending signs of aging. I've been obsessed with anti-aging since last year when I turned 20, so this is pretty much perfect. I know it sounds silly to start thinking about wrinkles at 21, but it's a valid concern! Just wait - in 10 years, I'll still have skin that looks like it belongs to a 20 year old.

Anyway, up next in my Chanel wishlist - the classic quilted bag!

LOOK FANTASTIC IN A FLASH!
1. Flip Your Part and Take Off
One of the fastest styles you can creat

LOOK FANTASTIC IN A FLASH!

1. Flip Your Part and Take Off

One of the fastest styles you can create without a pair of scissors? A low side part. “It’s so dramatic and instantly glamorous,” says hairstylist Kim Kimble, who works with Beyoncé. “Plus, it’s great for all hair types and textures.” She parts hair about four to six inches above the ear and sweeps strands back with the pointy tip of a comb.

2. Hike Up Lashes

Doing mascara on the fly requires a surgeon’s steady hands—or a makeup artist’s speedy strategy. “Always do your mascara first,” says Carol Shaw, who works on Nicole Kidman and Cindy Crawford. “If you mess up, which happens a lot, you can remove the smudge without wiping off everything else you’ve already applied.” Her warp-speed wand move: Wiggle the brush into the roots of lashes before pulling it through, then hit the tips of lashes a second time to make them seem a mile long. Try Fasio 3D Curl & Airy Lashes, P350.

3. Flawless Face Fix

If you can’t head out the door without foundation or concealer, save some time by combining these steps together: “Choose a product that can function as both foundation and concealer,” advises Xeng Zulueta of Shu Uemura. “Cream types are easy to apply while you’re on the move, as it’s best to apply them with fingers and they won’t spill in the process. Work your way out from underneath the eyes and blend out to the cheeks. Go easy on the cheeks and spot-conceal problem areas.” Try Becca Stick Foundation with SPF30, P2,000, or SanSan Matte Finish Liquid Foundation, P91.75.

4. Freeze Out a Zit

It’s Murphy’s Law in action: If anything can go wrong, it will. This is often manifested by the appearance of a monstrous zit just before a hot date. For an emergency fix, Hollywood aesthetician Sonya Dakar tells her star flock (which includes Drew Barrymore and Brittany Murphy) to dab toner over the zit to dry up excess oil, then cool and flatten the bump with an ice cube (wrapped in tissue) for a minute. “Don’t leave the cube on for too long or you’ll wind up with redness,” she warns. Finish by drying the skin with a tissue and dotting a creamy concealer like Estée Lauder Ideal Light Brush-On Illuminator, P1,850.

5. Score Instant Waves

If the humidity puts your strands on permanent frizzmode, Maybelline New York’s Barbi Chan suggested tying slightly damp hair in a bun, then setting it with hair spray before blasting it with a hair dryer. “This creates instant wavy hair without using a curling iron,” Chan says. For soft, bouncy curls, try Tigi Curls Rock Hairspray, P1,195. Bonus: Your man will love the sweet candy smell of your hair!

6. Flush in a Flash

They say that the best blush is the color that you get in the throes of an orgasm—capture this look with cheek tint and some light shimmer. “Liquid blush layered with pink-gold shimmer imparts a soft glow,” says local makeup pro Tatin Yang. “Match it with tinted lip balm and curled lashes, and you’re good to go.” We’re betting Nichido Tickled Pink Cheek Tint, P128, to give you that perfect post-coital glow. Finish off by dusting The Balm Hot Mama Shadow Blush, P1,250, for its peachy-pink shimmer.

7. Whip Out a Posh Ponytail

If you must pull your hair back in a ponytail, at least do it with style. First, tease the roots around the crown to add volume, then pull everything up and back with your fingers. “But don’t tug hair too tightly or you’ll kill the volume,” says Kimble. Secure with an elastic, then dress it up by wrapping a few strands of your own hair around the band or covering it up with a bejeweled clip or scrunchie.

8. Dramatize Your Pucker

Ever wonder how film stars manage to look glamorous sans the smoky eyes and tons of shimmer? The trick is in a tube of classic red lipstick. “Whether you’re in a hurry or simply need an instant boost, red gives you the energy needed to [instantly project] that you’re strong, sexy, or ambitious,” says Jen Delica of Avon. Her hue-finding guide: If you have a darker complexion, go for a warm, brownish red like Avon Moisture Rich Wear in Spicy, P375. If your skin is fair, pick a blue-based red to make your mouth pop like Chanel Luminous Satin Lip Color in Lover, P1,650.

9. Fake Perfect Brows

Warning: If you’re about to walk out the door, avoid tweezing at all costs (you’ll waste time trying to cover up that puffy, red unibrow). “Groom brows by combing upwards and filling in sparse areas with light, feathery strokes with a brow pencil,” suggests Jigs Mayuga of L’Oréal. “[Fix strays with] brow gel or spray an eyebrow brush with hairspray before combing them out.” Check out Bloom Retractable Brow Definer in Medium Brown, P495.

10. Bedazzle Your Tresses

If it’s the mother of all bad hair days and you can’t spare another minute, slip on a metallic headband (or one with a posh print) or tie a casual ribbon around your head. The flashy hairpiece will help draw attention away from your less-than-perfect coif and create a glamorous (or funky, depending on what you’re wearing), put-together look with no effort at all.

11. Revive Your Roots in No Time

When party-hard celebs need to oomph up their hair on the double, New York stylist Tippi Shorter (who works with Ashanti and Rihanna) relies on this tip: “Rub a bit of sculpting wax between your palms until you see a bit of sheen on your hands, then scrunch up your roots,” she says. Try Dep Sport Sculpting Clay, P329.

12. De-Fuzz in a Hurry

Can’t make it to the salon for a wax session? Disguise a bigotilyo by dipping a fluffy powder brush into mineral powder foundation, then swipe it downward over any downy spots. This smoothens the hair so it lies flat and blends into your skin. Youngblood Loose Foundation, P1,850, will do just the trick.

13. Line Your Peepers

Eyeshadow can be the most time-consuming step in makeup. Cut down on blending time by skipping it altogether, and line your eyes instead. “Just use colored liner to give the illusion of wearing eyeshadow,” says Chan. Zulueta agrees. “Go bold with colored pencils, and make sure the tip is sharp and soft for easy application.” For smudge- and waterproof orbs, check out Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes, P850 each.

14. Try the 10-Second Towel Trick

Instead of heading straight for the fan or dryer, cut drying time in half by blotting excess water from your strands with a thick towel. Don’t rub it vigorously, though—it’ll only create frizz and be harder to style later on. Just press the towel firmly over large sections, then air dry.

15. Do a Super Fast Manicure

Cut the drying time of your nail polish in half by applying two very thin coats. “Most people throw on one thick coat to get it done fast, but that takes forever to harden and looks clumpy,” says manicurist Deborah Lippmann, who polishes up Reese Witherspoon and Hilary Swank. To ensure the lightest application of lacquer, wipe the brush against the neck of the bottle before painting a nail. We like Bobbie Nail Crème in Touch Me Hot, P35.10, or Caronia Nail Polish in Love, P25.

16. Speed Up Your Blowdry

No one wants to spend the better part of the day with a hairdryer in hand, so cut blowdrying time in half by using an extrawide round brush. “Not only can you cover more area quickly, but a larger barrel creates a smoother finish,” explains hairstylist Jimmy Paul, who works with Keira Knightley. Laminate your pin-straight locks with a few drops of serum like Citré Shine Anti-Frizz Serum, P229.50, for super shine.

17. Amp Up Your Pout

You might never have Angelina Jolie’s enviable lips, but here’s an old-fashioned recipe for full lips: olive oil and salt. “The oil is super moisturizing, and the sodium makes your skin bloat up fast,” says Dakar. Mix a spoonful of regular olive oil with a pinch of salt and spread lightly on your kisser.

18. Boost Volume in a Blink

There’s just no denying the appeal of soft, sexy curls. If you want to give life to stick-straight hair, you’ll be glad to know that it doesn’t take five hours to get fat curls. To do this, gather large sections of dry hair (about three inches wide), and roll them around the barrel of a skinny curling iron. In 10 minutes, you’ll be a vampy vixen. Our favorite: Philips 8-in-1 curling iron, P1,500.

19. Make Your Eyes Pop—Pronto

“The easiest way to achieve super dramatic eyes is to rim your eyes with black liner and load up on the mascara,” says Zulueta. It also helps if you do your mascara first so you can wipe off the smudges without having to start everything all over again. Just keep cotton buds handy to erase smears.

E o que me chamou atenção no desfile foram os novos sapatos da coleção.

Pois é, uma pistola como salto.
Loucura né?
Ao meu ver soa até como crítica social.
Porque não é qualquer um que anda por aí com peças da chanel, não é?

This article is a Part 1 of 2.

It should be a no brainer that a handbag is used to carry around your personal goods. Women and others alike have a handbag. In contrast men have the wallet. How conventional, how predictable. Funny thing is as eras have come and gone, and we all follow the use of handbags...as the generations before and ave done. My question for my SOCIALnista people is...

Are you getting your Return of Investment from your Handbags?

Let's evaluate this, let's make sense out of our exchange of goods. I highly doubt this post will change minds on whether to purchase certain handbags, however, I do want you to think deeply about the worth of a handbag, and really see if you are maximizing your handbag for what its worth.

In this post I will take three of the seaons hottest bags, and break down their full retail price ( @ SOCIALnista we respect artist/designers and don't do knockoff's). In contrast, we are going to breakdown how that handbag CAN work for your social benefit. Let's get really ANAL here okay...beyond practical...

When reading this, keep in mind that average american's make up more than half of the consumers of high end products. This include's handbags. In essence we are the very people that teh product is being made for, we have made these fashion empires who they are over centuries, and they have made us happy. However, let's not assume we are getting the good end of the deal...

All in all let's get our money worth, the designers get there's, let's make sure we are all getting ours.

THE BAGS:

1. Louis Vuitton Mancrazy Monogram Jokes Handbag-American designed by artist Richard Prince. This bag is a limited edition LV handbag, and the end result is a look that we'd hate to see many wear. Let's just be honest...you will be wearing on your arm an estimated 3k in leather.

Retail: $2710.00

ROI Factor: Okay where would you wear this bag? I am guessing a flight, summer in the city, out with your family to a local diner. Okay...help me out here...I am running out of ideas. Never had to think of the ROI.

2. Chanel Medium Lux Tote Bag-From the Lux collection, this simplistic black Chanel handbag features an embedded woven chain-and-leather shoulder straps and a large quilted logo in front. The logo is great for branding this product. However, are we getting our ROI? Let's not forget to add that this pocket has a zip pocket and cell phone/PDA slots. the dimensions are: 12"L x 5"W x 12"H; 6" drop handle.

Retail: N/A

ROI: Now this bag has a lot of functions, it carries all items needed for business transactions, and your make-up and all...however, I still need help with its ROI value. Help me here...

3. The last on our list is the Gucci Vintage Messenger Bag. the purse is gorgeous, however, teh most you can get out of the purse is your powder, and keys. Maybe this is all we need, maybe not. Again, I am having trouble breaking down this products ROI value.

Its clear that this article was supposed to sum up the ROI of some of the best handbags. However, I created this blog, before I wrote this blog. Honestly, I thought it would be so simple and easy to present a handbag, and then write many ROI opportunities.

I was wrong. So we will have a part two post about this, and this time research will help us with learning about the value of handbags.

Chanel nail polish is fit for tomboys. Even though I’m a fashion maven when it comes to beauty Je suis nul. I know nothing about beauty secrets and wax, what? Tweezers huh? I never saw the difference on my face after I got my eyebrows waxed, yet others saw an amazing difference. To me I looked the same.

I grew up in a household of women who just wore red lipstick nothing more. Saturday’s were for doing your nails before church on Sunday, I was never really interested in those things. Make-up was forbidden until your 18th Birthday, so I never really got into the early years of teenage make-up. Now that I am older I am happy that I did not get into it cause my skin looks great and I am not afraid to walk out the house with out it. I feel make-up and too much attention on beauty for young teenage girls ruins there out look on what it means to be beautiful. Take for example my 16-year-old sister who says she cannot leave the house with out make-up. She is beautiful and does not even need mascara!

I have always been a tomboy and painting my nails was a nightmare! Actually my little sister taught me how. I could never stay in the lines. I had the luxury of going to the Chanel fashion show and in the goody bags was Chanel nail polish!! I hardly ever painted my nails until the other day when I went on an interview and asked about dress code in the office. The main thing that stayed in my mind was the comment about nice looking nails.

So I decided to test out the Chanel #159 Fire. Wow I am in love; the polish dries quick enough for someone with ants in their pants, who can never sit still enough for her nails to dry properly. Hence I went out to buy another colour today Rouge Noir, at 19.60 € I had to calm myself down because some of the new colours Melrose hot pink, a purple Rodeo Drive, and orange La Sunrise and a blue black are to die for, so many choices!

Thank you Peter Phillips the new Global Creative Director of Chanel Makeup for designing four “cult worthy, limited-edition nail colours in Pop –Art inspired shades.”

I'm filled with pride and admiration as today I got to see the photoshoot my friend Tom "Inkfetish" Blackford did with Italian Vanity Fair. The concept was 'Venice Beach' and Tom painted the car and the background. Check his website for the rest of the images and more of his work. The pictures have actually really surprised me, maybe because I'm more familiar with the very traditional editorials of English and American Vanity Fair. I could never imagine them doing something like this. The colour scheme is great, particularly the use of coloured light. I am also completely in love with the yellow Chanel bag with the jigsaw quilting.

Unless you've been under a rock, you've heard that the Jolie-Pitt twins have arrived, and have been named Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline.

Our recent Name of the Day post on Etienne suggests that there's little hope of a revival for most French-flavored boys' names, at least in the first spot. But how about the girls?

Read on for a discussion of past French names in favor in the US, and some très chic, très français ideas for a nom de fille today.

Vivienne is, of course, likely to re-enter the Top 1000 in the next year or two. But parents have been borrowing inspiration from the ever so fashionable French for generations. These Top 100 monikers al charted between 1880 and 1939:

Blanche

Elaine

Genevieve

Jacqueline

Josephine

Louise

Lucille

Marguerite

Pauline

Most remained in use, and many climbed the charts during the Baby Boom. They were joined by:

Diane

Joanne

Michelle

Renee

Suzanne

Valerie

Modern mamas might wear one of these names, but other French-inspired favorites from 1970 onwards include:

Danielle

Denise

Nicole

Stephanie

And current classrooms are filled with girls called:

Claire

Gabrielle, the given name of Coco Chanel

Madeline, and the even more deliciously French Madeleine

So what's next, besides Vivienne? Here are a few to watch:

Solange, a French shepherdess who became a saint back in the 9th century. Currently unranked in the US. The name derives from the Latin term for "religious," and some are tempted to break this down to sol - sun - and ange - angel - though that's etymologically incorrect.

Chantal, a place name and saint's surname that gets some lift from her similarity to chant, the French word for song. Plus, this choice is far more subtle than naming your daughter Chanel. While Chantal did not rank in the US Top 1000 last year, Chanel came in at #879. Don't go there!

Severine, pronounced say vuh REEN, this name comes from an old Latin family name, Severinus. While Severus might be a bit too Harry Potter for your son, this is an interesting feminization of a rarely heard name. She's unranked in the US.

Genevieve, the patron saint of Paris has seen her name rise in popularity in earlier generations. Today she stands at a familiar, but not terribly common #344.

Celeste, like Genevieve, she's quite familiar, but reasonably underused at #354.

Oceane, yup, the French world is not immune to the lure of nature names. We love the sound of this one - o say AHN - but fear she'd have to answer to plain old Ocean. Neither is in the Top 1000 here, but Oceane is big on the other side of the sea, and in Quebec.

Francoise, the French feminine form of Francis seems like a long shot at first, and indeed she's not in the US Top 1000. But with the Italian Francesca at #477 and the throwback Frances at #825, it's an interesting option with the exotic pronunciation frahn SWAHZ. Plus, it literally means "from France."

Mireille, the heroine of Pierre Capretz' French in Action series, she's taught countless American students to parlez français. While the spelling is tricky, the sound - mee RAY - is appealing and simple. She was unranked as of 2007.

Anais, a well known option thanks to writer Anais Nin, this variant of Anna is pronounced ah nah EES, thought we've met a modern bearer of the name who pared it down to ah NEES, which seems easier to wear. She ranked #906 in 2007.

Josephine, one of the earlier Gallic imports, she's back in a big way among the fashionable and today stands at #224. It's impossible to say her name without thinking of Napoleon.

Lilou, a white hot French moniker related to Lily and Liliane. Pronounced LEE loo, she's unranked in the US. We think she's a bit too flimsy to bestow independently, but could be a fabulous nickname alternative for Lillian.

Maelys, another current favorite in the Francophone world. It's a feminization of Mael, a 5th century Breton saint. The sound - MAH eh liss - is tricky in English, and she's unranked in the US. Maelle - MAH el - is also sometimes heard.

Eulalie, the French version of Eulalia, yet another saint, has an engaging, spirited feel and offers the nickname Lally. She's unranked in the US.

Capucine, actually a botanical choice, referring to the nasturtium. In the US, she'd inevitably be confused for a cup of strong coffee with frothy milk. It's also doubtful that the sound - kah pu SEEN - would be easily embraced. But it's an interesting floral-flair option, especially for the middle spot. Capucine is unranked in the US.

Elodie, one that works in English! The mellifluous Elodie is - what else - a saint's name, more commonly written as Alodia. She's unranked in the US, but thanks to the easy nickname option Ellie, wouldn't be too much for an American girl to wear.

Sidonie, a name that would almost inevitably be confused with Sidney, is actually based on an old Latin name referring to the city of Sidon, in Phoenicia. Despite her similarity to the two-syllable gender-spanning choice, we think Sidonie could work. She's unranked in the US.

Noemie, a French twist on Naomi, strikes us as one of the most appealing possibilities on our list. We've also seen Noemi, but the "ie" ending makes this a smidge more distinct than her familiar cousin. Technically, she's no ay MEE, but we'd favor a toned-down sound for the States - no eh MEE. Noemie is unranked in the US, but Noemi charts at #636.

Salome, a well-known Biblical bad girl, this moniker is redeemed by the presence of a second Salome in the New Testament. (Salome #2 witnesses the crucifixion.) Plus, her name derives from the Hebrew word shalom, or peace. The sound - sah LO may - is distinctive, interesting, and yes, French. Or at least popular in France. Salome is unranked in the US.

Throughout our list, you'll note that we've declined to use diacritical marks, though we've preserved the pronunciations as intended in French, unless otherwise noted. Why? Any maman considering a French appellation for her darling daughter should know that the umlaut, cedilla and other accents are not acknowledged in American English. They won't appear on her birth certificate or most other identifying documents.

Some names suffer without them - it's tough to tell if Oceane is French-fried or simply misspelled. Others fare just fine. It's one more thing to consider when considering these pretty, but perhaps tongue-challenging, appellations.

No, you don't. but someone else will, and they will buy it, and they will douse themselves in that mephitic stench and parade themselves around public places (or worse, your home, your car with all the windows up). please consider the very real fact that the Gucci scent you love so much is likely making someone else want to hurl.

For many years now Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel have been producing some of the world's most preposterous and overpriced sporting goods. First there was the Chanel snowboard with trompe l'oeil "quilting"; then £1,235 Chanel skis, as used by Victoria Beckham in Verbier back in 2004. More recently the fashion house has produced a Chanel bicycle, a pink Chanel tennis racket complete with tennis balls and - really - a Chanel boomerang. But Lagerfeld has upped the silliness ante now. Chanel has gone into fly fishing. For a mere £9,170 the ponciest angler on the planet can kit himself out with a Chanel rod and a set of meticulously tied, monochrome Chanel flies, complete with the famous "double C" logo on the gossamer wings, presented in a rather fetching, quilted black leather box.

But hang on a second, because unlikely as it may seem, Chanel actually has some history with the gentle art of fly fishing. The fashion house's tomboyish founder, Coco Chanel, was a keen angler who honed her skills while dating the Duke of Westminster in the 20s.

Chanel, who lived at the Paris Ritz for more than 35 years, once struck up a conversation with the owner, Charles Ritz, about her inaugural fly fishing trip to the river Alta in Norway with the Duke. "Never having fished before, I was most anxious," she admitted.

"She need not have worried," wrote Charles Ritz in his autobiography. "One of the Duke's friends, who always joined him on the Alta, was a famous fly fisher. Coco explained her problems to him and received the soundest possible advice suggesting that she should draw inspiration from the sky. 'When it's clear and bright, tie on a Silver Doctor. When dark and overcast, use a Black Doctor' ... As a result, on several occasions she landed more salmon than His Grace."

We are already on the waiting list for next season's Chanel waders.

Authentic and stylish handbags were a natural advance patterned from Coco Chanel’s fashion beginning with the same traditions being incorporated into the bags’ designs. Chanel’s purses are an extension of a woman’s wardrobe, along with her shoes and perfumes.

In other ways, Chanel handbags in this new fashion era have changed very little. The Chanel’s timeless fashion bags highlight the collection of many purse fanatics.

There are some aspects of the original handbags that have been maintained this includes:
•	Its original quilted leather.
•	Its finely textured fabrics.
•	The chains.
•	The signature symbol of two CC’s.

With a classic and timeless appearance, the Chanel collection this year are still offers similar trends to history, from tweeds to chains that has been always popular in its “little black bag.”

I think we may be expecting too much from our teenage romance novels. The New York Times printed an article titled In Novels for Girls, Fashion Trumps Romance. It seems Naomi Johnson, a communications professor at Longwood University in Virginia, recently wrote a dissertation on the alarming number of occurrences of product placement in books written for teenage girls. Now, I will admit the number does seem kind of high (1,553 brand mentions in 1,431 pages of the six books she had read), but in the end, it is much ado about nothing. The books in question come from three very popular series, Clique, Gossip Girl and A-List. Not my cup of tea, but you can’t argue with sales. For the record, the packaging company, publisher, and authors all deny any money was exchanged for the product placement. The authors claim real brands were used to give the books authenticity. I think the obsession with weight, appearance, popularity, and money make the books sadly authentic enough.

But what if brands like Moschino, Jimmy Choo, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, etc. did pay for product placement in these books? Would that be so bad? If a teenage girl is reading Gossip Girl, she’s not reading it to learn how to make the world a better place. She’s reading it because a bunch of hot girls in cool, expensive clothes are learning the importance of being popular, and judging others for their looks and poor choice of income potential. Would subjecting these young ladies to crass commercialism really ruin the integrity of these types of books, and shatter the reader’s feeble resistance to buy a thing because her favorite character wears, drives, or covets that thing? I say let the publishers cash in.

Now, I’ve never read a single word of any of the aforementioned books, but I’ve read a number of articles on them and there appears to be only one redeeming quality about them. They are encouraging kids to read. There is a movement afoot to have the books band from schools and libraries. Having read that a mother wants to burn my books because they are “evil,” I am, perhaps, extra sensitive to this never-to-die movement to ban books. Censorship is not the answer. Reading builds better communication skills. It helps foster a love for learning. Reading turns on the theater of the mind and helps kids think and grow with more imagination and greater lucidity. Would you rather they spend endless hours playing games like Grand Theft Auto and meeting creeps on MySpace? C’mon. Keep them safe. Let them read.

Veja o filme e depois o making of. Vale a pena

I can’t figure Amy Winehouse out - she’s got an amazing voice, amazing style, and an ama

I can't figure Amy Winehouse out - she's got an amazing voice, amazing style, and an amazing bank account balance. But she also has a horrible eating disorder, a drug & alcohol addiction that would make Ike Turner blush, and a totally dysfunctional relationship with her dad (what kind of father allows his daughter to check out of a hospital after being diagnosed with early emphysema, and takes her straight to the Kwik-E-Mart for booze & cigarettes?). To boot, she's a total lunatic - she ran into the middle of traffic this week and hopped into some random guy's convertible. They disappeared for like, an hour and when she finally showed back up hours later she looked all crazy-eyed and ran straight into her apartment.

But if you put all the wackness aside, though, that girl has style. Karl Lagerfeld, Mr. Chanel himself, even launched an entire line inspired by the troubled singer/songwriter, and we all know that Uncle Karl has some pretty high standards. The girl is funky-classic defined, with her retro-beehive, thick winged eyeliner, 50's party dresses and classic accessories (think huge hoop earrings and pretty pearl necklaces). While any smart person would never use Amy as their personal role-model, we have to face it: Ms. Winehouse is a bona fide fashion icon. Cop her modernized Du-Wop look with 585 Karat Platinum hoops, a Freshwater Pearl necklace, and some thick 14k yellow gold rope chains from ShopDI.com.

I am perhaps the worst blogger in the world. Yes. I know. Sorry. Anyway, last Wednesday was my birth

I am perhaps the worst blogger in the world. Yes. I know. Sorry. Anyway, last Wednesday was my birthday. It was cool. I went to school, nearly fell asleep, and then went out to Dim Sum with Mum and Phillip. He brought along some of his friends. It was...not something I'm used to. I don't usually converse when I eat, as I'm usually shoveling food down my throat. [good stuff]. Went home, did a little posting on thepurseforum, by far my most favorite forum in the history of Izabelle. Later on we went to Happy House--it seems to be THEE place to go when we celebrate for any occasion--Birthdays, etsy 500, 1000, etc...

Hmm...I still haven't received my Married to the MOB shirt yet. I'm pretty sad about that, as he said he would ship it out on July 4th, but of course being a holiday, I figured July 5th...Well...It's July 14, and I don't have my shirt. well, it's 2:07 in the morning, but still. I want my friggin shirt.

What else...I'll just post pics of my recent purchases. Not recent, actually, a lot of this stuff I got a while back, but since I'm needing to post stuff with pictures, here we go.

My MBMJ Kingpin Strike Bag! Been wanting this bag since it came out, just got it like two months ago. WOOH. Wasn't even searching for it. Honestly, totally forgot about it. Just popped up on EvilBay, and i got it right away. Reeked of smoke, though it claimed to come from a smoke free home. But being the person I am, I left positive feedback. Not necessary to rock the boat!

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="292" caption="Taken from armcandygirl.com"][/caption]

My stunna shades arrived, too! But no way in hell am I about to take a picture of me wearing them. I believe everybody has the right to see [for you slow folks, i don't want to blind you, yes?]

I also have a mbmj groovee...I got that a while back, but never posted about it. Without further ado, my baby from SS08! [mine has gold hardware, and got QUITE the discount]

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Taken from Polyvore.com"][/caption]

And following the whole 'gladiator sandal' trend, I really wanted a pair. Like. REALLY. I was looking at street style blogs, and came across a picture of someone with a LOVELY pair of gladiator sandals. After questioning on the purse forum, someone informed me they were by Cynthia Vincent, pictured here:

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Taken from Copenhagenstreetstyle.dk"][/caption]

Well, after seeing the price of $405, and they were sold out anyway, I figured I'd look around. And what better place than forever21.com? I figured [i do a lot of figuring haha] that this is a trend. It probably won't last that long, just like the whole legging trend, and by the time my $24.80 'blanea wedges' wear out, the trend will be over. A small price to pay for being fashionable, right? These are mine:

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="323" caption="Blanea Wedges, Pic captured from forever21.com"][/caption]

And as you can see, were 'inspired' by Balenciaga! All the more reason! Another little sidenote--been wanting an 06 grenat city. Showed the bags to 'my people' (mum, aunt, sister) and the first two said ew, 'i don't like it' and 'for that price you could get an LV or something'. The latter just said, 'eh'. So... begins my journey..to save and save and save. I could get the LV mahina, or about two chanel flaps. Of course I won't get TWO, but, just for an idea of price....haha When I can afford ONE chanel, I'll decide whether I want to buy one, or wait a little A LOT longer to get the MAHINA... Mum doesn't believe I can wait that long, as I just bought $60 something dollars worth of clothes from american apparel...I'll post those when I get them. This is a pretty lengthy post. haha. I shall close this post with pictures of the Mahina and chanel Jumbo Flap. Goodnight!

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="397" caption="Mahina XL on the left"][/caption]

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Taken from pursepage.com, and JEEZE I LOVE Nicole Richie! Her style is AMAZING. well...sometimes.
