His other songs are pretty good as well so you should check it out.  His music is a mix of various genres including reggae, punk, soul, hip hop and rock.  However this song has a more alternative/rock/hip hop vibe to me.

I look at it this way, if we live, eat and exercise (or not) like everyone else, then we will likely die like everyone else!  We are designed to live healthy up to 120 years while most will die before age 80. 

The Prescription? Simple-   Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables every day. Minimize meat to a few times a week, if at all.   Get at least 150 minutes of exercise each week.  It is important that you get your heart pumping. Break a sweat!  Take quality vitamins. Have your doctor  check your cholesterol, triglycerides, blood sugar,  vitamin D level (90% of us are deficient),  homocysteine and cardiac CRP.   Also, get your Body mass index (BMI) under 25 (measure your BMI here). Men should keep alcohol to less than 2 drinks per day and women less than 1.

Una vez que los hermanos Followill bajaron del escenario principal en el festival All Points West en New Jersey para cederle el paso a Radiohead, Thom Yorke dijo: "If we were that good-looking, we'd be famous..." para así dedicarles su rola "Airbag"...

Ese chiste, parte ironía, parte elogio, parte realidad, sólo demuestra algo: Los Kings Of Leon andan en plan grande. Su rock, con la identidad netamente sureña que el estado de Tennessee les heredó, ha adquirido una personalida más que propia. Siendo éste su cuarto disco, hay pocas bandas de la región que suenen tan bien como ellos.

Todo queda plasmado en Only By The Night; un disco redondo, redondísimo, con un manejo de tiempos impecable, con guitarrazos épicos y con la desgarradora voz de Caleb que eriza la piel en tracks como "17".

Uno de los mejores discos del año, lleno de luz, de matíces cálidos; un tremendo must have.

While the sound of this single is somehwat of a departure from their previous albums, it is a risk that will prove successful for them.  I love nothing more than when a band can create a new sound and image and actually pull it off! The video is even sicker - a trippy almost futuristic / spacey vibe...love LOVE LOVE it!! Peter Bjorn & John are amazing on their own but this remix of their song "Let's Call it Off" by Girl Talk is fantastic.  I would say almost hard to believe it is Girl Talk who remixed this b/c it is a departure from his usual remixes - but he did a great job! Take a listen...I'm totally gonna have to feature Peter Bjorn & John Separately as well as Girl Talk but for now enjoy the remix!

Vampire Weekend is one of my recent favorites. I think they have a pretty unique sound and they managed to maintain and infuse into their cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Everywhere".

Well case and point this was my situation this weekend for me and luckily there are not that many songs entitled Fa Fa Fa which decreased my research time drastically..yeah!!

 So this song is pretty dope - great beat from a great Norwegian band called Datarock.  I leave you links to the radio version and the shakes remix which is really good as well.

I had received a few documents sent to me by Mr. Gregg Ward, the Vice-President of the Detroit-Windsor Truck Ferry. My blog posting about the Truck Ferry caught his particular attention. He had told me that he sent his matter to the US congress dated in June 2007.  By reading pages 6 to 8 of the TI testimory, a few lines about accessing the truck ferry from the U.S. is pretty clear:

On the Canadian side of the border, directional signage to the ferry exists on
highways as well as county and local roadways. These signs identify the U.S. hazardous
material restrictions at the border and provide excellent trailblazing to the truck ferry
terminal. On the U.S. side of the border before the entrance to the bridge and tunnel, not
a single sign exists on the state, county or local roadways providing information on the
US National Hazardous Materials Route Registry restrictions or the alternate hazardous
material crossing of the Detroit-Windsor Truck Ferry.

He also states that after the events of September 11th, 2001 - Detroit media clearly sees that fuel tankers and other trucks carrying hazardous materials were able to cross the Ambassador Bridge illegally. Even though that there are signs clearly state that dangerous goods are NOT allowed to cross the Ambassador Bridge (and the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel).

There was a little sign that was posted on the Ambassador Bridge - but after the toll collection procedure. In addition, there are no toll booth operators on the Canadian side to prevent a vehicle who carries dangerous goods across the Ambassador Bridge.

While prohibition signs exist in a few areas in Montreal, Quebec (notably the Ville-Marie Tunnel of Autoroute 720, Melocheville Tunnel, Louis-Hippolyte-Lafontaine Tunnel) and Quebec city, Quebec to notify truckers that carrying dangerous goods are prohibited in addition to signs in Windsor, Ontario leading to access to the truck ferry to inform truckers who carries dangerous goods, nothing physically exists on the American side in Detroit, Michigan.

Something should be done to avoid such a catastrophe. This reminded me of a Sesame Street segments, "Danger's No Stranger" and "The word is Danger" (sung by Little Jerry and the Monotones) - but to make matters more serious and to tie in with the HAZMAT loophole, the song "Danger's No Stranger" is used. I want to thank Mr. Gregg Ward for sending me all the information that he provided.

Changing gears, I stumbled upon watching a music video up on Youtube from a band based in Edmonton, Alberta called Social Code. They recently released their new music video "He Said, She Said". By watching this particular music video and to my "sharp" eye, I can see that Josh Ramsay of Marianas Trench made a cameo in this music video. The music videos sets at a local baseball park (or field) and as the music video plays, there is some Japanese text on it! I literally laughed on what the music video unfolds and there is even a shot of a random person in a Gorilla costume!! I wonder what if Bobby Foley has his say about that particular music video. It's anyone's guess. The saddest part for Josh Ramsay - his signature blue hair is gone!!!!!!! The music video reminisces me of Nelly's "Batter Up". Anyways, enjoy the music video(s) below.

Next question – what exactly do you need, and where will you find it?

There are certainly a lot of choices – local vendors, whitebox, multi-national corporations (MNCs), regional VARs, large and small OEMs, build it yourself, and a host of others (I’m sure if we did a raise of hands we’d see scores of other options).  What’s the right choice?

The easiest choice is to buy from an MNC – nobody ever got fired for buying from them, right?  They have a huge presence – web, television, print.  They have a huge sales force (well, if you do enough business for them to notice you anyway).  Their prices are almost unreal.

But is the MNC the right fit for your project?  Do they offer the peripherals you want from the manufacturers you prefer?  And who, exactly, built their “stuff”?  Does the product selection from the MNC look like this:

Look at stock product lines on the web or in the latest ad slick/line card.

Pour through pages of products and somehow not find what you are looking for (how is that possible?)’

Move on to find a product that is “close enough” that you can tweak a bit to be a good fit

Check what, if any, onsite help you can get

Is there another choice?

I’d argue there is, and in many cases those other choices are worth exploring – their names might not always be top of mind, but when you can find a supplier/partner who operates in the same business mode you do, who offers a wide variety of robust and well-engineered projects, who also offer quick, capable support – take a second look at them.  You may find that not only are their products competitive and designed/manufactured by some really big names in the IT business, but that same supplier is more than willing to work with you on your projects, can offer to pre-test and pre-load your software image or a specific driver version you need, can even source ingredient components for your system which are not on their standard component lineup.

So, how do you make the choice? 

Having spent a lot of years in R&D, and talking to more IT managers than I can recall in that time, there are five questions I would ask anyone, regardless of size, before I signed on the dotted line:

Q: “Who actually makes your stuff?”  Or, said another way, “Who is your ODM (Original Device Manufacturer) partner?”  Very few IT suppliers really solder chips and fab boards – most rely on ODM partners to do that.  If you get a direct answer like “well, we do of course” try again – “no, who actually solders the chips on the boards and who designed those boards?”  Expect a simple, straightforward answer.  A front line sales person might not know, but they should be able to get the answer for you and should have no qualms about doing so.

Q: “How do I get parts replaced?” or “Can I get a failed part replaced without having to talk to your support staff?”  Your time is valuable, look for a supplier/partner who understands this and proves it with service offerings. 

Q: “What sort of customization is available?” – no, this doesn’t mean “what color do you want it?”  Suppose you need a server with, say, an Infiniband card pre-integrated and pre-tested.  If the specific card you need isn’t on the partner/supplier’s existing option list, can they add it?

Q: “I need a single image installed on every system – can you do that?”  If you provide a stock image with your operating system, driver set, applications, and configuration – can they preload your new systems with that exact image?  This can save a huge amount of time in large deployments, especially if systems are installed at multiple sites.

And last, but far from least:

Q: “Why should I buy from you?”  The answer here can be a deal maker, or a deal breaker.  Answers like “because we are the cheapest price” are OK if you are just looking at acquisition costs, but if that were true you probably would not be reading this.  A clear, concise, and consistent statement of the overall value backed up with concrete examples of exactly how that value is fulfilled is the minimum I would accept.

There’s an old expression: “You spend your money and you make your choice” and it is nowhere more true than when shopping for products for a new IT project.  Money is tight, spend carefully.  Ensure you get the best value.  Look beyond the obvious choices. 

I've always said that I'd love to hear a rapper go in on Coldplay's "Lost!" and that is said to happen very soon.

TV On The Radio - Dear Science (2008)

A kaleidoscopic whirl of punk funk, updated, remodeled and polished up aplenty for 2008. TV On The Radio are the Talking Heads du jour. Too intelligent surely for mainstream success, the vitality and drive of this latest offering ensure that it's visceral funk and bizarre harmonies will be monopolising my attention for weeks to come. Fabulous record and a timely assertion of some old fashioned values, musicianship and technique in a hypermodern stylee.

Blown Away…. How come this guy is not on the cover of any music magazine? May be he doesn’t want it… But Kishore has been doing something which a whole band with the intellectual capital of at least 4 brains couldn’t do…. Added soul to the music and the machines….

The first song I heard was “Darling Nessie”…Now is this same Nessie from the Loch Ness in Scotland? Hope so… makes it more beautiful…But the real gem is “Snakes and Geometry”… scream, hurt, loneliness, unputdownable, beautiful… I am hearing the song again and again…. And again.. 

All those sounds and effects… I really wanna know… Is he using original equipments or a software? But either way…. Its stunning…

For a start….he couldn’t have penned more original and promising songs…
